"Get in," the man invited Andrea, who was inside a red Honda car.
"I won't get in there no matter how much you insist, even if you have 4 wheels," Andrea replied.
"Don't you really want to?" asked the man inside the car.
"I really don't like you, you think you're so great just because you have 4 wheels, you think I'll fall for you!" Andrea retorted.
Andrea kept peeking into the distance, waiting for her ride on a single motorbike. The man opened the window on the side of the door, but Andrea didn't look at him. Next, he opened the car door for Andrea to get in.
"Tsee! I'm not easy to get, you know!" Andrea continued to snap.
The man was forced to get out of the car and leaned against the roof of the door. "Hey! Isn't he coming anymore?" "Why, what ahhh." Andrea stopped in her tracks and her scolding. She was stunned by what she saw. Still can't believe it.
"You have a car? You know how to drive? Do you have a license?" Andrea asked in succession.
"Is this really yours? Isn't it for hire? Is this reality? Am I just dreaming?" Andrea slapped her cheek to wake herself up.
"Omg!!! Andrea shouted.
"This isn't a dream!" The man only nodded in response.
"You, Cyrus, you never introduce yourself. I really thought you weren't coming anymore and that someone else would court me," Andrea said sweetly. Cyrus just smiled.
"You're not easy to get, huh," the young man remarked.
Andrea pinched him, "You're so stubborn," she said.
"Ouch! Don't be like that, I'm driving! " said Cyrus.
Cyrus asked his mom for money to buy a car because he once got caught in the rain, and Andrea was with him then. Because of that, Andrea couldn't go to school for three days because she caught a cold. When they arrived at their house, Cyrus opened the car door for her and gave her the flower. But there was another flower that Cyrus was carrying, which Andrea had been wondering about. She thought that Cyrus might be courting someone else, so he was almost silent because all sorts of thoughts were running through her mind.
"Aren't you going to let me in?" asked Cyrus. "You always leave right away after dropping me off, even when I invite you in, even that time when it was raining and we were soaked."
"Don't you ever let me in?" asked Cyrus.
"Ah, you always leave right after you drop me off even when I invite you in, even that one time it was raining and we were soaking wet." "You still refused to come inside first," Andrea explained.
"Alright, come in," Andrea invited.
Upon entering, "Mom! I'm home!" I'm here"
Her mother welcomed her
"Good thing it didn't rain, who was it that dropped you off and just left you there?" " she asked. Cyrus immediately greeted Mylene Buenape, Andrea's mother.
"Good evening, godmother, flowers for you," he said, handing the bouquet to her.
"Oh my, I'm even prettier than the evening," Mylene jokingly replied.
"Of course, she got it from me," Andrea added, placing her hand on her chin and pouting.
"Thank you for the flowers, it's been a while since I received something like this, I missed it," Mylene said.
She looked at the flowers Andrea was holding, then turned to her godchild.
"So, who are you courting? Me or my daughter? " jokingly said Andrea's mother.
"Of course," Cyrus swallowed hard.
"Of course what?"
"Of course, Andrea," Cyrus replied.
"I knew it, this kid, I really knew you had plans for my daughter," Mylene joked again. Then she left to look for something in the cabinet in their living room.
After a while, she called the maid.
"Inday! Give Cyrus something to drink," Mylene ordered. Andrea then went upstairs to her room to change. The maid approached Cyrus.
"Sir, what would you like? Milk, coffee, or juice?" Milk or coffee or juice? "Do you want milk, coffee, or juice?" asked the maid repeatedly.
"Just water is fine," replied Cyrus.
When the maid returned, she brought a glass of soft drink. Cyrus took it when the maid handed it to him.
"I gave you choices, but the answer was none of the above."
"That's a bonus," commented Cyrus.
"Yeah, it is a bonus, sir. Here's the bottle, buy 3 get 1 bonus, I just transferred it to a glass," explained the maid.
A moment later, Mylene returned with a photo album. She showed a picture of a baby winking.
"That's you when you were one year old," said Mylene. "Do you know who you're winking at there?" asked Mylene.
"Do you know who you were winking at?" Mylene asked.
"Ah, no ma'am," Cyrus replied. She showed him the next picture. It was a full shot. Cyrus was being held by his father, and his godfather Maxwel was holding a baby.
"That's your godfather holding you, that's Andrea." "Look, you weren't satisfied with just winking, you really wanted to reach out and hold my child there," Mylene narrated.
"Child, come here! Look at this, you're so easy," said Mylene.
Andrea hurriedly came down and approached the two. She was wearing short shorts and a tank top, so her curves and well-shaped body were on display. Cyrus looked at her and wanted to shout; "wow perfect" when he saw Andrea in that outfit, but he was shy in front of his godmother.
"Child, look at Cyrus, even when he was young, he was already so mischievous," Mylene said while pointing her index finger at a close-up picture of Cyrus and then to the opposite page of the photo album, where they were in a full shot being carried by their fathers.
"That's true," Andrea said and pinched Cyrus's cheek.
"Ouch!" Cyrus shouted.
