Above the desert, Uriel floated, his golden wings unfurling behind him. His transformation into Tenshi eclipsed the entire landscape, and instantly, the sky darkened, swirling clouds gathering around him. Golden lightning illuminated the horizon, riding the skies like light serpents, a divine fury.
Uriel raised his hands, gathering energy around him. A lightning bolt condensed between his fingers, taking the form of a shimmering lance. His gaze, golden and piercing, swept the battlefield that lay ahead, where thousands of skeletons marched to the assault. A barely audible murmur escaped his lips:
He extended his hand into the air and, as if holding something, he turned it in the opposite direction.
The air around him stretched, as if an invisible force was compressing the atmosphere. An energy emanated from his body, making even Linfer, who was at the same level, shudder. The influence of the law of causality was modifying reality itself.
Linfer, in the distance, furrowed his brows, discomfort growing.
"What are you doing?" he asked, his hoarse voice betraying his surprise.
Uriel smiled without taking his eyes off the skeletons.
"Everything around me within a fifty-kilometer radius is vulnerable. I've inverted their causality. They're no longer different from living beings now. They can still be definitively destroyed by our attacks."
Linfer remained frozen, stunned by the scope and versatility of Uriel's law. He had already seen Uriel disturb senses, invert directions, but this time, the magnitude of his power seemed immense.
'Can he become immortal?' Linfer thought.
"Surprised? Well, I am indeed powerful," Uriel said with a cornered smile before disappearing in a flash.
He reappeared in the midst of the melee, the lightning lance in hand, piercing the skeletons' armor with disconcerting ease. Each lance strike was precise, thunderous. Around him, golden lightning bolts rained down, annihilating everything in their path. The creatures, transformed into vulgar ashes, collapsed under this divine rain.
The Origin 1 and 2 skeletons pressed forward toward him in a sinister rumble. Uriel moved with grace in the midst of this sea of enemies, dodging the sharp claws that sought to tear him apart. His lance traced golden arcs in the air, sweeping away the waves of necrotic attacks without hesitation. Each strike left in its wake a bright lightning trail, pushing back the enemies who tried to envelop him.
At the rear, liches, masters of necromancy, unable to bring back to life those who fell in battle, unleashed arrows and necrotic spells. Their sinister cries rose above the battlefield, but Uriel remained unperturbed.
His eyes, radiating with a golden glow, shone like two lightning bolts themselves, capturing every movement in advance. With a simple lance thrust, he deflected the arrows, reducing them to dust, and then thwarted the spells, his alert mind granting him overwhelming superiority.
In a flash, dozens of skeletons leaped toward him, claws extended, but he needed only one fluid gesture to disarticulate them. An electric rumble accompanied their destruction, the energy of his lance raising the lightning to a point of pure destruction. The ashes of their bones scattered by the wind, Uriel relentlessly continued his murderous ballet.
The liches' attacks darkened the air with their deadly magic, but Uriel, with a simple movement of his lance, dispersed their spells. Golden lightning irradiated around him, eclipsing the necrotic darkness.
Enraged by their own impotence, the liches concentrated their power to try to crush him, but Uriel, with supernatural agility, dodged, creating protective energy circles around himself.
The bones crashed against his golden energy shield, which absorbed the power.
With redoubled power, each strike sent out destructive lightning pulses, destroying everything around. It was an automatic ability of his Causality Shield. The Golden Reverse.
Unperturbed, Uriel continued to push back the waves of creatures, a whirlwind of lightning erupting from his lance. In a few seconds, the skeletons were crushed, their bodies dismembered by the thunderous intensity of his power.
With a roar that tore the sky, Uriel hurled his weapon into the crowd of skeletons. The lightning that erupted from it instantly reduced hundreds of creatures to smoking ashes. Then, with a wide arm movement, he released an electric energy wave that swept across the scorched earth, creating a furnace where the remains of the dead melted under an unbearable heat.
Uriel's lance transformed into an incandescent whip, slicing through the skeletons like vulgar blades of grass, reducing them to nothingness. With a prodigious leap, he soared into the air before landing at the heart of the horde, his aura becoming a whirlwind so powerful that even the creatures animated by necromancy fled his approach. He thrust his lance into the ground, and a network of lightning bolts erupted in all directions, electrifying the earth and pulverizing the legions of the undead across the plain. Hundreds, then thousands, the earth was torn apart with craters.
Uriel landed on his lance, with a graceful air. He opened his arms.
The sky, charged with his power, cleared, and with a simple gesture, he summoned a storm of lightning. Each lightning strike fell, destroying the last standing creatures, dismembering them one by one. Finally, he spun his lance, creating a vortex of pure energy that drew the remains of the skeletons, sucking them like in a maelstrom before reducing them to floating atoms in the air.
Linfer, on the other hand, observed the scene, arms crossed, a mocking smile on his lips. He watched the thousands of skeletons collapse, like grains of sand swept away by a storm. His eyes narrowed as he slowly closed his eyelids, an almost imperceptible sigh escaping his mouth. Then, he cracked his knuckles, a reddish mist spreading around him, extending for dozens of meters.
A dark smile distorted his face as he murmured to himself:
"My turn, Uriel!"
And suddenly, in an infernal rumble, an explosion resounded, sending out a devastating shockwave across the desert, while crimson flames soared into the sky, casting a wave of glowing flames over the entire area, annihilating everything in their path in an infernal whirlwind.
