Synopsis
If Thorkel (Vinland saga) had fought against Aegon the Conqueror _____________________________________________________________________________________ A note from the author:I don't own the characters Vinland Saga and A Song of Ice and Fire, they belong to Makoto Yukimura and George R.R. Martin. As for the picture on the preview, if the author of this picture is against using it, write to me and I will remove the picture. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ P.S. I am publishing this story exclusively for myself, there may be errors and some will accuse me of unreality of what is happening and the level of power of the characters. I don't care, because this is just a fanfic based on a funny idea. If you want, you can consider this a kind of AU-universe, where there is a super-strong Viking Thorkell, who is stronger than the original. This is also the first time I've posted a story on this site, unless of course I screwed up xD.

"Doesn't it ever get boring always being on the winning side?"

-Thorkell

......

In the distant lands of Westeros, when the Targaryens' flames scorched cities and their dragons darkened the skies, a warrior emerged whose legend overshadowed even the fiery scales of the winged beasts. His name was Thorkell. He was no older than fifty, but his muscles seemed carved from stone. He wielded two massive axes made of Valyrian steel, swinging them with such ease that they seemed no heavier than simple straws.

When the Targaryen army, numbering over 40,000, approached the northern lands, Thorkell did not flinch. He stepped forward alone, without armor, armed only with his axes and unyielding fury. The first wave of soldiers crashed into him, but Thorkell, swinging his axes, accidentally cleaved not only his enemies but also the trees around him, raising a whirlwind of blood and wooden splinters.

When a cavalry unit charged at him, Thorkell struck a horse with such force that it soared into the sky like a bird and disappeared over the horizon. In his rage, he tore a five-ton boulder from the ground and hurled it at the infantry, killing several soldiers with the impact and leaving a crater of blood and severed limbs in the earth. But Thorkell was already charging forward, swinging a tree torn from the ground like a massive club, terrifying them.

The Targaryen army was engulfed in fear. Inspired by the battle, Thorkell grabbed a spear and threw it with such power that it pierced four soldiers. The earth trembled with every step he took, and his stomps caused underground tremors that made soldiers fall.

But this was only the beginning. The dragonriders themselves appeared on the battlefield: Aegon Targaryen with his sisters — Visenya and Rhaenys. Their dragons, Balerion the Black Dread, Vhagar, and Meraxes, soared into the sky, painting it in the crimson hues of fire and death. Their roars shook the earth, but Torkel did not falter.

Aegon, mounted on Balerion, descended from the heavens, spewing streams of flame. Thorkell, deftly dodging, tore another stone from the ground and hurled it into the beast's maw. The stone, like a catapult shot, struck the dragon's jaw, causing it to stagger. But defeating Balerion was no easy task — the dragon lunged at Thorkell, slashing with its claws and belching fire. Seizing the moment, Thorkell drove both his axes deep into the dragon's chest, leaving gaping bloody wounds.

The battle raged on. Sensing Balerion's weakness, Thorkell climbed onto the dragon's back, knocking Aegon from the saddle. He began dodging fiery blasts and the dragon's wing strikes. With incredible strength, he drove his axes into the dragon's neck, tearing through flesh and bone. Balerion let out one final deafening roar before crashing to the ground with such force that the air was filled with dust and debris. The mighty Black Dread was dead, slain by a man.

Visenya and Rhaenys, witnessing this, were horrified but ordered their dragons to attack. Vhagar lunged forward, but Thorkell, seizing a massive log resembling a spear, threw it with such force that it pierced the dragon's wing. Meraxes dived from above, but Thorkell, charging towards the beast, leapt into the air and drove both axes into its neck, causing the dragon to crash to the ground, spilling blood across the battlefield.

When Vhagar, despite the wound, tried to rise and attack again, Thorkell seized the opportunity. He climbed onto the injured Vhagar's neck and, with the fury of a hurricane, struck with his axes. The blades shattered bones and tore through flesh until they pierced the dragon's heart. The dragon let out a heart-wrenching roar and collapsed lifelessly, leaving only a bloody trail and debris.

Meanwhile, Targaryen army general, Orys Baratheon, led the remaining forces into battle. Surrounded by thousands of soldiers, Thorkell merely grinned and charged into the fray. His axes moved so quickly that the enemies could not even comprehend where the strikes came from. He carved a path through the ranks, slaying Orys Baratheon and his bodyguards.

In a brutal duel, Torkell faced Orys.

Orys was a skilled warrior, but Torkell's strength surpassed human limits. Torkell deflected all of Orys's attacks, smashing his shield with a powerful blow, and then dealt the final strike, crushing the general.

After Orys's death, Thorkell turned to Aegon and his sisters, who somehow survived the fall after the death of their dragons. In a fierce battle, he fought all three at once. Visenya tried to strike with her long sword, Rhaenys with a spear, and Aegon with his legendary Valyrian steel sword, "Black Flame." But Thorkell, like a hurricane, parried their attacks, delivering blows with superhuman speed and strength.

First, he crushed Rhaenys, driving his axe deep into her chest. Then, he deflected Visenya's treacherous lunge and cleaved her in two with incredible force. Left alone, Aegon fought fiercely, but Thorkell dodged the quick, deadly strikes of Valyrian steel, expertly parrying them with his axes. In the final moment, he knocked "The Black Dread" aside with a powerful axe strike and then delivered a fatal blow, piercing Aegon's chest.

When the dust settled, Thorkell stood atop the fallen dragon, covered in blood, ash, and glory. He looked at the remaining enemies and roared like a wild beast.

The remnants of the Targaryen army, witnessing the death of their leaders and the fall of the greatest dragons, were completely routed. No one dared challenge him. Some dropped their weapons and surrendered, while others fled in panic, desperately trying to save their lives. Thus, Thorkell became a legend, the man who defeated not only a 10,000-strong army but also the fiery might of the Targaryens and their dragons.
