"Eldest Young Master!?"
A soldier passed through the thick forest shrubbery, his expression worried.
"What was that large explosion earlier!? And who are these two!??"
The soldier's battle-hardened eyes narrowed at the two pretty girls. And when nearly a dozen other soldiers also exited the forest shrubbery, they too narrowed their eyes at the girls.
They had clearly heard what was said.
Following through with the script, I scurried away from the scary girls and hid behind a soldier. I pointed at the girls, forcing a tremor to make my hand appear shaky.
Nailed it!
But not yet…
There was one more thing I needed to do to truly make everything come together!
"T-There," I whimpered, "They've been bullying me… See the pointy sword and the crater…? They want to kill me! Boohoo!"
What did the members of the Falazar Family know me—their Eldest Young Master—as?
A mentally impaired cripple!
According to the rumors in circulation, that was exactly who I was!
Play the victim card! Play, play, play it till it runs out of uses!
"You actually have the gall to strike out at our Eldest Young Master!?" The first soldier shouted, his Peak Foundation Establishment Realm Cultivation suffocating his surroundings. "Are you actively seeking death….!? Tell me! Tell me who you two are! To die by my blade, I must know your names!"
No, you buffoon! Don't do that!
This was the one thing that Knox Falazar—the one who knocks first—had failed to account for.
"I am Yennefer, and this is Sammy. We are both daughters to the line of succession in the Berkshire Household."
Context!
Damnit!! Why did that idiotic soldier have to ask questions and fill in context!??
The first soldier, as well as all the rest of them, turned their heads toward their Eldest Young Master.
Just based on their blank expressions, it was obvious that I'd be receiving no assistance today…
"So it's just a lover's spat," the first soldier said with a knowing look.
The other soldiers also nodded in agreement, already returning to whence they came.
"What do you guys want for dinner? I was thinking the noodle joint on Sleeping Dragon Street."
"Sounds good to me."
"Same here."
No, you f*cking bastards!*
To betray and abandon your Eldest Young Master like this—just what sort of backstabbing soldiers are you!??
"So we've been bullying you, huh?"
There it was—the voice of the Devil!
"Get away from me, crazy woman!" I shouted, picking up a stick and making my retreat.
With my speed, I was able to move like a phantasmal banshee.
And within mere seconds, I managed to flee thousands of meters.
The forest, although small by this world's standards, would undoubtedly be seen as massive if compared to somewhere like Earth.
"She can't possibly catch up to me now!"
I jinxed it…
SHING!
Trees were cleaved in half in a fan-shaped direction for nearly an entire mile!
A good chunk of the forest experienced a period of loud, resounding thuds as the upper halves of trees crashed to the ground!
"T…This crazy hoe," I muttered, stopping just to verify that my head was still intact.
"You survived that one as well?"
A feminine voice trailed out as a heavenly figure hovered a few dozen meters away. Both her grace and bearing created a stark contrast with her immense killing intent as she neared Knox.
"Although you don't seem to be the crippled trash that everyone makes you out to be, let us see just how long your luck can hold up."
"No! F*ck you, bitc—"
Before I could get out my well-mannered and perfectly reasonable response to this unreasonable situation, another arc of sword light wheezed.
But this time, instead of just one sword arc, there appeared multiple of them!
SHING! SHING! SHING!
"Give me a break!" I shouted as I ran in the opposite direction of the rainfall of sword arcs.
However, seeing as how they were catching up to me—and fast—I stopped to rethink my life decisions.
"I also wonder what I'll be having for dinner tonight. What do you think sounds better? Turkey or chicken?"
Yennefer: "...."
"Yeah, you're right," I said, evilly smirking. "I think I'll have you for dinner tonight instead."
As my lecherous eyes looked up and down Yennefer's well-developed figure, a lapse in her judgment was formed, creating an opening.
I quit pretending to be a blazing pervert, with my expression returning to indifference.
*Fwoooop—!*
I sprinted forward, leaving small gusts of wind in my wake.
The sword arcs—still in the process of careening—just barely passed over my head. A few of my hair strands were cut short as I worked my leg muscles to their limits in an attempt to run up a tree and reach the ethereal, floating girl above.
"???"
'Is this idiot insane? I wasn't really trying to kill him, but with that reckless move of his, he could've gotten his head lobbed off…!'
While thinking that this fiancée of hers was completely bonkers, Yennefer used her Innate Energy to restrict everything around her.
Any leaves falling from the trees slowed to a point where it didn't even look like they were moving.
This was her Innate Barrier!
