Chapter 1 - Masked Sorcerers

Introduction: Everything begins in 250 BC. The Gomols, originating from the Silvertons, migrate to the Legion continent due to climatic effects. Legion has a harsh climate with its hot weather and storms. After living in Legion for 210 years, the Gomols have adapted to a nomadic lifestyle. After exploring all the surrounding islands of Legion and settling briefly, they decide to migrate to the Zaz'Zak Islands.Profinen: Due to the harsh weather conditions of Silverton, the Prefinen lineage sought to expand eastward in 230 BC. The first island they encountered was the Fallen Islands, where they decided to settle. The Fallen Islands were formed when parts of the land, influenced by certain magical sorcerers, sank beneath the sea, creating a valley-like structure. However, no water ever enters the islands, as the sorcerers erected a magical barrier to protect them.Unaffected by harsh conditions, the Fallen Islands are like a paradise. They possess a magical climate and vegetation, with nearly 70 species of flowers and trees that regrow after being cut. Unlike the turbulent life in Silverton, the Prefinens led an extremely peaceful existence here. During this period, they placed great importance on science and magic. By 20 BC, due to changes within their lineage, they became known as the Profinen. The Profinen devised a plan to expand beyond the Fallen Islands. This plan was called the Light Plan. The Founding of Nyxia:In the 20s BC, the Profinen developed the "Light Plan", which worked as follows: If light could pass beyond the barrier, then when mixed with magic, the effect of reflection could carry the light along with the elements inside the barrier. This plan proved to be successful. Through the Light Plan, the Profinen were able to transfer the climate and vegetation of the Fallen Islands to the arid lands of Nyxia. This achievement was so significant that the Profinen declared it the beginning of a new era, marking the year "0."Zaz'Zak and Profinen:In 40 BC, the Gomols settled in the Zaz'Zak Islands, where they had to fight against numerous creatures. The Zaz'Zak Islands were cursed lands, formed from the remnants of fragmented islands surrounded by swamps. Although the Gomols were not naturally warrior-like, they learned to fight and defended themselves against the creatures.By 15 AD, the Profinen attempted to apply the Light Plan to the Zaz'Zak Islands as well, but they failed. A group of Profinen scientists gathered to investigate the issue. Their research led to a startling conclusion: the creatures were corrupting the reflected light with a curse. In response, the Profinen tried to mix light with diamonds, hoping to counteract the curse. However, this turned out to be one of their greatest mistakes. The Creation of the Shadow Race:When the Profinen directed light-infused diamonds toward the creatures, it triggered a massive explosion. This was caused by the reaction between diamond, light, and cursed energy.A thick mist engulfed five entire islands. The people within began to lose their sense of self and their ancestral lineage. Many perished within the cursed fog, while some Gomols and Profinen underwent a horrifying transformation—turning into cursed half-shadows.In panic, these half-shadow beings attempted to escape by diving into the sea, but most of them froze to death. The Formation of Shadowia:Unlike many of the fallen half-shadows, some rational individuals remained calm. They formed a group and built a raft. Without knowing their direction, they began to paddle aimlessly. During this chaos, the Profinen scientists who caused the disaster were killed, and the method of the Light Plan was burned and erased. While fleeing on their raft, the half-shadows eventually reached an island—Kamega, a continent that would become a miraculous chapter in human history. Kamega was a land of vast plains and meadows, with cascading waterfalls and a variety of crops. It was a perfect haven for the half-shadow people. However, this joy was short-lived. The cursed energy emanating from the half-shadow people began to affect the Kamega continent. Contrary to expectations, strange things began to happen. Instead of the crops withering, they transformed into black shadows and continued to bear seeds. Flowers, too, turned into a mixture of blue and black shades, yet they remained alive.Kamega had officially embraced the shadow. While the half-shadow people awaited the mist to cover the land, they had unknowingly built an entirely new ecosystem. Accepting their shadowed forms, they fully transformed into shadows and named their new homeland Shadowia, or "The Land of Shadows."The Formation of New Techniques:By 150 AD, the shadow people discovered the "Geniga" technique as a means of self-defense. This technique allowed them to use elemental magic on their tools, such as swords, axes, and other weapons. Through this technique, they could imbue their weapons with magic, enabling them to perform ranged attacks and increase their strike power.Using the Geniga technique, the shadow people began hunting many creatures and significantly improved their ability to defend themselves.Nyxia and Shadowia:In 250 AD, some Nyxian explorers discovered the continent of Shadowia. Over the past 270 years, Nyxia had accumulated vast riches, precious minerals, royal families, and a formidable army. Upon this discovery, Nyxia's Supreme Commander Hau quickly mobilized his forces and sent them to the borders of Shadowia.Hau: "Is it a continent, or shadow people? Does this truly prove the existence of the ancient legend?"Soldier: "Yes, Commander Hau, the explorers couldn't believe what they saw on that continent. The waters there flow black!"Hau: "Black, you say. Does that mean it's magical?"Soldier: "Based on our assumptions, yes, Commander."Hau: "I see. Well, it seems we've found a new source of shelter and minerals for our army. Send Section 24 there immediately."The 24th Division sent to Shadowia was completely annihilated by the shadow people's techniques. Thus, the first interaction between Shadowia and Nyxia began.

