Chapter 17 - chapter 17

Xhani's POV

After resting under the rain from our heated session, we started driving back. I was tired, so I asked Zain to drive. I leaned on him, my head on his shoulder, just gazing at his handsome face.

"If you keep staring at me like that, Princess, I'll stop the car and we can go for round two," he teased, smirking.

I blushed bright red at his comment and turned away, smiling.

"I love it when you get shy," Zain teased further.

"Stop teasing me and focus on driving," I said, still blushing, unable to meet his eyes.

"I'd love to drive my 'long car' into your driveway," he joked, bursting into laughter.

I became flustered and turned bright red. "Zain, stop," I said, embarrassed, burying my face in the crook of his neck.

Zain chuckled at my reaction, resting his hand on my thigh and rubbing it.

The rest of the drive went smoothly. He dropped me off at home, called one of his mates to pick him up, and left.

I headed upstairs and dragged myself into my bathroom. I turned on the hot water and began filling the tub. I sat on the floor, waiting for the water to rise. My bathroom was beautiful: a big round bathtub greeted you upon entry, and on the right was an open shower with a large mirror stretching from floor to ceiling. Everything was white marble. Next to the bathtub, I had a small in-wall cabinet for my bath bombs, body scrubs, hair masks, foot masks—just about every product a girl could need. I took out a large, rose-shaped black bath bomb and tossed it in. Within minutes, the water turned a shimmering black, and a lovely scent filled the bathroom.

I slowly undressed, lifted one leg after the other, and slipped into the tub.

**The Next Day**

I was on my way to school when David called. He said he wanted to meet me before class. I told him I'd be in the school parking lot, and he said he'd wait for me there.

When I arrived, I found David standing next to his car. I walked toward him but didn't try to hug him this time, worried he might reject me again.

"What's up, David? You wanted to talk?" I asked, breaking the silence.

"Look, you were right. We don't have the right to tell each other who to date. I'm sorry if I crossed a line," he said, his voice full of regret. I immediately regretted my words from yesterday.

"Hey, don't say that," I replied softly, stepping closer and putting a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry for how I spoke to you and everything I said. I didn't mean it; I was just overwhelmed."

"It's okay. I was only worried about you," he said, taking my hands in his. "I care about you, Xhani. I always have. I hate seeing you get hurt."

"Hey, I know. Trust me, Zain isn't bad. He's good to me. He cares about me. There are no other girls in his life—trust me," I assured David.

"Okay, if you say so," he replied.

I couldn't help smiling and hugged him. "Aww, I love you, David. You're the best friend I could ask for," I said, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"And you're my sweet best friend," he echoed, returning the same gesture.

I was relieved everything with David seemed sorted. He's a great friend, and I'd hate to lose him.

The rest of the day went smoothly. I passed my test and did well in my practical exams too.

**A Few Days Later**

Saturday finally arrived, and I was glad there was no school. I woke up late and sent Zain a good morning text. He had a football match in another city, so I couldn't go with him. I'd already promised Ziya we'd go shopping and then catch a movie.

I went down to the kitchen and opened the fridge. A strong, disgusting smell hit me. I spotted some fruit, green veggies, and leftover fried rice. The smell was definitely coming from the rice. I took it out and sniffed. "Eww," I said, covering my mouth before nearly gagging.

I'd made this fried rice recently—why did it smell so awful? I threw it away and made myself eggs and toast. But suddenly, I felt nauseous. I sprinted to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet.

After emptying my stomach, I stood up and splashed my face with cold water at the sink. I glanced at myself in the mirror and realized what might be happening.

**I might be pregnant.**
