Chapter 1 - [ Prologue ]

drip* drip* drip*

Droplets from a leaky faucet echoed throughout a rough cemented room, and though packed with the aura of bloodlust, crowded with only the primal instinct of survival...

drip*

The room was filled with silence as one man stood against all.

drip*

And that man…

DRIP*

"Is Li Yen"

RAAAAAAHHH!!! shouted the men simultaneously with murderous intent as they charged towards the man in the middle.

And with a smirk…

cramples*

"HE TOOK THEM ALL DOWN WITH ONE ARM LIKE A FUCKING MANIAC!"

said a young man holding a crushed tin can on his right hand.

"What do you think of THAT as a debut story?"

"Uhh yeah… whatever you say dude"

Said a girl as she sipped her can of juice.

(Guy plops back down to the sofa)

"Hey, don't hate me for having better taste at action than you"

Said the man, shrugging as he shoots the can into the bin.

(Misses)

"Look, all I'm saying is…

(Picks up the can and places it inside the bin)

…Try getting a proper job first"

Said the girl as she waved him off and went into another room.

"Pff... You're one to talk"

He whispered, brushing her off

Sitting bummed out, the man notices a noise coming from the television in front of him.

"…by a currently uninidentified suspect, the man's body was found with a gunshot wound on the center of his forehead, and went straight throu- click*

Staring at the television as he turned it off, the man sighs, mildly annoyed.

Cut to scene:

[Venue: An Urban Marketplace bustling with Nightlife]

Walking through the noisy and busy streets, the man remains unfazed, seemingly focused with only one direction in mind.

And so he has arrived at a teahouse, with "Pigeon's" written atop a sign.

Ding!*

"Cooooming through…"

As the man enters through the door, a woman radiating a warm aura notices his arrival.

"Li! It's been so long since I've seen you! How have you been??"

Said the woman as she wipes a jar from the shelf.

"Drop the act old lady, I know who you are"

Said Li as he walks towards the counter.

"Oh, So you've finally grown balls huh?"

And with a sudden tone change, the woman then pulls out a pistol from the jar she was wiping, now pointed at Li's head.

Tchk!*

Was the sound the gun made as the woman readies to shoot pistol.

" "Old Lady?" You looking for a death sentence you little shit?"

"Not exactly, but I AM looking for a job…"

Said Li sternly staring into the woman's eye.

Seemingly in a staring contest, the two were in a lockdown, eyes glaring, measuring one another's intentions.

And with a swift lunge of the woman's arm-

"Oof" grunted Li.

"YAHAHAHA!!! So Mr. Unemployed finally came to his wits"

Said the woman, now embracing Li happily…

(Pulls the gun right up to Li's face once again)

"But call me "old lady" one more time and I'll really blast your face off…"

Said the woman without a single hint of banter, she was dead serious…

"Okay! I'm sorry! I was kidding, just relax.. and put the gun down Min Seo, please?"

Said Li surrendering with his hands up.

"Hmm… whatever, good enough"

Said Min Seo as she placed the gun back into the jar, and the jar back into the shelf.

(Dusts her hands off by clapping them together)

"I welcome you to Pigeon's Teahouse's secret underground society… PIGEON'S ODD JOBS!!!"

Said Min Seo while proudly puffing her chest, with her arms extended.

I mean, with how empty this place always is, I doubt any secret's gonna come out even if she shouts it like what she's doing now… Li thought

Min Seo then presses a section on the side of the board containing the tea shop's menu,

Tschuck*

Spinning it horizontally afterwards, revealing a wall full of posters containing hirings for odd jobs.

"So how about it? What'll Mr. Unemp-Li-oyed choose as his first job?"

"Ha-ha Minsy, reeaaal funny"

Replied Li while trying to search for a decent job to take.

"Missing Boar"…

"Make me a grappling hook"…

"Collect 2,000 Daisies"…

By the heavens, what the hell do all these coded jobs even mean...

"Looking for single moms near my area"…

"Bridge in need of painting"

Wait…

"Oh I've really just found a new material to use on you… Mr. Unemp-Li-

"This… I'll take this one…"

Li then held up the paper containing the job onto Min Seo's face.

Min Seo examines the paper for a bit, stares at it for awhile, without a single word… until-

"Yeah you know what… You really do have a death wish, It clearly says "Heirloom Highly Recommended" !"

"…And?"

Li replied to Min Seo

"AND YOU DON'T HAVE AN HEIRLOOM!! Are you really that stupid? and no less on your very first time, don'tcha know the difference between a cat and a tiger? You're the cat by the way, just in case you weren't following"

"But I do have an heirloom...

(Pulls up his sleeve and flexes his bicep)

…I got these genes"

Li proclaimed smirking.

Min Seo stares at him with a look of both annoyance and hopelessness.

"You know what... go kill yourself"

Min Seo grabs a custom stamp, dips it in an ink pad and holds it right above the paper.

"Just remember that whatever happens to you or the job is out of my responsibility, you mess up, it's your fault, got it?"

"Got it Chief"

Said Li proudly

"May you be aided by the gods, on behalf…

(STAMPS!)

…of Pigeon's"

"Tiger Hunting… [Heirloom Highly Recommended]"
