"This can't be happening ' you can't force me into marrying a man I know nothing about,father you can't " Nicholina sobbed in her Mother's arms. King Richard stood with his hands at his back looking at his daughter cry bitterly in her Mother's arms,with every sob his felt his heart shatter yet he knew proceeding with the marriage agreement would be the best way to end the coming war before it even started. "Nicholina! You know better than to sit there and throw tantrums, do you think of I had anything to do to stop this approaching war I wouldn't do it? This kingdom is at its breaking point and the least you can do as its princess is to agree to this marriage agreement " Richard said sternly despite the pain and guilt. He was a king and it was his duty as a king to put his kingdom first before anything even if it was to let his little flower into marrying a cruel and heartless king he was obliged to do so. A gasp escaped Nicholina's lips as she processed what her father had said,so this was it ,the time had finally come,where she had to stand up for her kingdom,she was being prepared for this her whole life and just like that it was time. The tears that rolled down her face was quickly wiped away by her,she immediately straightened her back and her flushed face was now a straight face like that of a princess on a quest to save her kingdom. " I sincerely apologize for my earlier behavior, I gladly and willingly respond to my call of duty" Nicholina bowed.
Looking at his daughter, tears threatened to escape Richard's eyes his little flower was now a woman who had accepted her fate without questioning him,she had agreed to marry a man she barely knew in order to save her kingdom,guilt and pain gnawed at Richard's heart yet he also felt proud of her, she was willing to do anything for her kingdom.To show his gratitude King Richard slightly bowed at his daughter and without altering a word he walked out of her chambers cursing himself and his failure as a father .
