David steadied himself as the first demon came in at inhuman speed, trying to claw his body.
His only reference to fighting was with video games, movies and too many tv shows.
However, he felt his actions were guided by the armor, causing him to swiftly thrust his sword into the demon's chest.
Instantly, the demon disappeared into ash and smoke; its physical form had taken too much damage.
The other demons did not relent; instead, even more came to attack.
Smaller demons imps the size of toddlers with a humanoid frame as well as wings and a scorpion tail, try to surround and tackle him to the ground so that they can rip him apart.
But their strength was not enough to even topple him over. To David, it felt more like bugs were trying to swarm him than anything.
"Get off!" He began to swat them away from himself, and while his strength made this easy, more just kept coming.
"Would you like to activate Blaster Set Power: [Speech of Authority E+]? This costs 1 Mana."
"Oh uh sure?"

In an instant, radiant blue light erupted from the armor, causing all of the imps to be forcefully pushed away by an invisible force.
"Woah! That's so cool! Can I see the other powers?"
David dashed ahead towards the more powerful demons that were still attacking the students and the officials from the government.
"Warning D Rank demons detected; they far outstrip this suit's current output. I recommend to not engage with them."
He sighed for a moment, stopping in front of a demon that resembled a bear with red fur and blazing eyes.

He raised his sword, aiming it at the demon before him; in an instant, a great beam of blue light was shot from the blade.
It crashed into the demon, completely covering it in the light before it disintegrated into dust.
"What the…" A familiar voice spoke behind David, causing him to look back and see it was Jacob.
He was utterly gobsmacked with a look of surprise on his face. He also seemed to be quite injured, and several scars and burns were on his body from fighting.
While he was B Rank in terms of System, that only denotes the maximum potential of what you could become if you level up.
Of course, you could reach beyond that, but only up to a + in your Max Rank.
The more you leveled up, the harder it was to grow, requiring more dangerous and potent means.
However, in a school environment, even one heavily funded, this would only help the students go as far as getting E+ powers or skills and at most around D levels
But usually only those whose potential that the school and government agreed is crucial would get that far in a few years.
Jacob was probably one of those few.
"Who… are you?"
This was his chance, a moment to reveal himself and see the look upon his face.
"New Mission Added: Do not reveal your identity for the duration of this event. As long as you do, your powers and boosted Attributes become D Rank."
"…" David took a deep breath, silently cursing himself. That was unfair, the entire point of this power was so that he could show he was better!
"I am your Savior, do not forget that."
He turned around, not bothering with Jacob as he felt an immense power course through him, immediately it was like he could break down anything in his way.
"Alright… maybe that was worth it-"
"Kyaaa!" A scream echoed throughout the stadium, instantly he recognized it as Mary as a large demon in the shape of a massive toad with wings tried to use its tongue to grab her.
Without a second to lose, he yelled out.
"Initiate Boost!"

Suddenly, David's legs glowed blue as he raced ahead in Mach speeds, leaving behind a sonic boom.
He swung his sword upwards, cutting off the demon's tongue in one swift motion.
Then he quickly twirled around, slashing off a leg before doing a summersault and completely beheading the foul demon, causing them to discorporate.
David turned to Mary, who was on the floor, heavily injured and clearly nearly out of Mana already. He wanted to tell her who he was, but if he wanted to keep her safe, he couldn't reveal anything.
"I will get you out of here, don't worry." He raised his hand towards her, but she stood up, shaking her head.
"Y-You have to get the others out of here first!" She then looked to the students she was trying to evacuate, there were dozens to maybe even half a hundred of them behind her.
None of them were really worth anything, all probably E to D Rank. He didn't really know about them so he didn't care enough to want to save them.
"New Mission Added: Save all students with Mary. For each student successfully saved, you gain 1 D Mana back; this can overflow."
On second thought, he was going to save all of them.
"Never fear, all of you are safe with me."
He then raised his sword and thought of a cool way to use the Speech of Authority power, activating it he yelled out.
"Gather around me!"

Immediately, he glowed blue as all of the students behind Mary, including herself, were then neatly arranged behind David as if an invisible force moved them.
"Good, everyone, follow me!"
He ran, although now slowed down as he needed to keep an eye on all of the students.
Each time he saw or sensed a demon getting close by, he jumped into action, cutting them down with ease.
When they got to the exit, David saw how it was reduced to rubble, but that did not dissuade him at all.
He raised up his sword and yelled out. "Blast Blade Beam!"

Immediately his sword fired out a blue light that disintegrated the rubble, allowing a clear exit way for the students.
"Go go go!"
Mary began to usher them out, and each time one of them left, David saw his mana bar fill up until it was:

"Nice, should be useful for later."
"W-who are you?" Mary's voice surprised him as he took a quick look at her.
"…I'm the one who has and will save all of you. Go now, take care of the others. I shall handle this."
He turned around and tried to look as cool as possible before he started to walk towards the stage yet again.
"Warning if the Portal continues to open, higher ranked enemies shall appear. I recommend to close it as soon as possible."
"Yeah and how exactly am I going to do that?"
"Get rid of all of the demons surrounding the portal, and then divert as much mana as you can with the others into closing it."
"Hmmm… sounds easy enough. Alright then…"
David twirled his sword and jumped into action.
"Let's get this party started!"
