Chapter 13 - Episode 13: Closing Old Chapters

*An Unexpected Message*

A week after settling into his new job, Rohit received a message from

an unknown number.

Ananya: "Can we meet?"

For a moment, he stared at the screen. No emotions. No anger. Just

indifference.

He debated ignoring it, but something in him wanted to hear what she

had to say—not for closure, but to confirm he no longer needed it.

*The Final Conversation*

They met at a quiet café. Ananya looked the same—polished, elegant,

but there was something off.

She hesitated before speaking. "I saw your resignation letter before I

left. You really left everything behind, huh?"

Rohit sipped his coffee. "Had no reason to stay."

She nodded, playing with the edge of her cup. "I just… wanted to say

I'm sorry."

Rohit leaned back. "For what?"

"For everything. For leaving you the way I did. For choosing the easy

way out."

He chuckled. "Easy way out? You chose the richer way out. Let's not

sugarcoat it."

She flinched but didn't deny it. "I thought I wanted security. But I realized… I lost something real."

Rohit sighed. "You made your choice, Ananya. And honestly? I'm glad

you did. Because if you hadn't, I'd still be stuck trying to prove

myself to someone who never really valued me."

She looked away. "Are you happy?"

He nodded. "For the first time in a long time."

She hesitated. "And… Siya?"

Rohit smirked. "What about her?"

Ananya forced a smile. "Nothing. Just curious."

Rohit checked his watch. "Well, thanks for the apology. I have a night

ride planned."

As he stood up to leave, Ananya whispered, "You really moved on,

didn't you?"

He met her gaze, calm and certain. "Yeah. And you should too."

Without another word, he walked out, feeling lighter than ever.

*A Night Ride & A New Beginning*

That night, Siya met him at their usual spot.

She handed him a helmet. "Where to?"

He smirked. "Anywhere but the past."

As their engines roared into the night, Rohit knew—This was the life

he had been meant to live all along.
