Chapter 4 - Subconscious Fusion Archery

Yan Qingwen glanced at Brother Liu. Competing in archery with children? Childish!

She followed her eldest sister back to the main building but did not continue following her.

At the back of the manor, there was a racecourse, a miniature golf course, and a huge swimming pool. Liu Di was amazed! There was even an independent archery range—an exquisite log cabin with a double-arrow site covering at least three acres.

Various photos hung on the walls of the cabin. One prominently featured Ouyang Fengyu standing on the podium, holding an archery trophy. Brother Liu counted—six championships and four runner-up titles!

Ouyang Fengyu adjusted his glasses. His demeanor was still elegant, but the pride in his heart was evident. "These are things of the past, don't laugh!"

"Tsk, tsk, it's really a show," Brother Liu muttered, curling his lips.

"By the way, Xiao Liu, can you shoot arrows?" Ouyang Fengyu asked, squinting and touching his chin.

"Ding... subconscious fusion of archery complete!" Just as Brother Liu was hesitating, the devil boy's prompt came.

"I just scanned competition videos of past Olympic archery champions and summarized all their archery skills!"

"It has been compiled into subconscious neuron information and mapped to your cerebral cortex!"

Liu Di was a little confused. "Subconscious?"

"Popular science: 70% of human consciousness is subconscious! It can also be called the subconscious mind! It allows actions to be performed 'without thinking'!"

"For example, when you looked at the photo just now, you didn't realize that you blinked six times!"

"Now that your subconscious has been equipped with archery skills, you can use them at will!"

"So, I can do archery now?"

"Yes! Super archery skills! More than enough to crush Ouyang Fengyu!"

Brother Liu smiled inexplicably, nodded, and said, "Just a little bit."

Then, he shrugged and looked at Ouyang Fengyu. "How about we compete?"

"What? Brother Liu, don't be ridiculous! Haven't you seen the photo of your brother-in-law? He's an archery champion with multiple gold medals!"

"You barely know how to shoot an arrow, and you want to compete with a champion? You don't seem qualified!"

Hearing this, the two beautiful twins burst into laughter.

To them, Brother Liu was pretending too much! He didn't know his limits!

"So what if he's a champion?" Liu Di crossed his arms and approached the display window, carefully examining the bows and arrows.

"You two, stop laughing!" Ouyang Fengyu kept a serious face, but the corners of his mouth twitched slightly, barely suppressing a smile. "Maybe Brother Liu is a master!"

"Since Brother Liu is interested, how can I refuse?" Ouyang Fengyu said solemnly. "It's okay to compete, but as a professional player, I have to give Xiao Liu a handicap. Here's the deal: I'll shoot at a 25-meter target while blindfolded. That way, it won't be unfair, right?"

Shooting an arrow blindfolded was essentially dismissing Brother Liu's challenge.

The two beauties' eyes lit up as they clapped their hands excitedly. Of course, they knew Ouyang Fengyu's ability. Hitting a 25-meter target while blindfolded was easy for him!

"But..."

"Since this is a competition, there should be stakes." Ouyang Fengyu narrowed his eyes like a fox. "Xinxin, in your live broadcast room, don't PK losers usually face punishments?"

Ouyang Fengyu glanced at the two young women.

"Oh, yes!" Yan Xinxin covered her mouth and snickered. "There are plenty, like squatting, eating mustard, standing on one's head while drinking Coke, and so on!"

"Drinking Coke while upside down... now that's interesting!" Ouyang Fengyu smirked. "How about this? Whoever loses eats while standing on their head!"

He could barely contain his excitement.

"How about it, Xiao Liu? Do you dare to take the bet?"

"Okay."

Liu Di shrugged lightly, a subtle smirk forming at the corner of his mouth.

Phew… The twin beauties couldn't hold it in any longer and burst into laughter.

Their brother-in-law was a genius! He had quietly set a trap for Brother Liu!

Just imagining Brother Liu eating upside down in front of everyone at the luncheon was enough to make their stomachs hurt from laughing!

"Then I'll go first."

Ouyang Fengyu picked up a sleek black professional bow, his expression turning serious.

As expected of a professional player, he first assessed the wind direction, then focused on memorizing the target's position.

Yan Kaikai took out a silk scarf and gently tied it around her brother-in-law's eyes.

"Drink!" Ouyang Fengyu shouted, channeling his strength into his arms as he drew the bow to its full capacity.

The two young women watched in awe, their eyes sparkling with admiration.

Ouyang Fengyu took two deep breaths. "Archery requires a steady hand and a calm mind. I have trained for ten years and have nearly achieved complete unity between mind and action. Although I am blindfolded, the red bullseye is already fixed in my memory!"

"Brother Xiao Liu, let me show you what it means to be a champion!"

"Whoosh!"

Boom!

The two girls cheered excitedly!

Ouyang Fengyu smiled softly and slowly removed the silk scarf.

The arrow had landed dead center in the bullseye—ten perfect rings!

"As expected of our eldest brother-in-law! His archery skills are unmatched! Haha!"

The two girls laughed even harder. With that arrow, their prank on Brother Liu was practically over!

"So, I can only win if I hit a farther target?" Liu Di's lazy voice interrupted.

Ouyang Fengyu looked at him, his expression turning exasperated.

"Brother Liu, this is a 25-meter target. The next standard distance is 30 meters—that's Olympic-level archery!"

He turned around to glance at Brother Liu but suddenly froze.

"Hahaha!"

Ouyang Fengyu completely lost his refined image and burst into laughter.

"Brother Liu, what are you holding?"

Brother Liu held a massive ox-horn bow in his hands. It had a simple design and a rough finish, with a thick hemp rope for a bowstring.

Ouyang Fengyu had originally brought this bow back as a collector's item because of its distinctive, primitive appearance. It was made using traditional techniques and had virtually no accuracy.

More importantly, it was used by hunters in the mountains to hunt wild boars. Typically, two people had to work together to pull the bowstring!

According to its specs, the bow had a draw weight of at least 180 pounds.

In other words, it required arm strength of around 80 kilograms to fully draw it back!

Even Ouyang Fengyu, a former archery champion, could only admire it—he could never actually use it with ease!
