Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The Descent into Darkness

Karl walked through the school gates, his eyes scanning the familiar surroundings. It had been a year since the incident with Richard, and Karl had tried to move on with his life. But the memories of that day still lingered, and Karl couldn't help but wonder what had become of his former friend.

As he walked through the corridors, Karl caught sight of Richard being bullied by a group of students. The scene was eerily familiar, and Karl felt a pang of sadness and regret. He had tried to help Richard once, but it seemed that his efforts had been in vain.

The bullying continued, with Richard taking the blows silently. Karl watched, feeling helpless and aid-less. He knew that he couldn't intervene, not after what had happened last time.

As the days went by, Karl noticed that Richard's situation was deteriorating rapidly. He was failing his classes, and his behavior was becoming increasingly erratic. It seemed that Richard was losing his grip on reality.

And then, one day, Richard failed his 12th class exams. He left the school, and Karl lost track of him.

Months went by, and Karl heard rumors that Richard was working as a slave laborer. Karl was horrified, but he couldn't do anything to help. He was too afraid of being rejected or hurt again.

But then, one day, Karl saw Richard begging for money on the streets. His eyes were sunken, his skin was pale, and his clothes were tattered. Karl felt a pang of sadness and regret, but he didn't approach Richard. He just kept walking, feeling helpless and guilty.

Two months later, Karl saw Richard again. This time, he was committing a robbery, threatening innocent people with a knife. Karl was shocked and horrified, and he didn't know what to do.

The police arrived soon, and Richard was arrested. Karl watched as his former friend was taken away, feeling a mix of emotions: sadness, regret, and relief.

Two years went by, and Karl heard that Richard had been released from prison. He was now back on the streets, begging for money.

Karl saw Richard again, and this time, he felt a pang of sadness and regret. He remembered that he was now earning ₹20,00,00,000 per month, and he felt guilty for not being able to help Richard.

So Karl decided to do something. He wore a mask and approached Richard, handing him ₹2,000.

Richard looked up, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Karl nodded and turned to leave. But as he walked away, he saw a group of bullies approaching Richard. They started looting his money and torturing him, and Karl felt a pang of sadness and regret.

He wanted to help, but he couldn't. He was too afraid of being recognized, and he didn't want to put himself in danger.

So Karl just kept walking, feeling helpless and guilty. He knew that he had to do something to help Richard, but he didn't know what.

As he walked away, Karl couldn't shake off the feeling that he had failed Richard once again. He had tried to help, but it seemed that his efforts had been in vain.

And as he disappeared into the crowd, Karl couldn't help but wonder what the future held for Richard. Would he ever be able to escape the darkness that had consumed his life? Or would he remain forever trapped in a cycle of poverty, violence, and despair?
