Chapter 9 - Ninth Message

You had planned to talk it out on the date, really.

But now, you were leaning weakly against the couch, covering your stomach and frowning tightly. Slowly breathing in and out, still nothing helped. Your cell phone vibrated and you barely managed to hold your eyes open, it was a message from him.

"I'm here," the CEO's car was already waiting for you.

"Might not be able to make it today..."

The message had just sent out, and within seconds, the CEO's phone call came in. This time, he's not just using that anonymous program to contact you.

"Hello..."You sound a bit feeble.

"What's wrong? Sick?"He sounded worried about you.

You were tempted to brace yourself and go on a date with him, but you couldn't manage it, "Period cramps..."

There's a moment of silence on the other end of the line, followed by his direct question, "Which floor? Number?"

You didn't respond for a moment, "...What?"

"What floor? Number?"

"No need...I'll just take a break."You subconsciously declined.

He repeated it again, with a firmer attitude than just now, "Wait for me."

You sighed helplessly and gave your floor number.

Half an hour later, the doorbell rang. His anxious voice spoke through the door, "It's me."

You walked slowly towards the door, your feet heavy, and when you opened the door and looked up, you happened to see him standing outside the door, a large bag of things in his hands, his face a little more serious than usual, a little less distant.

He didn't say much, walked right in and put the things on the table, "This is a hot water bag, ginger tea, painkillers and some sanitary pads."

You closed the door and stared at him blankly, "Why did you..."

"Sit down and drink something hot first."He didn't answer directly, a hint of a commanding tone in his tone.

You hesitated for a moment, but eventually accepted the ginger tea obediently and sat down on the couch to take a small sip. The warm liquid slid down your throat with a slight hint of spice, relaxing your tense body a little.

"Hot water bag to use? Need painkillers?"

Before you could answer, he went into the kitchen to boil hot water. You watch as he poured the water into the bag and covered it, and a few minutes later, the warm hot water bag is gently placed into your arms, "Cover it."

You cradled the hot water bag as he sat down and continued to bring out the contents of the bag, different lengths of day and night pads.

"I didn't understand which one you preferred to use, so I searched online to find out which one was better and bought the different lengths."

"Well, this looks good..."You're a little embarrassed.

"That's normal, no need to be embarrassed."He explains to you seriously.

"Well..."The ache was stubbornly present and you bending your back to scrunched up.

He reached for the pill box and picked it up, glancing at the instructions before holding out the pills, "Have breakfast, right? Take your pills?"

You hesitated and looked up at him, "Had breakfast, no need for pills...Just take a break."

His eyes fell on you, "Take it if it hurts, that's what the doctor said."

You took the pill, took a sip of water and swallowed it, whispering, "Why are you more nervous than I am?"

"Don't want to see you feel bad."He grunted softly.

You were a little uncomfortable, "You didn't have to do this."

He gave you a sideways glance and said lightly, "We have a date."

You froze.

He leaned over slightly, his elbows propped on his knees, his gaze stoic as he looked at you, a smirk at the corners of his lips, "Just a change of place."

----------------

The pain faded and you feel relaxed.

"Want to go lie down on the bed?"He sat and watched you, still not quite at ease.

You shook your head, "Resting here is fine."

As if he was gauging your state, he saw your hesitation and, expecting you to be stubborn, suddenly picked you up in a cross-armed hug.

You let out a gasp of surprise when you were caught off guard, wrapping your arms around his neck and feeling the heat of his body, "I can do it myself..."

"Save your energy."He ignored your protests and didn't allow you to refuse, walking at a steady pace towards the half-open bedroom door.

You were held in his arms, closed to his warm body heat, and you could hear his heartbeat... It seems to be as disorganized as you are.

He carefully laid you on the bed, pulling the covers over your stomach to make sure you didn't catch cold.

"Does it still hurt?"He looked down at you, his tone unconsciously softened.

"Much better..."The medicine took effect and the pain in your belly was much better, only the physical exhaustion could not be dispelled.

The warm body was no longer in contact with you, and you felt a little disappointed, you were fond of the warmth from earlier.

"You rest first."He leaned over and adjusted the position of your pillow again, trying to get you to lie more comfortably.

With your eyes half-open, you saw him sit down on the edge of the bed, his palm gently covering your covers, "I'll stay here with you, sleep."

Indescribable emotions flooded through you, it seemed good to stay quiet like this.

----------------

Exhaustion putting you to sleep quickly as he walked towards the window and drew the curtains, darkening the room.

Half asleep, a light touch fell on your face, you weren't sure if you were dreaming or not, but the temperature reassured you. You didn't open your eyes, you just leaned in the direction of that warmth.

There was a very soft sigh in the darkness, and he rubbed his thumb helplessly over your cheek.

Then the door was gently closed and the room returned to silence.

You woke up feeling much better, the covers tucked in carefully and the warmth still lingering. You faintly hear the sound of spatulas clattering from the kitchen.

You getting out of bed and walking to the door.

In the kitchen, he was looking down at the soup, and a few simple meals have been prepared on the table. Noticing your gaze, he raised his eyes to look at you, "Hungry?"

You were just about to say something when he put down the spoon and walked towards you, making sure you were okay, "All good? Will you still be tired?"

You nodded, gesturing to the meal on the table, "Well, not really tired anymore, you're more tired than me like this..."

"No, as long as you're better."He took your hand and leading you over to sit down.

Holding the warm bowl of soup, your heart felt like it had been gently touched by something.

"So, what does this mean?"You put the spoon down and your eyes met his.

"Hm? What?"He didn't understand your question.

"Our relationship."You tensed, your fingertips curling slightly into fists.

"We didn't have a deal to come?"The CEO realized your question, though said it was serious but didn't seem set on the relationship himself?

"No...It's like, unclear."Your voice is not loud but the clarity of the words is too much to ignore.

The CEO : Oh no.

"It's my fault for not making the relationship clear and making you uneasy."He never ran away from the matter, he just didn't understand the relationship that well.

"I'm serious. I like you, are you willing to accept my feelings?"He looked at you seriously.

"...What do you say?"Getting the words out, you shy away again.

"You know I want to hear it."

"Yes..."

His hand suddenly gripped yours, making you look at him, "Do you like me?"

"I like you."

Lips intertwined with hot breath and the scent of rice, mmm...It tasted weird.
