Chapter 14 - Reverse Parturition

Arthur's quantumized fingers inserted into the ruptured umbilical cord, and time began to reverse the birthing process. He curled up inside his mother's womb, but the amniotic fluid was a CR-2049 metallic solution, and the four-dimensional ultrasound revealed Raymond adjusting the quantum forceps through the uterine wall.

"Cognitive retrogression activated." Jasmine fragrance spilled out from the umbilical blood, forming memory projections: In the delivery room of 1905, Mary Claude did not give birth naturally — Raymond used his mechanical prosthetic limbs to dissect her quantumized womb and extract the embryo-like prototype of the time machine. The flesh, named AC-0001, gazed at its future self inside a glass vessel.

Suddenly, a star map appeared on the inner wall of the womb. Arthur's fetal body slid into a wormhole along the superfluid amniotic fluid. As time reversed, he saw twenty versions of himself being delivered by Raymonds from different timelines, each infant's fontanel implanted with a micro-CR-2049 chip. The oldest Arthur suddenly opened his eyes, and the chip on his forehead burst with electric light: "We are the cancerous tissue of Mary's womb; Erin is her true child."

The quantum forceps suddenly clamped down on Arthur's right leg, pulling him into Mary's sea of consciousness. Here, countless memory placental fragments floated, each displaying scenes of Erin's growth — under the illusion of the "natural human" created by Raymond, every one of her birthdays involved neural surgery.

"Reverse birthing completion 98%." Raymond's voice came from the cervix. Arthur saw his fetal body begin to evaporate. He used the umbilical cord to crush the nearest memory placenta, but what burst out was the scene from their wedding day: beneath Erin's wedding dress was a caesarean scar, and the rose in her bouquet was connected to Mary's brainstem nerves.

When time reversed to the moment of conception, Arthur saw the terrifying truth under the quantum microscope — the so-called "father's sperm" was actually a time machine part that Raymond had brought from 1905. Mary's egg had been modified into a miniature universe, with each ovulation cycle giving birth to a new parallel timeline.

The delivery room suddenly collapsed in quantum form, and Arthur fell into Erin's uterine universe. Here, twelve bronze embryos floated, their umbilical cords connecting to various murder scenes from different timelines. The largest embryo suddenly ruptured, and an elderly version of himself crawled out, covered in CR-2049 components, with Raymond's handwritten instructions tattooed across his chest: "Ensure that all Erins die at 03:15."

At this moment, jasmine fragrance solidified into a physical dagger, and Arthur pierced the boundary of the uterine universe. In the torrent of amniotic fluid, he saw Raymond placing the infant Erin into Mary's quantum womb, while the real Mary had long been turned into a biological incubator in 1905.

As the reverse birthing process completed, Arthur awoke in the real world, holding the bloodied forceps. The cryogenic chamber's Erin clone was dissipating, and her final smile perfectly mirrored the expression of Mary on the delivery bed. The quantum clock suddenly jumped back to the beginning of human birth, and Raymond's voice echoed from the void: "Now, let us begin a new civilization."
