Chapter 1 - 001

"That's a dangerous plan, my child."

The small, shining and floating ball of light murmurs in a soft voice.

"I know."

Across the shining ball of light, a platinum-haired young man with obsidian-colored eyes is standing. His exquisite face is illuminated by the natural light.

"The God of Balance wouldn't let you."

"Why?"

"She's your Grandmother after all."

The young man scowls and merely shakes his head.

"She wasn't, and will never be."

The shining ball or the God of Hope instantly went quiet.

"That old lady is scared of my inherited authority, just like your power of hope."

The young man couldn't help to snicker at the thought of the old lady getting vigilant toward him.

"God cannot die, but that old lady 'killed' my parents in the name of world balance!"

He grinds his teeth in an attempt to control his outraging emotions. His gaze held injustice and sadness as he looked towards the shining and floating small ball of light.

"Noona, you know it, so do I. I'm different."

He is born and raised as a mortal with a broken family on modern Earth, his only comfort is reading fictional books like one of his favorite novels, titled 'Trash of the Count's Family' and because of an unforeseen incident, heddies and is reincarnated.

He was born again, this time not as a mortal, but as a god.

The God of Order and God of Harmony are his second-life parents, they gave him a chance to live and to feel the love of family.

Gods are not born and cannot conceive a child, so using their combined authority, they called his soul but in exchange for their action, they broke one of the world's rules.

The day came by and it was his happiest day with his new parents.

And after a year with his new family, the God of Balance appears and destroys his sole happiness.

Only his parents and the God of Hope knew his true origin, but even with their cautiousness, the primordial God of Balance managed to know his hidden existence but not the truth about his origin.

Only single-lifers, also known as tribulators, or variables can become gods and he, an unusual variable.

"Don't let hatred consume you, your parents would be heartbroken if it happens."

His Noona, the God of Hope softly whispered, waking him from his reverie.

"I forgive, but I will not forget."

"It seems I won't be able to change your mind."

"I'm a stubborn person, you know it."

The shining ball twinkled in amusement at what it heard.

In far away distance, the sound of clicking heels echoed but with each passing second it grew closer.

"I have to go now."

"Goodbye, Noona"

The God of Hope's figures became faint and flickered until the ball of light completely extinguished.

Not even a minute has passed, a sound of heels echoes then a female figure appears.

"Do not raise your head."

The tone was calm and gentle but stubborn at the same time.

Involuntary, he lowers his head, and he stiffens like a statue.

The old lady's voice continues to speak.

"You're becoming disobedient, learning to defy my rules."

The God of Balance's oppressive yet gentle tone whispered towards him.

"Let's go back."

"I won't."

The old woman's figure stilled, Stunned by what she heard. Her penetrating gaze travels to the young man.

"What?"

"I said, I Won't."

His determined eyes looked towards her.

A small crack appears on his neck and continuously travels around his body.

"..."

----------

"Your parents know this day would come when you could no longer hide from the prying gaze of gods."

"What is it, Noona?"

The young man tilted his head in confusion.

"It's time for you to die."

"!?"

"Your current vessel is incomplete, it can't hold the awakening divinity, for you to stabilize, you need a god's plate"

The young man nodded his head at the familiar term he read from the novel.

"To summarize it, you don't have a god's plate, so your parents created a perfect body and gave their plate to you."

"..."

"The moment your current vessel 'dies' you'll be reborn as a new divinity, do you like it?"

A wave of sorrow washed over him, his lips trembled and his eyes welled up, as the tears threatened to fall.

"This was your parent's choice. As a God is a solitary being, Order and Harmony choose to have you even knowing the consequences. You're the product of their love and sacrifice."

----------

Like a porcelain doll that lost its foundation, the small crack expanded in a spiderweb pattern.

"What are you doing!?"

The God of Balance's calm voice quivered in unknown emotion.

"The day you 'killed' my parents, why did you leave me behind? And now I'll follow them into eternal slumber. Farewell, Old lady"

The previous exquisite figure of the young man, lost its radiance and the once beautiful obsidian-colored eyes became dull and colorless.

His vessel disintegrated, the ash disappeared and only a single figure remains.

Watching the scene unfold. The God of Balance gazes at the endless boundary.