(4 days later)

Yaorishi: "Commander, our entire army has been wiped out! What do we do now?!"Hau: "What?! How could one of our most experienced divisions be completely destroyed?!"Yaorishi: "Commander, according to the information I received, these people... the shadow people, they're not like us."Hau: "Then it's time to deploy the Golden Division."(Golden Division: A unit of 400 soldiers enhanced with special armor and magical spells.)1st Shadowia War:The Golden Division that set foot in Shadowia tore through the shadow people as if they were monsters, and completely conquered Shadowia. It is estimated that, in this war, an average of 10 Nyxians lost their lives for every 2,500 Shadowians.Meanwhile, one of the shadow clans managed to absorb the Golden Division's spells, transferring the magic onto themselves. This newly enchanted race came to be known as the Grand Shadow.Hamera: "We've finally succeeded! We've managed to combine the shadow element with the golden element!"Hashima: "This is it! As the hope of Shadowia, we can stand against those mysterious tyrants as a whole clan!"Hamera: "Then I call upon the entire clan! Everyone, gather in the meeting chamber!"The newly formed Grand Shadow race, using these spells and the Geniga technique, overwhelmed the Nyxian soldiers and drove them into the sea. Some of the shadow warriors, who followed the fleeing soldiers, eventually came across a piece of land. They had arrived on the very shores of Nyxia. At this point, the shadows encountered the Nyxian army once more, but they began to retreat. In their frantic escape, the fleeing shadows ended up falling into an endless-looking cave.Shadowia's Recognition by Other Civilizations:In the 270th year of the Modern Era, the war between the Shadows and the Nyxians had echoed around the world. The ProfinenSilverton, and Legion civilizations had now entered into diplomatic relations with Shadowia. Shadowia had suddenly become a global power.Amidst these newfound relationships, Shadowia began to trade its agricultural products with the other civilizations.Demon-Like Shadows:In the year 255 of the Modern Era, the Shadows who had fallen into the cave while escaping the Nyxians were attacked by demons deep beneath the earth, 15 layers below the surface. These demons slaughtered the Shadows, devouring them.After 40 days of consuming the Shadows, the demons underwent a transformation called the Shadow Rebirth. This transformation, driven by the cursed energy of the Shadows, turned the demons into demon-like Shadows with human consciousness. These new beings were so terrifying that witnesses claimed some of them had horns protruding from their heads, with glowing blue eyes, resembling soulless, emotionless humans. The rise of these demon-like Shadows led to the Second Shadowia War, as they brought chaos and destruction upon both their former allies and enemies. The Second Shadowia War:In 320 of the Modern Era, the Demon-like Shadows, who had managed to escape the depths of the cave, began launching brutal attacks on the Nyxia towns. They looted everything in sight, killing and tormenting innocent civilians. Upon witnessing these atrocities, Okame, the New Head Commander of Nyxia, swiftly dispatched his entire army to protect the invaded towns. However, despite their best efforts, they could not catch the demon-like Shadows, whose incredible speed outmatched their forces.Faced with this threat, Nyxia formally declared war on Shadowia and sent a new elite unit, the Diamond Regiment, to the shores of Shadowia. The Diamond Regiment was so fast and efficient that even the Grand Shadows and their forces struggled to keep up. Amidst the growing chaos, a particular Grand Shadow clan began researching the demon-like Shadows, hoping to uncover the secret behind their transformation and figure out how to stop them. This set the stage for a conflict far greater than what either Nyxia or Shadowia had experienced before, where the consequences of the Demon-like Shadows' emergence would threaten to engulf all.The Time Slowing Project:The Grand Shadows discovered a powerful technique using IronCopper, and Magic that allowed them to temporarily slow down time for a specific duration of 5 seconds. However, this technique came with significant limitations. They could only use it once per day. Overuse of the ability could cause extreme damage to the user's internal organs, potentially causing them to explode due to the overwhelming energy accumulated during multiple uses.Recognizing the necessity of defeating the Demon-like Shadows and ending the Second Shadowia War, the Grand Shadows formed a temporary alliance with Nyxia. Together, they made their way to the war-torn Nyxia village, where the Demon-like Shadows had caused devastation. Upon their arrival, they used their time-slowing technique to gain the upper hand and defeated the four Demon-like Shadows that had been wreaking havoc in the area. The Demon-like Shadows were completely annihilated, and peace was temporarily restored between Shadowia and Nyxia. However, this victory came at a cost. The grand technique used to defeat the Demon-like Shadows left Grand Shadows weakened, as they had pushed their time-slowing abilities to their limit. The question of what would come next and how long the fragile peace would last hung heavily over the lands.Muzameki: "Everyone, attack from the left flank!"(Shouts from hundreds of people and the sound of running feet fill the air.)

