Chapter 9 - chapter 9:A heart that still remembers

Episode 1 – A Forgotten Love

Chun Yu woke up to the sound of birds chirping softly outside her window.

Her eyes fluttered open, meeting the familiar ceiling of her bedroom.

She was home.

But something was wrong.

She felt the wetness on her face before she even realized she had been crying. A dull ache pressed against her chest, an emptiness she couldn't explain.

She sat up slowly, wiping the tears away with the back of her hand.

"Why… am I crying?"

A strange sadness clung to her, yet she didn't understand why.

Her room looked the same. Her desk was still stacked with textbooks, her school uniform hung neatly by the door. The morning light streamed through the curtains, warm and ordinary.

But inside—inside, she felt like a piece of her had been torn away.

She swung her legs off the bed and stood up, feeling slightly unsteady. The moment her feet touched the floor, a wave of dizziness washed over her.

For a second, she thought she heard a voice—

A name whispered on the wind.

"Chun Yu."

Her breath hitched. She spun around.

No one was there.

The room was quiet. Too quiet.

Her heart pounded as she clutched at her chest, trying to steady her breathing.

"What is this feeling…?"

She shook her head, trying to push the unease away.

Maybe she had been dreaming. Maybe it was just the stress of the upcoming exams.

But then—why did her heart feel like it had lost something irreplaceable?

Episode 2 – A World Without Him

The days passed, and life returned to normal.

Chun Yu went to school, attended classes, and prepared for her scholarship exams. Everything was as it should be.

Except—it wasn't.

She often found herself staring out of windows, feeling like she was waiting for something.

Something… or someone.

But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't remember what.

At night, she had strange dreams.

She saw raindrops falling in slow motion, hands reaching for hers, eyes filled with sorrow. A voice calling her name.

But every time she tried to grasp onto the memory, it slipped away like mist.

It left her frustrated, lost.

And then, one day, something changed.

Episode 3 – The Song That Awakened a Memory

It happened in the quiet of a bookstore.

Chun Yu had stopped by after school, searching for a reference book for her exams.

As she walked past the shelves, soft piano music played in the background.

She wasn't paying attention—until a certain melody drifted through the air.

She froze.

Her fingers tightened around the book in her hands.

This song—she knew this song.

But how?

Her head spun. Images flickered in her mind. A courtyard bathed in golden light. A man standing beneath a maple tree. A pair of eyes filled with longing.

Her heart ached.

She staggered back, gripping a nearby shelf to steady herself.

People around her continued browsing, unaware of the storm raging inside her.

She pressed a hand to her chest, gasping for breath.

"Who…?"

And then, as if the universe had been waiting for this moment—

A familiar voice spoke behind her.

"Are you alright?"

Chun Yu turned around—

And met his gaze.

Episode 4 – A Love That Defied Time

A young man stood before her, looking at her with quiet concern.

He was tall, dressed in a dark coat, his features striking yet strangely familiar.

Chun Yu's breath caught.

For a moment, she felt as if time had stopped.

The bookstore, the noise, the people around them—it all faded away.

Only he remained.

Her heart pounded so loudly she was sure he could hear it.

She didn't understand.

She had never seen him before.

And yet—

Why did he feel like home?

The young man studied her face, as if searching for something.

And then, ever so softly, he spoke—

"Chun Yu... do you remember me?"

Her world tilted.

Her vision blurred.

And suddenly, tears filled her eyes again—but this time, she knew why.