On another page, Mylene showed them Andrea as the flower girl, and on the next page, Cyrus as the ring bearer.
"And here you first held the hand of the baby you winked at and wanted to hold back then," Mylene said while turning to the next page of the photo album.
They saw two children holding hands and both smiling.
"That's at Emelyn and Ricky's wedding," Mylene explained.
"You were the ones who suggested taking a photo of just the two of you. When they saw it, Papa said it looked like there was going to be another couple next." added Cyrus's godmother.
"You all look so cute there," Mylene said.
"Even cuter now, Mom," Mylene insisted.
"Oh, of course," said Mylene.
"Oh, I know," Andrea interrupted.
"So? What?" asked Andrea's mother.
"Can I have a boyfriend now?" Andrea asked.
"Well, of course, as long as Cyrus will be your boyfriend, why not," Mylene replied, and Andrea hugged her.
Cyrus swallowed hard at what he heard. He felt a sense of hope. He knows that he will be able to propose to Andrea anytime from now.
"As long as it's just Cyrus, unlike the others, like the one who dropped you off recently and let you get soaked in the rain," Mylene said.
"Ah eh, it was me, I'm sorry, godmother, it won't happen again," Cyrus admitted.
"So you're the shameless jerk!" Mylene said angrily, pinching Cyrus's armpit.
"Ouch!" Cyrus shouted again.
Suddenly, the hope Cyrus felt was overshadowed by dark and thick clouds today.
"I'm taking back what I said earlier, my child, I don't want you to have a boyfriend again," Mylene insisted.
"Ma, come on!" Andrea exclaimed in her objection.
"Okay, you can leave now!" Mylene said angrily.
"I'm really sorry, that won't happen again. It suddenly rained heavily, but we're very close to your house, just one block away," Cyrus explained.
"Okay, okay, go home now," Mylene insisted.
"I'm really sorry," Cyrus pleaded.
"Well, you don't want to go home, do you want to sleep here?" Mylene shouted.
"Ah, okay, in the room of..." Cyrus's sentence was cut off when Mylene started talking again.
"Hey! Which room, the maid's room is fine, you naughty one," Mylene said again, shouting.
"Ah, I like that. I'm next to the handsome guy," the maid whispered, which Mylene overheard.
"Heee! Another itchy caterpillar! My God!" Mylene shouted.
"Ma, your heart," Andrea scolded her mom to calm down. She knew that once she got going, it would just keep escalating.
"Come on, Cyrus, there will be other days," Andrea said to Cyrus.
"Alright, godmother, I'm going home now, thank you, good night," said Cyrus.
Andrea followed him out the door and gave him a thumbs up as he was leaving through the gate. He also returned the thumbs up.
"Good night," she said.
"Good night too," Andrea replied.
"Thank you for bringing my child home," Mylene added, giving a thumbs up as well. Cyrus was confused by her; he couldn't tell if she was just pretending to be okay with her godmother for her child or if she was really angry.
When Cyrus was already in the apartment, Alfred called him.
"Dude, how's your courtship with your godmother going?" Alfred asked. He was the one who advised Cyrus to court the mother if the child is stubborn.
"Dude, it was fine at first but got angry in the end, but in the end, I don't know if it was okay or not." essay by Cyrus.
"You're being so vague, dude," Alfred said.
"Oh, as long as it's next week, I'll go all out. Let's go with plan B, convince our classmates to help me," Cyrus pleaded with his close friend. They are both studying at the same university now that Cyrus has moved to Manila.
"Yeah bro, I'll take care of that, you can count on me," Alfred replied.
"Alright bro, I'm going to sleep now and I'm already yawning, good night," said Cyrus.
"Good night, bro, I love you," Alfred joked to him.
"Oh man, don't say I Love You to me, someone might get jealous," Cyrus jokingly replied.
"Well, Andrea won't hear us," said Alfred.
"Okay, bro, good night," was Cyrus's only reply because he was really sleepy.
"Now now, dude," Alfred replied.
Sunday has arrived, the day Cyrus has been eagerly waiting for. This is the day for the truth to come out. It was still early when Cyrus immediately called Andrea.
"Hello loves, let's meet at the mall," Cyrus invited Andrea.
"You're calling me loves," Andrea said.
"It's true that I love you," replied Cyrus.
"Let's meet, just come here later around 4 o'clock. Sorry, I can't pick you up because I have something to do." Cyrus insisted again.
"Which mall?" Andrea asked.
"I'll just ask my mom to drop me off," the young woman added.
"At the usual meeting place," said Cyrus. "Does that mean your godmother will accompany you?" asked Cyrus.
His plan would surely be thwarted if Mylene was with them; he was afraid she might act like a tiger again.
"Probably not," Andrea replied.
"Okay, date set, huh? I expect you to arrive on time, don't be late." said Cyrus.
"Of course, when have I ever been late?" replied Andrea.
"Ok bye I love you," said Cyrus.
"Bye," was all Andrea said.
Andrea is carefully considering whether to confess to Cyrus or not. She expects her father to understand her, but she doesn't know about her mother because her mood often changes.
