Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Xhani POV

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My boyfriend was leaning against a chair with some blonde girl perched on his lap, his arms wrapped tightly around her. I locked my gaze on him from afar.

When he finally noticed me standing in the doorway, he quickly let go of the girl and pushed her off before running toward me.

"Stay here," he called over his shoulder to the blonde girl, then hurried in my direction.

I didn't wait for him. I turned and ran as fast as I could, my vision blurry with tears. I was so distracted that I tripped over a rock and landed hard on my face. That's when I realized I'd been crying. My legs and elbows were scraped and bleeding. "Great, Xhani," I muttered to myself.

Zain reached me and bent down to help.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" I growled, shoving him away.

"You're hurt. Let me see," he insisted, trying to check my arms and knees.

"I SAID DON'T TOUCH ME! GO BACK TO YOUR LITTLE SLUT!" I screamed through tears.

"First of all, she is not my little slut; she's a friend. Second, don't you trust me? And third, what the fuck are you doing here?" he shot back, grabbing my arms and forcing me to stand.

"I tried calling you, but you wouldn't pick up," I snapped. "I came here to talk about the picture you posted of me. But instead, I find you cuddling another whore." I glared at him, demanding answers.

"What photo are you talking about? We have plenty of pictures together. Why are you questioning me now?" His tone grew angry.

"You posted a picture from our time at the hut—where I was half-naked. Why would you post something like that?" My voice shook with fury.

"You're my girlfriend, and I can post any picture of you I want. I didn't know I wasn't allowed to post pictures of my own girlfriend," he yelled, voice dripping with rudeness and anger.

"I was naked, Zain! How could you post such an indecent photo of me? You were the one who said you don't post on social media—so why now?" I demanded, yanking my arms free.

Zain's eyes flashed with fury. He stepped closer and grabbed my chin between his fingers.

"I didn't know I wasn't allowed to post pictures of what's mine. You are mine, so I'll do whatever I want with you—and your pictures," he said in a low, calm voice, squeezing my chin hard enough to hurt.

"You're hurting me!" I cried, trying to push him away, tears still trailing down my cheeks.

"So tell me, Xhani. Am I not your boyfriend? Don't you trust me? Am I not allowed to post pictures of my girlfriend?" He pressed harder, making me tremble in fear.

"LET GO OF ME! YOU'RE HURTING ME!" I sobbed. "I don't even know who you are anymore. Who is that girl? Isn't she the one who commented on my picture?" I managed to ask again.

"You know what, princess? I'm done with this shit. I'm done with your insecurities. I'm done with all of it. I'm breaking up with you," he snarled with disgust, giving me a shove before turning on his heel and walking away, leaving me standing there, clueless.

I stood there, dumbfounded, for what felt like ages. Had he just dumped me? I kept asking myself if I'd done something wrong. A drop of water splashed on my face, snapping me from my thoughts. I looked up at the gray, stormy sky as the wind picked up. The gusts battered my legs.

Taking a shaky breath, I lowered my head and left his school, returning to my car. I slumped into the driver's seat, too numb to think. "Did he really just break up with me?" I mumbled. "Am I too insecure? What have I done?" The rain pounded on the windshield, an unrelenting torrent.

I wasn't sure how long I sat there. Eventually, I noticed a few students leaving the school, dashing through the downpour to their cars. Just as I went to start my car, the passenger door opened and Zain slipped inside. I stared at him in confusion, waiting for an explanation, but he just stared out the window.

"Drive," he said in his deep voice, still not looking at me.
