Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Dual Wielding, Isn't It Beautiful?

The Blue-Faced Ghost was completely stunned, overwhelmed by a sense of defeat as its intelligence was utterly crushed. Furious, it almost went berserk. Damn it, when I catch that little bastard, I'll eat him alive right in front of him, piece by piece. He won't die too quickly.

It suddenly spread the two pairs of dragonfly-like wings on its back and flew into the air, chasing after Ye Yun with a vicious look in its eyes. If the hatred in its gaze could be transformed into a beam of energy, Ye Yun would've been dead at least a hundred times over by now.

"Big brother, is it really necessary to chase me this relentlessly?" Ye Yun almost knelt in disbelief.

What the hell, you can fly? Referee, that's cheating! I thought we agreed no flying tools in this match!

"System, is the skill cooldown over yet?" Ye Yun asked.

"Still a minute left. But didn't you unlock another skill?" The system responded with contempt.

Ah, right, Ye Yun suddenly remembered. He had unlocked a skill—Rocket Artillery. He froze for a moment, smacked his head, and realized.

So why the hell was I running? I could've been alternating skills! Right hand Flame Bullet, left hand Rocket Artillery. Dual wielding! Isn't that beautiful?!

Ye Yun halted abruptly, turned around with confidence, and said, "I, Ye Aotian, have returned. You better prepare to die!"

A ball of fire appeared in front of Ye Yun's chest, gradually condensing into the shape of an arrow.

Again? The Blue-Faced Ghost felt insulted. Although it wasn't a Saint Seiya warrior, such a crude move could not fool it twice. Die, little brat!

Like a hawk spotting its prey, the Blue-Faced Ghost dove down from the air, using the downward momentum to unleash the strongest slash of its life.

A cruel, sinister smile spread across its blue face as it thought to itself: This human is at his end. He will be reduced to mere flesh mingling with the earth! How laughable, you little insect!

Suddenly, a streak of fire shot across its vision like a meteor, trailing a dazzling red tail.

The next moment, its smile froze on its face. Why does my chest hurt so much?

It struggled to look down, only to see a fiery arrow embedded in its chest. The overwhelming power of the arrow had pierced its heart, leaving a smoldering wound.

The Blue-Faced Ghost collapsed, life flickering out. In its final moments, its thoughts churned: I've been deceived. That human can actually cast magic. Mom was right—human mages are truly cunning and treacherous. He had the power to kill me all along, but chose to play the fool and deceive me.

"Ugh..."

The Blue-Faced Ghost let out a final mournful howl, its voice filled with despair and resentment toward Ye Yun. Ye Yun, startled by the scream, thought for a moment that the creature might explode in a dramatic last-ditch attempt to survive.

"Congratulations, host! You've successfully hunted the Blue-Faced Ghost, earning your first kill. You are rewarded with 100 evolution points (It's pretty hard to kill a mere servant-level Karlos, huh? You're really weak)."

The system's notification rang in his ears, and Ye Yun realized the creature was already dead. He ignored the latter half of the system's message. After all, this was his first battle against a Karlos. He felt he'd done quite well, especially considering he hadn't turned into a trembling mess of fear and lost all courage to run.

"This night is so damn exciting. My nightlife is finally becoming colorful and full of surprises," Ye Yun wiped the sweat from his forehead, self-mocking.

In the past, when he was bored, he often fantasized about living a life like the protagonists in novels—full of adventure and excitement. But when that day finally arrived, he realized that he was hardly prepared. What's more, there's no "quit" option anymore.

Quitting meant cowardice. And in battle, the fate of the coward is always the same: death.
