Chapter Fifteen – A Sister's Warning
Zara's POV
I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my own reflection.
For the first time in a long while, I truly looked at myself.
Dark hair cascaded over my shoulders, tangled from sleep. My silver eyes, usually cold and unreadable, now held something I didn't recognize—something fragile.
But what caught my attention most was my skin.
Or what was left of it.
My body was a map of scars.
Thin, faded lines from years of battles. Jagged marks from training.
But the worst of them—**the freshest wounds—**were from my father's whip.
Angry, red lashes crisscrossed my back, my shoulders, the backs of my arms. Evidence of my punishment.
Evidence of his hatred.
I swallowed hard, running my fingers over the ridges of my skin, flinching at the rawness.
No matter how much time passed, these scars would always be here.
