THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
The monsters closed in, hunger in their eyes.
His tiny chicken legs moved at lightning speed, dodging between trees. "WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?!"
Then, a new notification popped up.
[New Skill: Predator's Curse has been activated!]
[All predatory monsters in range have locked onto you.]
His tiny chicken heart stopped.
"...Wait. ACTIVATED?!"
So that meant—
He had triggered it himself?!
"TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF!"
[Deactivating Predator's Curse.]
The effect vanished instantly. The monsters froze, suddenly losing interest. One of the Shadowfang Panthers yawned, glanced around in confusion, then just… wandered off.
The Bloodmaw Grizzly sniffed the air, huffed, and stomped away.
The vulture, mid-dive, stopped in midair, did a U-turn, and flew off like nothing happened.
He just stood there.
"...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
So, he wasn't cursed forever—he just accidentally triggered the skill!
His tiny body collapsed onto the ground, exhausted.
"This is the dumbest skill ever…"
He sighed and slowly got up, his mood at rock bottom.
A Sad Chicken Walks the Forest…
With his dreams of a badass evolution shattered, he wandered aimlessly through the woods.
"...Man, I was really expecting something cooler."
No bigger wings. No fire breath. No super strength.
All he got was a predator magnet skill and some weird aura that didn't even work yet.
He kicked a rock in frustration.
"Stupid evolution. Stupid system. Stupid—"
CLASH!
A loud noise snapped him out of his sulking.
His head shot up.
Not far ahead, past the trees, he saw bright flashes of light.
Swords clashing. Spells flying. Voices shouting.
A human adventurer party was fighting something.
His eyes widened.
"Wait… humans?!"
For the first time since arriving in this world, he wasn't the only intelligent creature around.
Curiosity sparked in his mind.
Who were they fighting? Could they help him? Or… should he stay hidden?
He crept closer, peeking from behind a bush.
And what he saw made his feathers stand on end.
Because the thing they were fighting… was definitely not normal.
