Chapter 15 - Chapter twelve ( Guilt and pain)

Looking at the familiar portrait in his study, Richard's heart became heavy with guilt and pain.He had failed his twin.

His mind wandered to when they were young, two ambitious and determined handsome princes that busied themselves with adventures.

They would go into forests and try to discover places they've heard of. Thinking about all this a bittersweet smile appeared on his lips.

If he had known all this adventures would have led to his brother's death he wouldn't have been so eager.

Staring at the portrait again Richard wondered how his brother would have handle a situation like his of he was to be the king.

He knew from the start that being a king wasn't his thing. Oscar was the oldest, the smartest and the way finder. He found solutions to problems that he ran away from.

He Richard was a coward. He always ran away from his problems and seeked refuge in his brother.

Maybe if he had embraced his fears, if he hadn't been a coward maybe oscar would still be alive.

If he hadn't been a coward he wouldn't have ran off after accidentally pushing his brother into the River thinking it was shallow and Oscar would have found his way out.

He couldn't clear the image of his brothers eyes boring into his. It was filled with pain and betrayal.

Why didn't he just reach out his hands to pull him out?

Why didn't he be the help instead looking for help?

Closing his eyes to stop the tears from falling Richard wondered if his brother could ever forgive him?

If there was a chance for him to change everything he would do it even if it meant he would have to sacrifice himself, he would willing do it.

Heaving a deep sigh Richard made his way towards his chambers. The thinking has drained him of the last strength he had. He had to rest for tomorrow since he had to start planning strategies for the war.

You never know when the opposing team strikes.

Nicholina stared blankly into the mirror as Christabel worked on her hair. Recoiling what happened earlier between her and Rheaphel she couldn't help but let out a sigh.

It seems the more she tried to stay away from him, that's when she happened to encounter him the most.

And now she would be with him tonight in the garden. She couldn't help but feel the awkwardness already. She wasn't too nonchalant neither was she over active. But with him she couldn't just find her words.

He was just unreadable, and the fact that he always had that teasing smirk, didn't make it any less easy.

Slipping into a thin soft blue gown embroidered with smooth soft fur,Nicholina once again felt impressed with Christabel's handy works. She was really talented.

Smiling slightly at Christabel,Nicholina made her way to the royal garden, her heart thumping in her chest. Why did she have to do this?
