The shadow titan lunged, its massive form blotting out the crimson light of the runes as it brought a colossal, clawed hand down toward them.
Reinhardt barely had time to react. He rolled to the side as the ground shattered beneath the force of the blow, cracks spiderwebbing outward. Dust and magic filled the air, the weight of the entity's power pressing down on him.
Selene raised her hands, dark fire surging forth. The flames lashed against the titan's form, but instead of burning, the creature absorbed them, growing larger.
Selene's eyes widened. "It feeds on magic!"
Reinhardt's grip on his sword tightened. "Then we do this the old way."
He charged.
The titan swung its arm, but this time, he didn't dodge. He twisted his body at the last second, using the momentum to vault onto its arm, sprinting up the shifting mass of shadows toward what should have been its head.
The creature roared, shaking violently to dislodge him. But Reinhardt held on, his boots digging into its unstable form. He raised his sword, aiming for the pulsing core at the center of its chest.
Selene, reading his intent, raised her hands again—not to attack, but to anchor him. Shadowy tendrils wrapped around his legs, steadying him as he drove his blade forward.
The sword pierced deep.
For a moment, everything was still.
Then—the titan screamed.
Its entire body convulsed, its form splitting apart, unraveling as the throne's power began to collapse.
Selene's magic snapped back as the force threw them both across the chamber. Reinhardt hit the ground hard, his vision spinning, but he forced himself up just in time to see—
The Hollow Seat crumbling.
The obsidian throne, once a beacon of power, fractured down the middle, releasing a shockwave that ripped through the temple. The titan gave one last distorted wail before it, too, was consumed by the implosion.
Reinhardt turned to Selene. "We have to go—now!"
She didn't argue. Together, they sprinted for the archway, leaping through just as the entire chamber collapsed behind them, swallowed by darkness.
They tumbled into the open, the temple now silent. The Hollow Seat was no more.
Selene lay on her back, breathing heavily. After a long moment, she turned her head toward him and smirked. "So… next time, let's not anger a throne, shall we?"
Reinhardt let out a breathless chuckle, staring up at the sky. The weight of what had just happened settled in his chest.
The Hollow Seat was gone.
But something told him this was only the beginning.
