Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Descent of Expert

In the middle of the mountains, a young man named Xuen Ye, dressed in simple attire with striking black hair and deep, dark eyes, gazed at the sky. He turned to an elderly man, who despite his advanced age, exuded a youthful energy.

Xuen Ye questioned, "Master, are you certain? You want me to return to the mortal world?"

The old man responded, "Xuen Ye, the time has come for you to venture out on your own. I have trained you well, and now you must forge your own path and learn from the world itself."

With a gentle smile, Xuen Ye expressed his gratitude, "Thank you for everything, Master."

The old man, with a hint of sorrow in his smile, walked towards a small cottage and imparted some final words of wisdom, "Remember, as my disciple, you must never bow to anyone or serve under another. You are destined to lead and stand above all."

Xuen Ye knelt in respect, then set off towards the mortal world, a place he had left a decade ago. He was both excited and curious about the changes he would encounter.

Upon his arrival, he was astonished by the transformation of the world. Skyscrapers towered over bustling streets filled with people. He whispered to himself, "I am here. It's my time to shine."

Recalling a letter and an address given by his master, he sought out the Lin family, whom his master had mentioned as acquaintances in the secular world. He was instructed to assist them if needed, but always maintain his dignity.

As he wandered, he encountered a strikingly beautiful girl with pink hair and brown eyes, dressed in a red top and a tight black skirt. Despite her plea for help, Xuen Ye chose not to involve himself, adhering to his master's advice to avoid unnecessary problems.

The girl, frustrated by his refusal, accused him of cowardice. Xuen Ye, unfazed, continued on his way. However, he was soon confronted by a group of men who mistakenly associated him with the girl. With just a glance, Xuen Ye intimidated them into retreat, leaving everyone around in shock. Without a word, he departed, leaving the onlookers bewildered by the mysterious encounter.

A woman, who had been shocked earlier, began to follow him quietly. He noticed her but chose to ignore her. She was clumsily acting like a spy, and people around thought she looked foolish.

Xuen Ye suddenly stopped and asked, "Hey! Why are you following me?"

She replied shyly, "Well, thanks for earlier."

He said, "It's okay, I didn't do anything. I didn't even intend to help you."

She responded, "Then why did they run away? They were from the Song family, one of the most powerful families in this city. Would they just run off like nothing happened?"

He sighed and said, "Okay, what do you want? To repay the favor with your body?"

She blushed and angrily replied, "What the hell do you mean? Shut up, you pervert! I knew you were a scoundrel."

He smiled, realizing they were now tied by cause and effect, and he needed to break it soon. "I was kidding. Then help me find the Lin family. The old man's map is too old, and I don't know how to find the way."

She was shocked. Why would he want to know about the Lin family? He was dressed like a poor farmer from ancient times. The Lin family was one of the strongest families in the city.

She decided to play a prank on him. "I'll take you to the Lin family, but you need to tell me what you did to those people earlier. I'm not an idiot. Are you a martial artist?"

He was suddenly shocked. Did she ask about modern, flashy martial arts, or did she know about ancient martial artists and cultivators?

He asked, "Do you know about ancient martial artists?"

She replied, "Yes, I do. The Lin family and the Song family are prominent families in Shenzhen. They might not be as powerful as those in the provincial capital, but the Lin and Song families still have a few martial artists. The people you scared off earlier were just small fry from the Song family. The Song family has a martial expert at the intermediate stage, while the Lin family has a martial expert at the peak stage. Although the Lin family is considered stronger than the Song family, if both families were to fight, they would both suffer heavy losses."

He recalled his old master explaining that the realm of cultivation is divided into parts. The first part is ancient martial artists, which has four stages: martial artist, martial expert, martial master, and grandmaster. Each stage is further divided into three steps: low, intermediate, and peak.

The second part is when one truly becomes a cultivator, but this is extremely rare in the mortal world. Even grandmasters are seen as god-like beings.

He replied, "I see. Then take me to the Lin family. My master told me to go there, so I need to."

She thought he was a skilled fighter but assumed he was a martial artist at the middle stage. She still believed that wasn't enough for him to be taken seriously by the Lin family. However, since she had promised, she took him there anyway.

"Hey, look, we've arrived. Come inside," she said.

He assumed she knew the family well, so they entered together. She ran toward a large villa surrounded by gardens, pools, and many bodyguards.

A calm, elderly voice called out, "Lin Quirong, where have you been all day? And who is this gentleman?"

He was a bit shocked to learn that she was the daughter of the Lin family.

She replied to the old man, her grandfather Lin Hao, "Grandpa, I was ambushed by Song family guards. He protected me from them. He's a martial artist at the middle rank."

Old Lin politely expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you, young man. She is very precious to our family. Since you saved her, I owe you a favor." He then asked his granddaughter to go and prepare some tea.

He invited Xuen to sit down and said, "Since you saved her, I can't let you be treated poorly, young man. Here, you can use this card. There is 500,000 yuan on it, and you look like you could use some better clothes."

Xuen, who was in need of money and knowing that his old master was very stingy, accepted the card politely. "Thank you! I will accept it because I really need the money," he said.

Suddenly, a voice called out from inside the house, "Grandpa, Dad's condition is getting worse. He's coughing up blood. Please come quickly!"

Both Lin Hao and Xuen Ye rushed towards the room.
