The next day, Nioh sent the kids to their quarters for grooming before, while he will be taking some time for himself. They were reluctant at first, but he promised to take them out shopping to convince them.
Ever since he completed the biocore fusion, Ekoh has been unusually quiet. 'What is going on with you?' he asked Ekoh. "I am not sure, after the fusion, I have been recovering some lost data."
'What do you mean?' 'I am not sure. It's still quite incomplete.' 'Don't dwell on it; we will have a lot of fusion in the future'
'Yes! Now that we have solved the major problem of intensity, what do you think would be the best weapons to maximize efficiency?'
'The harmonic waves we are the most familiar with are sound bound the rest will have to stay hidden for the moment; the energy consumption is too much for repetitive use.'
'We can only plan around that since you are a mix between an Apex(artillery) Class and Specter (Stealth) class, I suggest going full on the ambush assassin path and keeping the massive damage part a trump card'
'That just gave me an idea,' Nioh said as he pulled a tablet and began drawing a few things on it. 'What about this?' he asked Ekoh.
'Isn't a two-handed weapon too much for an assassin? It doesn't offer much flexibility.'
'True, but if I add this and this, it would have a double use and would offset flexibility.'
'What about speed?' 'I will build sonic booster for burst attacks'
'This is a build for all in attacks, not much room for escape, and not very effective against Colossus (tank) classes.'
'That's why we need to get used to other types of energy soon, the lack of diversity kills the flexibility. It's decent enough. I will write the list of materials, ' Nioh said while getting ready for breakfast.
When he made it to the dining room, the twins and the empress were already waiting.
"Morning, Empress Mother, I apologize for making you wait," he said politely.
"Forgo the formalities; it was hard on you yesterday. Eat," She replied.
"I only did what a son is supposed to do," he spoke back. Not knowing if she meant the kidnapping or the funeral.
"Little uncle, where are we going today?" Kol asked.
"I will take you to pay respect to your father, and we will go shopping for biocore and components to build weapons."
"Woah! I want a sword"…
The conversation continued while breakfast was in progress under the approval of the old empress. It seems like whatever apprehension she had against him had vanished overnight. It's good to get along, he thought to himself.
"Take Iris with you; this girl is always so stoic. It is good for her to see the world. Also, she can assist with the Kids," the empress decreed.
"Sure, Empress Mother"
As Nioh promised after breakfast, he brought the twin to the tomb of their father. The burial place was deep in the Glev mausoleum, along with the hundreds of other Glevs.
"This is the mausoleum; your father and your ancestors are buried here. When your grandfather dies, he will be buried here too."
"It is a great honor to fight for humanity and to be recognized for it. It is a great sacrifice that leaves children orphan and at the same time gives the chance to other children to grow up with their parents."
"Your father was honorable. Unfortunately, he was born a Glev. His destiny was to fight and conquer. But he saw a different world, one of peace and love. Your father was not wrong, but he went wrong somewhere"
"He was weak; to have peace and to protect peace, you need power. You now must carry the wishes of your dad, but you will need to be strong, so strong that peace and love are something you can bestow upon people."
"Unfortunately, you are born Glevs there is no other way for you. Strength is your only path to survival.
I am clear?"
Both children nodded as tears fell from their faces. It was a poignant moment and a defining one for the type of adults they would be. Life has never been kind to geniuses.
After giving them a moment of silence, Nioh brought the twins out of the mausoleum and was joined by Marsai and Iris, both dressed in formal clothing and ready for the outing.
"Where are we going, Prince Nioh.?" Marsai asked as the team settled comfortably into the hover car.
"I want you to tour a little the inner city let me observe the lifestyle of the archipelago and take us to a place where we could acquire biocores and materials," Nioh replied as he pulled his wristwatch and began to fiddle with something with the little display screen.
Marsai gave instructions to the driver, and they began their little journey. The design of the archipelago was very different from biohive 81; the architecture was more green, full of life and colorful plants, Mountains, and rivers. Suppose it felt more like a giant garden than a city. Technology was kept to a minimum or was hidden from plain sight. It was a nice place to live.
"This is the trading market, the biggest in the fiefdom, If you can't find what you are looking for here, probably you won't find it anywhere else," Marsai explained as they arrived at the largest tower he had ever seen.
"Woah, it is so big..!" Sol exclaimed. The bodyguard went out ahead to secure the perimeter before Nioh and his entourage stepped into the trading market.
Nioh checked his wristwatch, and his finances had risen a few zeros at the time, so he did not feel the burden while spending. First, he got some easier-to-wear clothes, less flashy than the official royalty gear. Sol and Kol bought some, too.
They stopped at every boutique like they were going to buy the whole market. Eventually, Nioh's penny hoarder mentality stopped him from doing any unnecessary spending. 'Just because I am not buying doesn't mean I can't look.'
After trailing window shopping, they arrived in a high-grade biocore store. "Good morning, gentlemen, how can I help you?" the store attendant, an old man in a black suit, asked as he came up to them.
Nioh gave them a list and said, "I want everything on this list." The attendant looked at the list slowly and raised his eyes. These were weapon-building materials, either this man was a weapon designer or an apprentice weapon designer. The weapon designing profession was the most sought-after in the era, having a fine-tuned weapon was like adding nitro to boosters.
"How many sets for each material?" He asked again. "Just one," Nioh replied.
"It is going to take a few hours to gather the materials," He replied in a nice tone.
"Marsai, settle the bill and the delivery address with the good sir," Nioh ordered.
Before he could leave, the old man handed him a Token. "I don't know if you are busy, but there is a special auction going on in our arena. You might find something that piques your interest."
Iris stepped forward to receive the Token. " The young master, thanks, you," she said.
