Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

ERA Calendar: 2nd Month of the Year 3115.

Southern Hemisphere.

Southern Helia.

Yosen High.

"Later, fiancé."

She had said from her desk, still drinking her coffee.

"—A…"

Ren opened his mouth as if to say something, however—

Forget it; it wasn't worth the effort. There were other things that mattered anyway.

He thought otherwise, slightly shaking his head.

With that said, Ren left for his classroom as the day quickly passed by.

4:15 AM.

School soon ended.

Their homeroom teacher stood at the front, adjusting some papers before addressing the class.

"That's enough for today. Ah, and don't forget—the Student Council forms will be handed out in a few days. If you're interested, be sure to give it a try."

Though she, the homeroom teacher, had said that with a more neutral tone, her gaze said otherwise.

Her gaze was pointed towards Leon and Susannah, who sat behind him.

It was no secret—when it came to the Student Council, there were really only three choices.

The top three second-years, without a doubt, were the best candidates.

The McFaren, the Crossville, and lastly, the Rosebell.

It was only natural that Rosebell was as influential.

Not only was she refined and elegant, she was also beautiful to boot.

Additionally, her family, the Rosebell family, operated as a fully sanctioned mafia.

If anything, they were the only legalised mafia family across the world.

Going by that knowledge, one can come to the realisation of how powerful her family is.

Above most, when it came down to manpower, they possessed the most manpower in that department.

Most especially, they aided law enforcement in cracking down on criminals, provided security for high-profile individuals, and had accomplished far more over the years.

Unlike Crossville, who people found her hard to approach due to her arrogance.

The Rosebell daughter, on the other hand, was a different case.

Well, stories floated around about those who pushed their luck with her.

Let's just say… it never ended well.

What would you expect?

Trying to push your luck with the daughter of one of the most dangerous families in the world?

"Heh, I already know who I'm voting for."

"True, there's only one choice, isn't there?"

"What about Arianna?"

"Ahh, that's true."

Students around the class muttered aloud, making Leon release a stiff smile in contrast.

Of course, if he did have a choice, he'd have loved to relinquish the position for Susannah and Arianna.

They should battle for the position instead.

But when you're in a family like the McFarens, yeah, some things are expected from you.

At the very least, that's what he's been taught.

'But it seriously doesn't… forget it.'

After thinking that…

His gaze shifted to the other side of the class—where one of his classmates sat, with a displeased expression, looking like the world had personally wronged him.

'If things go south, you might just have to come to hell with me.. I apologize in advance, Ren.'

Leon thought with an amused sigh.

If he really ended up as Student President, he wouldn't go down alone.

At the very least, he'd drag a certain Aristella along with him.

Of course, many students are going to express their displeasure; however, he wasn't the type to care about that.

He'd much rather be in Ren's company than stuck between a rock and a hard place.

And in this case, the rock was Susannah, and the hard place was Arianna.

But, oh well, that would be till then.

As for Ren on the other hand.

Project the Order was already a go.

Having drafted his plans out of sheer boredom, he had, at the very least, something well-structured.

Leaving the classroom and deciding to trail her.

He'd seamlessly blended with his surroundings.

By using his mobile as camouflage, he pretended to be busy while subtly keeping an eye on him.

However, unfortunately for him, by the time they'd get to the gate.

"Hey, Clarissa."

"Tch, you're already here."

The school nurse, rather, Clarissa Everett, had clicked her tongue.

She stopped just beyond the gates, in one part where cars could pass.

That was where her ride had been waiting.

From Ren's angle, he could make out a blonde-haired man, sitting inside—smug-faced, radiating an air of arrogance.

No, scratch that. He looked more like a playboy instead.

Extremely different from Leon's regal appearance.

But then, even for a playboy, his gaze on her was unsettling to say the least.

It more or less reminded him of something…

'That person is no good.'

He'd thought.

Now, he saw why Clarissa wanted to use him as bait for her parents to hand off her romantic life.

Not that he could understand.

There were many ways to handle this, no?

But as Ren was thinking that, Clarissa had entered his car and it soon pulled away.

Seeing as he had no choice, he flagged down the nearest taxi.

Luckily, one was close by.

Sliding into the backseat, he gave an order.

"Follow that yellow supercar in front; be very subtle about it."

"Sir—?"

"A hundred thousand RHN, keep your mouth shut and just obey."

Ren had said such words.

Although taken aback for a moment, the man soon nodded before putting his skills to use.

It wasn't every day a rich kid would enter his shabby car and would give him such a reward.

How was he able to come to such conclusions?

The moment he said so, the taxi driver had already received the money.

As said before, the technology in this world is advanced to the point that one can transfer data to the closest device beside them.

Obviously, this data included digital currencies too.

With that said, the man had begun driving.

Ren, on the other hand, kept an eye on his map, tracking their route.

Following the route they were going across…

'This route, is he going to… I see.'

He could imagine.

Second Float.

One of the largest economic districts, packed with high-end shopping complexes.

It spanned across several kilometres, true to its name.

Several economical stores—buildings—lined up on opposite sides.

And the further inside one went, the more high-class it became.

Naturally, this is safe for their Super Mall, which was at the centre of the economic district.

The Second Float had six districts. Three before reaching the Super Mall, and three more behind it—completely restricted.

Only the wealthiest of people, who own a black-gold card, could ever enter.

And for someone like Ren, who was the Aristella heir.

He had such a card in hand.

However, he'd never used it since his parents' passing.

But unlike what he thought.

"Second district, huh?"

There were many more classy restaurants in the third districts, and naturally, they were more expensive than the ones here.

How expensive?

Bet.

A cup or glass of drink may cost very well above 50K RHN.

And the ones beyond here, being the fourth district to the last, can cost more than ten times that.

5:55 AM.

"Thank you for your cooperation."

Ren had said that, opening the door of the car to head out, however—

"Please wait, sir."

The driver said, handing over a card to Ren.

"If you need me anytime, sir. Just call."

Ren paused, looking over at the man, then after a second or two, he nodded and then took the card.

"I'll consider it."

Seeing Ren taking the card from him, the man let out a smile.

He's officially done for the day. 100K RHN just like that?

For a one-hour-and-some-minutes drive?

He'd be damned if he didn't try to work for the kid.

With that in mind, the man drove off.

'Now then…'

Ren thought as he looked over the name of the Second-Class Restaurant.

With a nod, he walked over.

Whether this was a waste of time or not, it didn't matter.

If the Order was involved with her dying tonight, he'd know soon enough.

If they weren't, well… it wouldn't matter still.

At least he wouldn't lose his nurse's office hideout.
