Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Forbidden Power and the Path to the Frost Giants

As the system processed Kael's ten high-cost lottery draws, a series of glowing panels materialized before him. One by one, the rewards appeared in his system space.

The first six items were pieces of Legacy-class equipment.

Kael glanced at them briefly. Legacy-class gear was rare, an artifact-grade ranking that could grant overwhelming advantages. However, there was one major flaw—they were all warrior-class weapons and armor.

A finely crafted adamantine greatsword, a legendary-tier shield, and intricately enchanted plate armor, all gleaming with potent auras. To a swordsman, knight, or berserker, these would be priceless artifacts.

To Kael?

"Useless," he muttered, storing them away in system space. Even if they had world-breaking attributes, he was a magic caster.

The seventh, eighth, and ninth items were scrolls, something he rarely received. Level-Up Scrolls.

He narrowed his eyes. "Interesting."

The system provided an explanation.

[Level-Up Scroll: Upon use, instantly increases the user's level by 1. Cannot be used after reaching level 100.]

Kael let out a thoughtful hum. "Three of them…"

That meant he could gain three free levels instantly. However, using them now would be a waste.

His leveling pace was still manageable, but once he neared level 100, experience would become significantly harder to obtain. These scrolls would be invaluable later, when every single level-up required absurd amounts of experience.

"I'll save them for level 97," he decided.

The system acknowledged his choice, storing them securely in his inventory.

Then came the final reward.

A 10th-tier magic scroll.

Kael's gaze sharpened as he picked it up. The scroll radiated an overwhelming aura, its inscriptions glowing faintly with chaotic energy. He inspected the details.

[Summoning Abyssal Wrath: A 10th-tier magic spell that calls forth a horde of demons from the abyss. These creatures attack indiscriminately, including the summoner.]

Kael's lips curled slightly. "So, a double-edged sword."

This spell would be a disaster in large-scale warfare. Unlike YGGDRASIL, where players could farm experience from their own summons, in this world, summoned beings were not counted as EXP sources.

Still, a chaotic rampage of high-tier demons could devastate armies and cause mass destruction. If properly controlled, they could be turned into a weapon of absolute devastation.

But that was the problem—they could not be controlled.

He had to test it.

"Ralvok," Kael said suddenly.

The quagoa king, who had been standing nearby in obedient silence, immediately lowered his head. "Yes, great one?"

"Take me to the Frost Giants' territory."

Ralvok hesitated for a brief moment but quickly nodded. "As you command, great one. But… may I ask the reason?"

Kael's eyes gleamed. "I need a battlefield where I can test something… dangerous."

Ralvok shuddered but complied. He gave orders to his warriors, and within moments, the journey began.

The path to the Frost Giants' land was perilous. Unlike the controlled caverns of the quagoa, the glacial valleys were untamed, filled with natural dangers and powerful beasts.

The temperature dropped significantly, icy winds howling through the jagged peaks. The terrain was a mix of sheer cliffs, frozen tundra, and ancient ice-covered ruins.

Kael noticed massive footprints embedded deep in the snow. Even before reaching the heart of their land, the presence of the giants was evident.

Then, they encountered one of them.

A towering frost giant, standing over ten meters tall, its skin resembling hardened ice, its eyes burning with cold fury. It had noticed them.

"Intruders," the giant growled, gripping an enormous war axe. "You dare step into our land?"

Kael met its gaze with a bored expression. "I do."

The frost giant roared, charging with surprising speed.

Kael didn't move.

The moment the giant swung its axe, Kael teleported above it, avoiding the attack effortlessly. His hand rose.

"Sky Spear."

A glowing spear of pure destruction materialized above him, twisting with compressed power. With a simple flick of his fingers, it descended at impossible speed, piercing straight through the giant's skull.

The creature collapsed instantly, its body shattering into ice and bone.

Ralvok and the other quagoa were stunned.

"Th-the frost giants were our greatest adversaries…" Ralvok muttered in awe. "Yet he… he crushed one in an instant."

Kael didn't react. He continued clearing out the weaker monsters, eliminating every frost wolf, troll, and giant in his path, leaving the entire mountain range empty of hostile life.

Finally, satisfied, he turned to Ralvok.

"You will guard this land. Develop it as you see fit. I have other matters to attend to."

Ralvok immediately bowed. "At once, great one!"

Kael then mounted Hamsuke, the large beast shifting slightly under his weight before bounding forward, leaving the frost-covered mountains behind.

The cold winds howled as he went toward the Forest of Tob, his mind already planning his next move.
