Earth. A calm, serene and unique planet due to one notable factor: It is one of the only known planets in mankind to actually support life. The inhabitants of this world go about their lives. The children play from dawn until dusk, hanging out with their friends and loved ones watching over them. The construction workers build new places, with dreams of it one day becoming that great 'magnum opus' to propel their careers. And the white collard workers bustle about, always in a hurry to find the next big score.
This way of life was the most peace humanity has seen for the time being, with the actual wars being fought elsewhere and the political leads negotiating for their gain. Unfortunately, this would be quickly forgotten.
Suddenly, the sky had turned dark all over, with clouds rolling in faster than even the panicked meteorologists could even record them. At first, many were concerned that it was about to be an unexpected rain, with parents gathering their children and the workers all crowding to find cover. The panic really began to set in however as thunder tore through the skies, roaring out and making its Prescence known. And that's when it was heard.
"Mortals! cease your mindless running and heed our demands!"
All across the globe people froze at the voice that boomed like thunder. The leaders of the world found frowns on their faces as they heard the message. Believing this to be a ploy from their political enemies, Many spies and agents were sent to investigate. Before any of the military grade vehicles could even move out however, The wind began to pick up as the thunder and lightning condensed into one area.
"What's that?"
"The thunder is...merging?"
"My baby! Dane, grab him already!"
Panic across the world spread as the lighting began to resemble a vortex, sparks blasting out here and there, with some landing on buildings, turning the once high and mighty structures into piles of rubble, taking with it countless lives.
An older man with a large brown beard and dressed more like he was in the summer than spring yells out "I was right! the end was near! you all didn't believe me, but ol' Johnson here was right" "Not now dad!" Johnson is dragged by the arm by a slightly younger man, likely his son based on his words.
The bright blue vortex in the sky finally solidifies, being larger than an entire continent and from it seven human like shapes began to float out. Yes, FLOATED!
Many religious believers around the world gasped with shock in their eyes. Then, before the strange looks of the people standing by them, they all dropped to their knees and bowed, as if revering something...divine.
" I am ZEUS! God-king of the Greek pantheon!" The first being to have arrived from the portal spoke, his voice bellowing across the world. He resembled a sage, with an incredibly long beard and an otherworldly light in his eyes. In his right hand was a literal thunderbolt, much to the awe of the people beneath him. As Zeus was about to continue, one eyed elderly man interrupted. "Enough with the theatrics Zeus, get to the point."
Zeus glares at the man, lightning shooting from his beard. "SILENCE All-father! I will speak to the mortals how I please!" the earthlings listening in feel their jaws drop in disbelief. Zeus and the all father? as in, the GODS of myths!?Odin, Not giving more attention to the whining thunder child by his side, Begins to address the mortals now shivering from his gaze. "Greetings Earthlings, I, Odin along with six other God-kings bring forth our presence. I will now explain what is going on." As he says this runes begin to flash across his skin. Then, a screen of light emits from his now glowing eye, large enough for the world to see "For Eons, our pantheons have been in what is known as a divine war, constantly spilling blood in order to gain the upper hand over the other pantheon." The light screen shows of the large scale fight in an unknown realm.
Baldur and Hades are seen clashing, the area fluctuating between day and night from the power leaking from them. Kartikeya and Anhur charge at each other, bloodlust covering the field as other minor gods cower under the raw pressure from it. Ebisu is seen over an ocean of monsters, with other captured and pale-faced minor gods being used as bait.
Odin continues to speak, saying "But both our weapons and spirit have grown tired of this endless war so we have come with a new solution. We will bet on You people to end our war." The god's declaration sent tremors through the people, yet none raised complaints. Are you kidding? these are actual DIVINE BEINGS!
As many civilians around the world began to worry about another world war happening, Odin spoke once more. "However, due to your creator god wishing for you not to be eliminated in this war, he came up with an alternative. YHWH, if you will."
One of the divine gods raised its arms. No one could see their face or anything about them for they were shrouded in a cloak that seemed to shine brighter than even the sun behind them, yet none were harmed by the light, a strange fact realized among the scientists of the world. Before they could ponder further however, the world began to shake.
The land stretched and shifted under their feet. Forests grew and mountains rose as six fortress like buildings erupted forth around the globe. As the world stopped, people found that their terrain is not the same as it once was. Ignoring their shock for the time being, Odin began to state how the war will be fought.
"The believers of our pantheons will be used as the base for each god-king. these sacred grounds will then pick one individual to represent the entire group. said individual will lead a species of spirit beasts picked by random to take over the fortresses made. Each will have a month to prepare without the intervention of others, be it immortal or not. By then, whichever fortress is still standing will be declared victor. You have a week in order to figure out your champions. that is all" and with that, the gods vanished from thin air, as if they were a mirage.
