Chapter 1 - THE REBIRTH

Chapter 1 - The Rebirth

Horuma's Death

The rain fell heavily over Tokyo, turning the already busy streets into a sea of colorful umbrellas and distorted reflections in the headlights. Horuma Akihiro hurried, his schoolbag swinging as he tried to cross the street before the light turned red. He barely noticed the change to a red light, until he heard the unmistakable screeching of tires behind him.

He turned quickly, but not fast enough. The headlights of a car blinded him for a brief moment, and before he could even react, the world around him went dark.

He felt no pain, just a deep emptiness followed by a strange sensation of lightness, as if he were floating. When he opened his eyes, what he saw was no longer the cold asphalt of Tokyo, but an immense white void that stretched as far as his eyes could see.

— "What... what's happening?" — He tried to get up, but instead of a physical body, it felt as though he were merely a consciousness floating. His voice echoed back to him, directionless, as if he were speaking to himself.

Suddenly, a figure appeared before him. It was a woman wrapped in a white and golden cloak, with eyes that glowed like stars.

— "You've died, young one." — Her voice was calm but carried a distant wisdom.

— "I died...?" — Horuma blinked, confused. — "This doesn't make sense. I..."

— "It was an accident. But your fate doesn't end here. You've been chosen to reincarnate in a different world."

— "Reincarnate? How... why?" — He was completely stunned, not knowing whether he could believe what he was hearing.

The woman smiled gently, almost as if she already knew everything.

— "You have a strong spirit, Horuma. And this new world needs someone like you. Your journey is just beginning."

Before Horuma could ask more questions, he was engulfed by an intense light, and the sensation of disappearing overtook him. It felt as though he were being pulled into a new existence.

The Rebirth

When Horuma opened his eyes again, everything seemed different. He was no longer in the endless void, but in a cozy environment, surrounded by unfamiliar voices.

— "It's a boy!" — A man's voice sounded excited and full of joy.

— "He has silver hair... how rare!" — The woman's voice was soft but tired, and there was a clear tone of love in her words.

Horuma blinked, trying to comprehend what was happening. He realized that he was in a tiny body, a baby, unable to do anything except observe the world around him. His hands were being held by something warm, and when he looked up, he saw the face of a woman with golden hair smiling at him.

— "My little Horuma... you will be our light." — The woman's voice, sweet and comforting, seemed to penetrate his soul.

Though completely powerless, a curious feeling grew inside him. He thought to himself, "I've been reborn... and now... what happens?"

The New Reality

The first months of life in his new body were a mixture of confusion and acceptance. Horuma was trapped in a body that didn't obey his commands, and his thoughts seemed to wander in a world where he could do nothing but observe. The frustration was great, but little by little, he began to understand what was around him.

The word "mana" was constantly mentioned, and although he was still too young to fully understand, he saw his mother summon small lights that floated around, a type of magic that seemed to have the power to calm him whenever he cried.

As time passed, Horuma began to get used to his new reality. He discovered that he was born into the House of Lunaris, a noble family that, although still holding a certain social standing, was in decline due to monster attacks. His father, Lord Ardan, was a strict but fair man who spent his days trying to restore the house's honor.

By the time he was two years old, Horuma did something no one expected: he summoned his first magical sphere of light. He was in his crib, looking at the ceiling, when, instinctively, he raised his hand. A small sphere of light appeared in the air, floating above him.

— "Is this... divine magic?" — His mother exclaimed, surprised but also filled with hope.

From that moment, it was clear that Horuma was not an ordinary child.

At Five Years Old

By the time he was five, Horuma had already become something of a local legend. His ability to learn was almost supernatural, and he excelled in everything he did, whether it was magic or physical training. The child, barely old enough to comprehend the world, already showed signs of being a force to be reckoned with.

On a warm afternoon, he was in the mansion's garden trying to recreate a spell he had read in his mother's books. Liliana, his older sister, watched him from a distance, arms crossed.

— "You never stop, do you?" — She commented, with a light smile on her face.

Horuma looked up and smiled back.

— "If I want to be the greatest mage of all time, I can't waste any time."

Liliana laughed and walked over to him, messing with his silver hair.

— "You're so full of yourself."

— "Only because I know I'm good." — Horuma replied with a mischievous smile.

But while they were playing, something disturbing happened. A monstrous shadow appeared at the edge of the garden. It was a creature from the Abyss, drawn to the magical energy Horuma unknowingly emitted.

The Climax of the Chapter

The creature, with sharp claws and fiery eyes, advanced toward them. Liliana screamed, trying to pull Horuma away, but he stood firm.

— "Stay behind me, Lili." — He said, his voice serious and determined.

— "Horuma, you're just a child! You can't..." — She tried to protest, but Horuma interrupted her.

Without hesitation, he raised his hand and conjured a barrier of light, just like he had when he was still a baby. The creature struck the barrier with force but couldn't break through.

With visible effort, Horuma gathered his mana and, with a silent scream, cast an even stronger spell. A wave of intense light shot toward the creature, destroying it instantly.

When the battle was over, Horuma collapsed to his knees, exhausted but victorious. He looked at Liliana, who was hugging him tightly.

— "I think I'll do well in this world." — He said, panting but with a satisfied smile.
