Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Setting the Trap

Prince's mind worked like a machine, analyzing every possible way to bring Mr. Jang down. The easiest way was exposure—turning the public eye against him with undeniable proof. But how? If past complaints had been buried, it meant Mr. Jang was careful.

"Careful men make mistakes when they feel untouchable."

His other self was right. Mr. Jang had been doing this for too long, protected by the silence of his victims and the ignorance of those in power. It was time to shatter that silence.

At school, Prince played his role as an ordinary student. The teachers saw him as polite, reserved, perhaps even a little withdrawn. His classmates thought he was just another transfer student trying to fit in. No one suspected the truth.

Except Soyeon.

She watched him now, the curiosity in her eyes mixed with uncertainty. After their conversation, she hadn't spoken to him much, but she observed him carefully. Prince didn't mind. He needed her trust, and more importantly, he needed her knowledge.

When lunch break came, he approached her.

"We need to talk."

Soyeon hesitated, then nodded, leading him toward the back of the school where fewer students gathered.

"Do you know where he lives?" Prince asked, getting straight to the point.

Her eyes widened. "What?"

"Mr. Jang. His home. His habits. His weaknesses."

She swallowed, glancing around before lowering her voice. "I… I don't know everything, but I heard he lives alone in an apartment near the subway station. Sometimes he stays late at school. And…"

She trailed off.

Prince narrowed his eyes. "And?"

Soyeon hesitated, then sighed. "A girl from my class last year—she disappeared."

Prince's entire body went still.

"Disappeared?"

"She transferred suddenly," Soyeon explained. "At least, that's what they told us. But she left without saying goodbye, and no one knows where she went. It was weird."

"Suspicious."

His other self was already calculating. If Mr. Jang was involved, then this was bigger than just harassment. It could be something far worse.

Prince nodded. "I need you to do something."

Soyeon hesitated. "What?"

"Keep an eye on him. Watch how he acts, who he talks to, who he favors. And if he ever asks to speak with a student alone—tell me."

She bit her lip, then nodded. "Okay."

Prince smiled slightly. "Good."

The trap was beginning to take shape.

That night, Prince followed Mr. Jang.

He stayed in the shadows, watching as the man left the school and headed toward his apartment. He took note of the surroundings—CCTV cameras, blind spots, security. Mr. Jang's apartment was on the third floor of an old building. No wife, no children.

A predator living alone.

Prince waited until the lights in the apartment turned off. Then, silently, he moved closer. He wasn't breaking in—not yet. He was simply gathering information.

But as he stood in the darkness, watching the man's window, he felt it.

That cold voice in his mind.

"This one doesn't deserve mercy."

Prince closed his eyes for a moment, forcing himself to focus.

"Not yet."

Justice required precision. And he would be precise.

The next day, something unexpected happened.

Mr. Jang didn't come to school.

Prince noticed immediately. The students whispered about it, but no one knew why. Soyeon glanced at him across the classroom, her expression questioning.

Prince felt the tension in his chest.

Did someone else get to him first?

Or had Mr. Jang realized that someone was hunting him?

Either way, the game had begun. And Prince wasn't going to stop until it was over.