The scene turned into a bloodbath, with Geniga techniques and Diamond Magic glowing like stars, lighting up the night. It was clear that a massive battle was about to unfold.

Pahora: "Summon the time-slowing sorcerers immediately! They're getting too close!"(The sorcerers arrive.)Sorcerers: "Time, slow down in my name!"(With a soft tick-tock sound, the time begins to slow, and the entire battlefield's pace comes to a halt. The once-rapid movements of soldiers, arrows flying, and magic bursts begin to stretch, moving at a glacial pace.)In the slow-motion battlefield, the Grand Shadows and Nyxia's Elites seemed to gain an advantage as they moved with greater precision. The Demon-like Shadows were still a threat, but with the time altered, the strategic battle now held a deadly rhythm. The Time-Slowing Sorcerers could control the flow of battle temporarily, giving the warriors on both sides a fleeting chance to strike. But the question remained: how long could the sorcerers maintain the spell? And what would happen once the spell expired? The tension hung in the air, as every move made now could decide the fate of the battlefield. The artillery outside the time slow range quickly begins to fire cannonballs at the demon-like shadows.

Artillerymen: Fire! Fire! Fire!

After the four demon-like shadows were destroyed, one of them was fully captured and taken to ShadowiaExperiments on the Demonic Shadows: The demonic shadow brought to Shadowia undergoes various experiments. As a result of the experiments, it was discovered that the reason why the demonic shadows remained conscious yet turned into monsters was because the demons had entered human bodies and taken control of them.Following this, a new device was developed: The Magic Extractor. This device allows the transfer of the magic from any unconscious or unresisting individual into a box, functioning as a means to extract and store the magic. Using this device, the demonic power of the shadow is removed and stored in a box, which is then sealed with special enchantments.
