The world around Lucas fell absolutely silent.
What Erebos had just said...
"His son?" muttered Annabeth, shocked.
Lucas felt a crushing weight on him. No, that didn't make sense. He had been claimed by Nyx! He was the son of the Night, not the Dark!
But deep down, something inside him whispered that it was true.
His body began to tremble. Not from fear... but from something different. Something he couldn't control.
Erebos closed one of his hands and Lucas felt a tug on his chest. A familiar darkness enveloped him, as if Tartarus itself was trying to take him over.
He fell to his knees.
"Lucas!" Percy shouted, running to him, but a barrier of shadows prevented him from getting any closer.
Erebos' voice echoed like thunder.
"Your destiny has never been with the Olympian gods, boy. You belong to the darkness. Just like me. Just like Nyx."
Lucas tried to fight it, but he felt the truth burning inside him.
He wasn't just Nyx's son.
He was also the son of Erebos.
