Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Being watched

Ava shook her head, trying to brush off Lily's concerns. "It's nothing, Lily," she said. "I just got a little spooked, that's all. Let's just forget about it, okay?"

Lily looked at her uncertainly, but eventually nodded. "Okay, if you're sure," she said.

Ava smiled, trying to reassure her. "I'm positive," she said. "Let's just focus on our math test tomorrow, and forget about everything else."

Lily nodded, and the two of them spent the rest of the bus ride reviewing their notes and quizzing each other on math problems.

As they got off the bus, Ava felt a sense of relief wash over her. She was glad to be away from the figure, and she was determined to put him out of her mind.

But as she walked home, Ava couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. She kept looking over her shoulder, expecting to see the figure in the black hoodie lurking in the shadows.

When she got home, Ava's dad was waiting for her in the kitchen. "Hey, sweetie, how was your day?"he asked, giving Ava a hug.

Ava hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. She didn't want to worry her dad, but she didn't want to keep everything to herself either.

"It was fine, dad," she said finally. "Just a lot of homework and studying for my math test tomorrow."

Her dad nodded, smiling. "You'll do great, Ava," he said. "You're a smart girl, and you've been studying hard. Just get a good night's sleep, and you'll be ready to go tomorrow."

Ava nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards her mom. She was glad to have someone to talk to, even if she couldn't tell her everything.

As she went to bed that night, Ava felt a sense of unease. She knew that the figure was still out there, watching her, and she didn't know what he wanted.

But she was determined to deal with him on her own, without involving anyone else. She was a strong and capable person, and she could handle whatever came her way.

Or so she thought.

As she drifted off to sleep, Ava felt a presence in her room. She opened her eyes to see the figure in the black hoodie standing in the corner, watching her.

Ava's heart skipped a beat as she realized that the figure had followed her home. She was trapped, and she didn't know what to do.

Ava's heart was racing as she sat up in bed and stared at the figure in the black hoodie. She tried to speak, but her voice was shaking.

"W-what do you want?" she stammered.

The figure didn't move or respond. It just kept watching her with an unblinking gaze.

Ava felt a surge of anger and frustration. She was tired of being scared and tired of not knowing what was going on.

"I said, what do you want?" she repeated, her voice louder and more forceful.

The figure still didn't respond, but Ava could sense a slight movement. It was as if it was leaning forward, its eyes fixed intently on her.

Ava threw off her covers and got out of bed. She walked towards the figure, her heart pounding in her chest.

"I'm not afraid of you," she said, trying to sound braver than she felt. "I want to know what you want. Why are you following me?"

The figure still didn't respond, but Ava could sense a strange energy emanating from it. It was as if it was waiting for her to do something, but she didn't know what.

Suddenly, the figure vanished. Ava was left standing alone in her darkened room, feeling confused and disoriented.

She stumbled back to bed, her heart still racing. She didn't know what to do or what to think. She just knew that she had to get to the bottom of this mystery.

As she lay in bed, Ava couldn't shake the feeling that the figure was still watching her. She felt like she was being pulled into a dark a

nd sinister world, and she didn't know how to escape.

Ava's heart was racing as she turned to run away from the figure. She pumped her arms and legs as fast as she could, but her feet felt heavy and uncoordinated.

The figure started to chase after her, its long strides easily keeping pace with Ava's frantic running. Ava could hear its footsteps behind her, getting closer and closer.

She darted between trees and dodged low-hanging branches, trying to lose the figure in the park's winding paths. But no matter how fast she ran, she could sense the figure's presence behind her, always just out of reach.

Ava's breath came in ragged gasps as she ran, her lungs burning from the exertion. She could feel her legs starting to give out, her muscles trembling with fatigue.

Just when she thought she couldn't run anymore, Ava saw a glimmer of light up ahead. She burst through the park's entrance and out onto the sidewalk, gasping for air.

She looked around frantically, trying to get her bearings. She was on a busy street, with cars and pedestrians streaming by. Ava spotted a bus stop across the street and made a beeline for it, hoping to lose the figure in the crowd.

As she reached the bus stop, Ava turned to look back, but the figure was nowhere to be seen. She let out a shaky breath, feeling a mix of relief and fear.

But as she waited for the bus, Ava couldn't shake the feeling that the figure was still watching her, waiting for its next chance to strike.

The bus arrived, and Ava climbed aboard, grateful to be surrounded by the safety of strangers. She found a seat near the back and tried to calm down, but her mind was racing with questions.

Who was the figure in the black hoodie? What did it want from her? And how could she escape its relentless pursuit?

As the bus rumbled on, Ava gazed out the window, lost in thought. She was determined to uncover the truth behind the figure's sinister intentions, no matter what it took.
