Hani sat on the edge of her bed, her eyes fixed on the laces of her sneakers as she struggled to tie them. Her mouth was occupied with a half-eaten slice of bread, which made her look like a hurried mess. Suddenly, her alarm clock on the nightstand sprang to life, blaring a loud, piercing sound that made Hani jump.
In a panic, she quickly finished tying her shoes, her fingers moving swiftly as she simultaneously stuffed the last bite of bread into her mouth. She leapt off the bed, almost choking on the bread as she rushed towards the door. Her shoes were still a bit loose, but she didn't have time to adjust them.
As she reached the door, she grabbed her bag and keys, and with a swift motion, she locked the door behind her. She took a deep breath, feeling a bit more composed now that she was out of the apartment. With a quick glance at her watch, she realized she was running late, and she took off in a hurried sprint down the hallway.
