Chapter 10 - 10: The Secret of the Royal Library

After completing several assignments, Merslin finally had some free time. The idea of visiting a library, much like the ones he used to frequent in Korea, crossed his mind.

"Elena, since we have some free time, how about visiting the library? Back in Korea, I used to spend a lot of time there," Merslin suggested.

Elena smiled. "That sounds like a great idea. Learning something new is always exciting."

The two made their way to the Royal Library, an imposing structure with grand architecture. As they stepped inside, towering bookshelves, intricate stained-glass windows, and high vaulted ceilings welcomed them. Sunlight streamed through the windows, casting a warm glow across the polished wooden floors.

"This place is amazing. It has a different charm compared to libraries back in Korea," Merslin said in admiration.

Elena nodded. "Yes, and there are plenty of ancient magic tomes here. We might even find something truly valuable."

Scholars, mages, and students filled the library, all immersed in their studies. Some flipped through old manuscripts, while others took meticulous notes under the dim glow of magical lanterns.

Elena ran her fingers across the spines of the books before pulling one out. "Merslin, look at this. It looks ancient."

Merslin leaned in, glancing at the worn leather cover. "Seems like an interesting read. Let's sit down and check it out."

They found a quiet corner and settled in, flipping through the pages in silence. Elena was quickly engrossed, while Merslin found himself stealing glances at her. The serene atmosphere, combined with the sight of Elena fully immersed in her book, made the moment feel almost like a date.

After a while, Elena stretched and set her book down. "Let's take a short break. I'll prepare some snacks with magic."

With a simple flick of her wrist, a fresh loaf of bread and cool beverages appeared on the table. "Here, try this," she said, handing Merslin a piece.

"Wow, your magic always amazes me," Merslin said, taking a bite.

Just as they were enjoying their break, Aria entered the library and spotted them. With a teasing smile, she approached.

"I didn't expect to run into you two here," she said.

Elena looked up, surprised. "Aria! What brings you here?"

"I was just planning to do some studying. But you two look so cozy together—it almost feels like I'm interrupting a date," Aria teased, playfully tugging on Elena's robe.

Elena chuckled. "Why don't you join us?"

With Aria now part of their group, they continued browsing the library together. As Merslin wandered through the shelves, an old, worn-out book caught his eye. The title was faded beyond recognition.

"This book looks unusual," Merslin murmured, carefully picking it up.

Elena and Aria peered over his shoulder. "What does it say?" Aria asked curiously.

Merslin flipped through the pages, his eyes widening in surprise. "It's written in Korean."

For everyone else, the text was unreadable. But for Merslin, it was a language he knew all too well.

"This book contains prophecies—specifically about a Savior or a Seer who will bring great change to this world," he said.

Elena leaned in, intrigued. "What exactly does it say?"

"It predicts that a savior will come from another world, destined to fight against the forces of darkness and reclaim lost knowledge and power. The prophecy also mentions that before arriving here, this person would have already endured great hardships," Merslin explained.

Elena's eyes widened. "That sounds… a lot like you."

Merslin hesitated, processing the implications. "It does, but I don't know if this prophecy is really about me, or if it's just a coincidence."

Despite the lingering doubts, one thing was clear: this book held secrets worth uncovering.

"Let's follow the clues from this book and see where they lead us," Merslin said with determination.

Elena nodded. "Yes. This is just the beginning of something bigger."

As they left the library, Merslin silently vowed, I will uncover the truth behind this prophecy.

Elena, watching his resolute expression, smiled softly. "Whatever happens, we'll face it together."

Chapter 14: A New Adventure Begins

With the book in hand, Merslin and Elena decided to report their findings to Elena's mentor, Alex, a wise elder of the Mage's Guild.

"Elena, Merslin, what brings you here?" Alex asked.

Elena held up the book. "Master, we found something important in the Royal Library."

Alex's expression grew serious. "What kind of book is it?"

Merslin explained. "It contains a prophecy about a savior from another world—someone meant to bring balance and reclaim lost power."

Alex stroked his beard, deep in thought. "That prophecy… If it's real, then what you've found is of great significance. You two must tread carefully."

After a moment, Alex sighed and turned to Elena. "Elena, you are like a daughter to me. If you plan to embark on this journey, I want you to take these."

He handed her a beautifully enchanted amulet and a staff adorned with runes.

"This amulet will protect you, and this staff will amplify your magic," Alex said.

Elena hesitated. "Master, I don't know if I deserve this…"

Alex smiled warmly. "You've already proven yourself. These belong with you."

Elena's eyes glistened with emotion as she accepted the gifts. "Thank you, Master. I won't let you down."

After bidding Alex farewell, Merslin and Elena returned to the Guild Headquarters to prepare for their journey.

"Elena, we should ask Lisa and Aria to come with us," Merslin suggested.

"Good idea. Having them with us will make this mission much safer," Elena agreed.

The two quickly found Lisa at the blacksmith's forge, inspecting her weapons.

"Lisa, we're about to go on an important mission. Would you like to join us?" Merslin asked.

Lisa smirked. "You even have to ask? Of course, I'm coming."

Next, they located Aria, who was preparing healing potions at the apothecary.

"Aria, we could use your skills on this journey," Elena said.

Aria smiled and nodded. "Of course! I wouldn't miss this for the world."

With their team assembled, the group made final preparations. Lisa stopped by the blacksmith to pick up her newly forged sword and gauntlets.

"This sword… It feels perfect," Lisa murmured, running her fingers along the blade.

Meanwhile, Aria visited the herbalist to stock up on healing supplies.

"Thank you so much! These herbs will be a huge help," she said gratefully.

As they gathered at the town gates, the group took a moment to reflect.

"This town… it's beautiful," Aria said, gazing at the landscape.

Lisa nodded. "Yeah. That's why we have to protect it."

Merslin took a deep breath. "Are we ready?"

Elena smiled. "With all of us together? We're more than ready."

With that, the four adventurers set off, the path ahead filled with mysteries waiting to be uncovered.

As they disappeared into the horizon, a shooting star streaked across the sky.

"Did you see that? I think it's a sign of good luck," Aria said excitedly.

Elena chuckled. "Then let's make sure we earn that luck."

Their greatest adventure was just beginning.
