Chapter 3 - Chapter Two

Lily's POV

While I trained with William, mom went to town to get some groceries since our supply was almost finished

"Not bad Lily, you've improved significantly. You know, in a few years, you could even be better than me" he complimented

"You're just saying that, you don't really mean it" I said

"Actually I do. You're a natural, and with some extra practice, you might become unbeatable" He said

"And what am I gonna need it for? Staying in the forest?" I asked sarcastically

"You'll get out someday" He replied

"Yeah. Someday! That's what mom keeps telling me. Can you believe she wouldn't even let me go when I'm Eighteen?!"

"Well, your mom wants the best for you, even though her methods may seem... Unconventional. She just wants to protect you" he said

"Protect me from what exactly? I'm not a baby!" I protested

"You're not an adult either. There are certain dangers out there that you really don't want to get into. Trust me" he said

"Now you're starting to sound like her" I said as I rolled my eyes

"Hey, look on the bright side! You get extra time to prepare for the stuff out there, and you're not completely ignorant thanks to your classes"

"Classes? You mean those boring stuff mom makes me learn? How to be a "Proper Lady" Politics and Geography. Blah Blah Blah. Besides, isn't there a saying that experience is the best teacher? " I argued

"Not always" he said

"Then prove it"

"Well, imagine you don't know how to even hold a sword and I just throw you into a battlefield and tell you " Experience is the best teacher " How do you think that'll turn out? " he asked

"It's not the same thing! In this case. I have been taught!" I said in defense

"But you've not learned enough, trust me, when you're really ready. You'll go out there" he said

"But I'm ready now!" I said

"And that's a sign that you're still too young. Now come on, let's get back to training" he said. Tossing me my training sword
