Chapter 2 - An unexpected encounter

Lady Audrey glanced around in panic, unsure which turn she had taken that had led her off track. She was supposed to be by her father when presenting his gift to Queen Marina and it was almost time. She had simply excused herself to use the bathroom but when she stepped out, the maid that had brought her there was gone so she tried to find her way back and that didn't turn out the way she had expected.

Roaming down the hall, unsure of which one led to the grand hall, she hoped she would stumble upon a maid or guard, anyone at all that would be able to point her in the right direction and just as she had hoped, she spotted a young man walking towards her and she sighed in relief.

Prince Arthur had not noticed the woman in front of him because he was so lost in thought until she stepped in front of him with her arms outstretched.

"Excuse me."

Her vanilla-like scent filled his nostrils almost immediately and he got pulled into the most beautiful set of brown eyes he had ever seen. She was dressed in a Lila purple, floral print long dress and her ginger hair was packed and styled in a low bun, adorned with pearls. Her beauty was breathtaking.

He scoffed, realizing exactly who she was. She had to be one of those silly women that used every opportunity they got to try and meet privately with Nolan. It wasn't the first time the King threw a party and the female guests snuck upstairs to find Nolan's room, hoping to get laid by the Prince they adored the most.

He cringed his nose at the mere thought of it. He just couldn't believe someone that beautiful was that stupid.

"Don't worry, you're in the right spot, he should be heading up here any moment from now so you can get undressed and get comfortable on his bed, trust you'll both have a good time." He replied with a sneer and Audrey was a bit taken aback by how harsh his tone was.

"Excuse me?"

"You're not deaf are you, I said you're in the right room so get naked and wait." He snapped as he pointed at the door beside them.

A frown creased Audrey's brows but even with her frown, she still looked so beautiful. Her eyes turned fierce as she shot him a glare.

"Excuse you," she snapped, her hands planted on her waist as she took a defensive stance in front of him, "I didn't know the men in Wales were so rude. If you can't show me the way then you could have just said so rather than…"

"I just did! I just fucking did! You're standing right in front of his room." He yelled.

"Whose room? Are you nuts or something?"

"Nuts?!" Prince Arthur stared back at her in shock. She was the first woman he had ever met that had dared to talk back to him and he didn't like that one bit, he enjoyed how people always cowered in fear and never had a reply to whatever he said but she was different.

Rather than being ashamed of herself and scurrying off, she stood her ground and glared up at him as if he wasn't towering above her in the most intimidating manner.

"Did you just call me Nuts?" His voice shook dangerously.

"Yes, I did and you're not going to do anything about it because it is the truth. You don't just tell a lady to get naked and…"

"A lady?" He scoffed out loud, "look at you, standing out here like a cheap whore waiting for someone that is most likely going to use you and toss you aside like a piece of trash." He clapped back.

He took a step forward, eating up the distance between them and bringing his face so close to hers that she could feel every inch of her body respond to the unusual proximity.

"Women like you are common around here, pining and dying for a taste of the perfect Prince Nolan so trust me, I know that you're far from being a lady and we both know what really brought you here. You want me to believe you somehow ended up in front of Prince Nolan's room by accident, on your own while everyone is down there at the party," he slowly began to circle her, his eyes taking in the details of every single part of her body.

"You really want him that bad, don't you?"

"I have no idea who or what you think I am but I am not one of those girls you're talking about." She snapped, her brown eyes turning dark as she glared up at him, "you can't just assume because you saw me standing out here and yes, I did end up here by mistake so…"

Lady Audrey was furious without a doubt about how rude and disrespectful he was but Prince Arthur on the other end was barely listening to what she was saying. He was simply just staring at the outspoken woman that was bold enough to talk back at him and the way her eyes darkened in anger was mesmerizing to him to an extent that he almost smiled but he quickly stopped himself.

He was about to say something when they both heard light footsteps behind them so they both glanced towards the direction of the noise just in time to see the guard rushing towards them.

"Lady Audrey! I have been looking all over for you, your father is about to meet with the queen and he needs you in the grand hall immediately." The guard said as he hurried over to stand by her side, slightly bowing his head in acknowledgment of Prince Audrey who was standing in front of her.

He was surprised to hear him call her lady Audrey but he didn't have the chance to say anything before she hurried away with the guard.

Lady Audrey really wanted to give that rude man a piece of her mind but she knew her father needed her the most. She ran as fast as she could even though she knew her father would definitely give her an earful of how a lady should never run but she didn't have a choice. She paused and took a deep breath, even straightened her dress before the guard pushed open the door that led into the grand hall and she stepped in.

"Father." She whispered softly as she slipped into her spot by his side and hooked her arm with his, "sorry I'm late, the hallways were quite confusing and the men here are quite rude."

"What are you talking about Audrey?" Governor Walter asked his beautiful and only daughter. He sighed in relief, happy that she was right on time.

"Nevermind, I am just happy you're right on time, let's go." He added as he began to walk towards the queen with Audrey in his arms.

"Your majesties." Audrey and her father said as they bowed slightly in front of the King and Queen.

"On behalf of my family and everyone in my household, I am here to wish you a happy birthday and present this gift to you in hopes that it would at least put a smile on your face." The governor said and one of his guards stepped forward immediately with a large box.

"Governor Walter," Queen Marina smiled broadly at the box, "it has always been a pleasure seeing you around. Thank you for the gift and I must say, your daughter is just as beautiful as always." She smiled at Audrey who couldn't return the smile because her head was still bowed.

As soon as the Queen accepted the gift, Governor Walter started a conversation with the King and Queen so Audrey slipped away to have a word with the guard that had found her earlier on.

Prince Nolan watched her walk across the hall and a smile appeared on his face as he imagined the beautiful woman on her knees in front of him, naked with her mouth filled to the brim with his cock.

He grinned to himself at the mere thought of it before he began to walk towards her. It was impossible to not notice Audrey, she was the most beautiful woman in the room.

"Do you know who he is? The jerk you found me with earlier." Lady Audrey asked the guard and he nodded.

"You mean Prince Arthur?"

"Prince? That jerk is a Prince?"

"And may I ask what a beautiful lady like you wants with someone like Arthur." Prince Nolan suddenly spoke up behind her, startling lady Audrey.

"Your highness." She bowed her head slightly as soon as she turned around and her eyes landed on Prince Nolan. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to…"

"No, no, don't get me wrong. Arthur can be a pain in the ass. Sadly, he is my brother so I know, I hope he didn't do anything terrible this time around." Nolan said and that made sense to Lady Audrey, the man she had met really sounded like a trouble maker.

"Please tell me he didn't try to bully you?" Prince Nolan asked with a look of worry on his face and Lady Audrey scoffed in disgust.

She should have known he was a bully when he suddenly raised his voice at her. She hissed in anger at the thought of him before she glanced up at Nolan with a wide smile on his face.

"Nothing at all." She replied with an ever wider smile and he stretched out his hand for her to take it.

"I'm Prince Nolan and if you don't mind me asking for a dance?" He asked and even though Audrey hated dancing, she had no choice but to take his hand, not after her father had pleaded with her to be on her best behavior at the Queen's party.
