Alexander stood before Yancy with his mother, just another year at the school for screw ups. Alex had never known his father, though according to his mother, he was a very important man, living in Quebec. He paid child support, a lot actually, meaning his mother could pursue her dreams without worrying about money, so he wasn't all too bad, he supposed. Still, he wished he was in his life. He had never known a father's love. His mother didn't date, so, it was just her and him against the world. So, she stood with him as the principal was rambling on and, just as he always did. Alexander was zoning out, when something caught his eye, there was something, hovering above another kid, were those words? And they didn't swim around?

Was this true? Was he a demigod too? Son of winter? Who was the god of winter? His mother used to tell him the stories of the greek heroes, gods and monsters but he couldn't seem to recall who was the god of winter. He was drawing a blank.
Even stranger, he could read the text without any problem, as if he didn't have dyslexia. That alone made him think that maybe it was true. Before he knew it, the principal was done with his speech and the teachers handed each of the students their dorm room number and who they would be sharing their space with. Looking at his slip, he was surprised, he was sorted in with Perseus and a kid named… Grover Underwood in room 305. Looking around, he spotted Perseus and his mother(he assumed it was his mother), standing besides another kid without a guardian, he looked a few years older than the others. He had curly, brown hair and the wisp of a beard. Above his head were letters too.

A satyr? Weren't those the goat people? His legs seemed broken, all out of shape, maybe that was because he was hiding goat legs? He walked over and introduced himself, "Hello, I'm Alexander Dorn, you can call me Alex, I share a dorm with you two… you are Perseus and Grover, right?"
"Percy", Perseus said, extending his hand, which Alexander shook. Grover merely nodded.
"You are new here right? I've been her for two years already, I'll show you the ropes", Alexander smiled at the demigod and Satyr.
"What a polite gentlemen you are", his mother ruffled his hair.
"Mom! Not in front of the others!" Alex whined but his mother only chuckled.
"Follow me, room 305 is over there, past the cafeteria and just across from the rest rooms", he took Percy and Grover by the hands and dragged them behind him. He showed them the room and took his suitcase from his mother, beginning to unpack. Normally, the rooms were for four people but they had been lucky that this years student count wasn't even, so they were only three in the room.
