I stared at the text message, my mind racing with possibilities.
Who could have sent it? And what did they mean by "the truth about Emily"?
I tried to brush it off as a prank, but I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to it.
As the day went on, I found myself glancing at my phone every few minutes, wondering if I would receive another message.
Finally, at 4:45pm, I made my way to the park.
I arrived a few minutes early, looking around nervously.
The park was deserted, except for a figure sitting on a bench in the distance.
As I approached, the figure stood up, revealing a girl with long, blonde hair.
"Who are you?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
"My name is Sarah," she replied. "And I have something important to tell you about Emily."
Sarah glanced around nervously, as if she was afraid of being overheard.
"What is it?" I pressed, my curiosity getting the better of me.
Sarah took a deep breath before speaking.
"Emily's family is hiding something," she said. "Something big."
I felt a shiver run down my spine.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
But before Sarah could answer, we heard the sound of footsteps approaching.
Sarah's eyes widened in fear.
"We have to go," she whispered, grabbing my arm.
And with that, she pulled me away from the bench and into the darkness of the park.
