They reached the subway after walking for almost half an hour.
Sylvia was visibly tired but kept her complaints to herself. He was under so much pressure already, keeping her alive.
Cutting the line, he quickly asked for two tickets to the Grand Central.
"Hey! I was here you punk!" called out the man behind him annoyed.
He ignored him and continued purchasing the tickets. The man wasn't having it. He wasn't intimidated by his size. He called out loudly again, "I was here first!".
001 considered punching him but knew it would attract attention.
"I really don't have the time." he said.
"Nobody has the time." said the man angrily.
He placed a $5 bill on his chest.
"This is New York?" said the man.
He sighed and handed him another one, quickly collected his tickets and bolted with Sylvia.
The two sat down in the last coach, it was relatively empty which was a relief. Less number of people for him to monitor.
The train stopped at a station and some men entered. All smoking and cursing loudly.
"Aye check her." said one of them noticing Sylvia.
"Damn, what that fine shi doin 'ere?" said another. They started moving towards her, she scooted closer to 001.
The train jerked and one of them who was already high, lost his balance and was about to fall on top her, only to be smacked away by 001 and fall on the floor.
The guys with him were stunned.
He staggered and got up, looking angrily at 001, he suddenly reached for what was probably a weapon tucked underneath his shirt.
"Nuh uh. U in the wrong man." said another guy as he grabbed his hand immediately. He hadn't jeered at Sylvia at all and looked the most sensible and civil of the lot.
"U good homie, no trouble from us." he assured 001 as he dragged his friends away from them, muttering a quick apology to Sylvia.
Sylvia sighed in relief. She just wanted to get back home. She didn't want any more altercations.
The train stopped again. Passengers got on and off. This time amongst the crowd were a group of around six Koreans. They noticed 001 and Sylvia in the last coach, and started moving towards them, shoving the other passengers away. 001 got up. He had a rough idea that there more of them in the first coach. The group had probably split into two to search the train thoroughly. This was bad. These people were smart.
Cracking his neck he looked at them, they stood in a small semicircle in front of him.
They didn't seem to be carrying firearms, otherwise they would have already began shooting.
In a flash one of them aimed a punch to his face, he leaned back, barely dodging it before immediately taking a step back to avoid the follow up kick.
These guys were trained, one wrong move and he would be overwhelmed and killed.
He breathed out and took a Kudo stance. The assailants rushed at him he blocked two of them but got hit by the third and fourth all while the fifth and sixth closed in the distance, boxing him into a corner and reducing his control, they were all coordinating extremely well, he needed to break through and get some space.
Taking the opportunity by grabbing the kick one of them aimed at him, he immediately spun around and and fell on his back, taking the guy with him and breaking his leg with a loud sickening crunch.
He then used his legs while on the ground to sweep another one to the ground, the train jerked again, the assailants lost their balance and staggered backwards. He seized the chance to get up and punched the guy in the face who had fell down earlier, crushing his nose. He grappled another one close to him knee kicked is liver with immense force, knocking him down.
The remaining four took their stances again, it was clear that they were waiting for their backup which would arrive any minute from the front coach. They just needed to kill the two before the train stopped at a station again.
001 charged at one of them, throwing a well-aimed punch, but he was grabbed by the other two and the remaining one hit him squarely in the jaw.
The punch was perfect. 001's ears were ringing. This was bad. Soon their backup will arrive and Sylvia willl be killed. He needed to let himself go now. He couldn't afford to play nice anymore.
He grinned. The assailants looked surprised. In a flash he pulled his hands which were grabbed by two of them and their heads collided, he immediately freed himself, one of them charged at him, ramming his head on his abdomen, but he couldn't push 001 away. He stood as firm as a solid wall. How was this possible? The guy was pretty sure that the punch he had landed must have given him a concussion. 001 striked his head with immense force with his elbow, the force knocked him out cold.
"Let's play." said 001 grinning as he looked at the remaining three who were a little terrified of him now. He immediately closed in his distance, dodging their punches and attacking with much stronger ones of his own, he was like an extremely skilled in-fighter. His hits were solid and precise, giving them no chance to retaliate. Blood splattered from their faces as his fists made contact. He kept hitting until Sylvia screamed at him to stop.
"You think they would stop when they will torture and kill you?" he asked breathing heavily.
"The train is almost making a stop. We need to get out of here. More of them are probably coming any second." she said not listening to his reasoning. He was right but the violence just made her sick. The people in their coach had already long ran away to the other coaches. Police would probably be there waiting for them. They need to shake them off quickly. Besides, him killing these attackers in broad daylight ain't improving their situation in any way either.
The train halted to a stop just as they caught the glimpse of the other attackers who had shoved their way through the entire train. They quickly exited where just as she had thought, policemen were looking for them. They noticed them.
In the imminent scuffle, 001 turned and hit another of the assailants, the police rushed in. Meanwhile, Sylvia rushed to an exit, making a call to Matthew to come and pick her up.
