In a world where only the strong survive, will he rise to the top or Fall To his demise. Well you can read to find out. \\ Hello guys author here. English is not my native tongue so i might not be able to properly articulate what i wish to write at times, but i will try my best to improve as the story goes on. You, the readers can also help me on this journey, if you can comment on what you think needs to be changed or redone and i welcome criticism so Don't be afraid to criticise. Well that's all for now, and if you could add this story to your reading list i shall be very gratefull and powerstones are also very much appreciated \\ //PS: Also the novel Won't be very fast paced but not too slow either and the system while important is not the main focus, the main focus will be the base building and minions, so if any of you like Clash of clans and Age of empires (My personal favourite games which also inspired to me write this) you will find this very fun, i tried to make the complicated stuff as simple as possible. With all that said no more ranting, and enjoy.//

Chapter 1 - In The Middle of Knowhere

The sharp howling of the wind cut through the silence like the blades of a helicopter in motion. It was deafening, disorienting—unnerving.

"Ugh… Ahh… Where… where is this?"

The voice wavered, hoarse and confused.

All around, nothing but dense greenery. Towering trees stretched endlessly in every direction, their leaves rustling ominously in the wind. It was an unfamiliar sight, alien in its entirety.

"What the hell… Is this some kind of joke? This shit ain't funny."

Instinctively, the figure reached into his pocket, fishing out a phone. He tapped the screen.

No Signal.

His stomach twisted. "How is that even possible? Worse yet… I don't even know where I am… or who I am."

A sudden, searing pain shot through his head. His hands clutched at his temples.

"Argh! Fuck… my head hurts like hell. Why can't I remember anything?!" He groaned, gritting his teeth. "Damn it… I need to calm down. Breathe in… and out… in… and out…"

First Person POV

The first thing I saw was trees. Lots of them. But they weren't like any trees I could remember—not that I even knew what I should be remembering.

To the side, a small pond shimmered with an unnatural green glow, its surface eerily still. Another anomaly.

And then came the real problem.

I don't even know who I am. Or how I got here. The only memory I had was the sound of roaring winds—like… like a chopper? Wait, what? How do I even know that?

Gritting my teeth, I slammed a fist into the dirt.

Nothing makes sense.

Okay… first things first—I needed to assess my surroundings.

Other than the obvious—forest, pond, blazing sun—there wasn't much else to go off of. With the heat getting unbearable, I leaned against a massive tree, its shade offering some much-needed relief.

I sat there for what felt like half an hour, forcing my mind to dig through the haze of lost memories.

Then… something clicked.

"Deus."

That was my name.

"...Deus, huh? Kinda expected something cooler, but I guess I'll take it."

I sighed, massaging my forehead as the dull migraine persisted.

And then—at the edge of my vision, I saw it.

A small green dot. Almost invisible. Floating.

Frowning, I turned my gaze upwards toward the sky. The moment I focused on it, the dot became clearer—a glowing green icon with an exclamation mark.

Curiosity flared. I reached out instinctively—only for my hand to grasp nothing.

"What the… am I hallucinating now?"

Annoyed, I swiped at it again. Still nothing.

"Great. First memory loss, now visual hallucinations. Might as well kill me already," I muttered.

But the third time?

Something happened.

"ARGHHHHHH!"

A sudden explosion of light and data streams filled my vision. Countless floating panels—like holographic computer screens—flashed before me, appearing and disappearing at rapid speeds.

It felt like my skull was splitting apart.

"FUCK! MAKE IT STOP!" I screamed, clutching my head as the sheer overload of information seared into my brain.

And then—just as suddenly as it began—it was over.

The chaos vanished, leaving behind a single golden panel hovering before my eyes.

Panting heavily, I squinted at the glowing text displayed on it.

I stared blankly at it.

"...Ultimate Midget— no wait, Minion System? The hell is this?"

After a moment of stunned silence, I let out a dry chuckle. "Whoever made this thing should've at least warned me that activating it would feel like getting hit by a truck."

Shaking my head, I focused on the menu.

System Interface Exploration

First, the Minion Construction Tab.

A new window appeared.

So… this was a system for creating minions?

Interesting.

I switched to the Minion Management Tab.

Minion Management Tab

Active Minions: 0

Made sense. I hadn't created any yet.

Lastly, I checked Inventory.

Inventory Tab

(Empty)

There were 16 empty slots, resembling the item grids from RPG games I used to play.

…Wait. RPGs?

I didn't remember my past, yet I somehow knew what those were?

I groaned, rubbing my temples. "Whatever. One problem at a time."

Three Hours Later…

After thoroughly exploring the system, I came to a decision.

If I wanted to survive, I needed minions.

I had five free Minion Tokens, so I had to be smart about using them.

I carefully weighed my options before settling on a strategy.

3 Warrior Minions. 1 Woodcutter. 1 Miner.

The warriors would protect me in case of danger. The utility minions would gather resources for my survival.

No more hesitation.

Taking a deep breath, I selected the "Construct Minion" option.

The moment I confirmed my choices, the air around me rippled.

Bright green sigils appeared on the ground, glowing with an ethereal light. The symbols pulsed, growing more intricate as energy surged through them.

Then—one by one—my minions emerged.

They weren't human.

Standing before me were sleek, humanoid robots. Their metallic bodies gleamed under the sunlight, their frames futuristic and well-built. Where a face should have been, there was only a glowing green smiley emoji.

The warriors stood at a solid six feet tall, their large frames exuding an intimidating presence. They wielded short swords and kite shields, their bodies designed for combat. Their armorless exteriors still felt heavy, as if their reinforced plating functioned as built-in protection.

The woodcutter and miner stood at the same height, both carrying the tools of their trade—a massive axe and a pickaxe—resting on their shoulders.

I stepped back, taking in the sight.

"...So these are my minions, huh?" I muttered. "Honestly, they look more like combat droids than minions."

If they had rifles and a sleek black-and-grey frame, they'd be perfect war machines.

For now, though, they were mine.

And survival just became a whole lot easier hopefully that is but i can't deny the security i feel now that i am no longer alone. This strange place definitely feels creepy now at least i can relax.

Now I am a bit curious on how these Minions work, I wonder do they just listen to my command or do they somehow work differently.

Let's try telling them something. Ponting at the only wood cutter minion in the group i gave it a command.

"You wood-cutter Minion cut that tree right there"

On my command almost immediately it moved slowly towards the nearest tree. It started swinging the masive axe then something unbelievable happened....

To be Continued....
