Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: A Different Kind of Night

Varun sat comfortably on his couch, his glass of whiskey resting lightly in his fingers. The city lights outside his penthouse window flickered, casting a soft glow into the room. Across from him sat the woman he had invited over—a woman who carried herself with confidence, with experience.

She wasn't nervous. She had done this before.

But for Varun, this was new territory.

For months, he had been focused solely on making money, building his empire. He never had time to indulge, to enjoy.

Tonight, that was going to change.

The Price of the Night

He took a sip of his drink before speaking. "How much?"

The woman didn't flinch. "₹1 lakh for the night."

Her tone was professional, direct. She was used to dealing with wealthy men.

But instead of negotiating, Varun picked up his phone, tapped a few buttons, and looked at her.

"I sent ₹10 lakhs."

She raised an eyebrow, clearly caught off guard. "That's… unexpected."

Varun leaned back. "I don't like doing things small."

She smirked, crossing her legs. "Most men try to bargain. You just gave me ten times my price without a second thought."

Varun shrugged. "It's not about the money."

"Then what is it about?" she asked, watching him closely.

He met her gaze, his expression calm. "I just take what I want."

She chuckled softly. "You're different."

"I know," he said, taking another sip of his drink.

A Conversation Between Strangers

She ran a finger along the rim of her glass before asking, "You live here alone?"

Varun nodded.

"Big place. Must get quiet sometimes."

He simply smirked but said nothing.

She didn't push, just studied him for a moment. "You don't talk much, do you?"

Varun shrugged again. "I prefer to listen."

She tilted her head slightly. "Most men like to show off. You're not the bragging type?"

"No need to."

She smiled. "Interesting."

There was a pause before she spoke again. "What do you want tonight, Varun?"

Varun set his drink down and looked at her, his expression unreadable.

"Just do what you do best."

She held his gaze for a second, then smirked. "I can do that."

She stood up and took a step closer.

A Different Kind of Experience

The night unfolded slowly. No rush, no desperation.

For the first time in a long time, Varun let himself enjoy the moment.

This wasn't about money.

It wasn't about proving anything.

It was about taking what he wanted.
