Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Leon's Cat Bed Setup

Sophie: "…" No way could she be sure about that.

She had just stretched out her paw when Leon reached out first, steadily taking her paw and placing it in his palm.

Sophie tilted her head up and looked at Leon with her big, clear eyes. Every emotion in her eyes was there for Leon to see.

A glint of amusement flashed in Leon's eyes, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly. "You still want me to comfort her?"

Just then, Jocelyn, who was not far away, suddenly stopped crying and looked at Leon. "Leon, honey, even your cat knows how to comfort me."

Sophie inwardly cried foul. If it weren't for the system's task, there's no way she'd want Leon to comfort Jocelyn.

Just as she was worrying, the system's voice rang out in her mind. "Task completed. One point rewarded."

"Seriously? That's it?" Sophie was full of doubts.

"She's not crying anymore. It counts as you got Leon to comfort her."

"Do you just decide when a task is completed? Isn't there any real standard?"

The system quickly denied it. "No way!"

"Then how come this is considered a completed task?" Sophie was annoyed.

"Jocelyn stopped crying because you brought Leon over. So, the task is done."

Sophie muttered, "What a crazy rule."

After that, the system didn't respond, and Sophie didn't ask further.

She kept rubbing against Leon's palm, and her little paw even grasped Leon's finger. She looked so cute that Leon was beaming with smiles. In Benny's view, ever since they got this cat, Leon had been smiling much more often.

Leon played with Sophie for a while before returning to the couch. Jocelyn was still in the living room, looking at Leon eagerly, but Leon didn't even glance at her.

Benny couldn't stand it any longer and pulled Jocelyn to the yard. When he came back, Jocelyn was already gone.

"Jocelyn left," Benny said as he entered the room.

Leon's expression turned serious. "Don't tell anyone my schedule from now on. Next time, I'll get a new manager."

Leon's address had always been kept secret. Besides Benny, few people knew about this villa. The fact that Jocelyn could find it was obviously because Benny had leaked the information.

Benny's face froze, and he quickly assured, "Won't happen again."

Leon didn't pay any more attention and picked up a book to read.

Sophie squatted nearby, not daring to make a sound. She always felt that the atmosphere among the three of them was strange.

At lunchtime, instead of cat food, Sophie ate the milk - soaked cookies specially made by Benny. She was very satisfied.

After lunch, Leon went into the study, Benny left, and Sophie went back to her nest for a nap. She peeked at Leon, and when their eyes met, Sophie quickly looked away and pretended to sleep in the cat bed. Leon looked at her, smiled faintly, and went back to the second floor.

The day passed quickly.

As night fell, the lights in the villa came on one by one. Leon changed into sportswear and called Sophie, "Hey, little furball, wanna go for a walk?"

Sophie was a bit surprised and followed Leon out of the villa. It turned out that this was a high - end villa area with strict security. Most of the residents were celebrities, so Leon didn't have to worry about safety and privacy.

Sophie's legs were short, and after running for a while, she was out of breath. She simply squatted by the roadside and waited for Leon.

Just then, Penny and Vince passed by. Penny saw Sophie and exclaimed in surprise, "Honey, there's a cute little cat here!"

Vince frowned. "No idea where it came from."

Penny squatted down to pet Sophie, and Sophie didn't dodge.

Leon ran over and, seeing this scene, said jealously, "Anyone can pet you?"

Penny's eyes lit up. "Leon, is this your cat? When did you get it?"

"I picked it up some time ago."

Vince snorted. "You've got time to keep a cat?"

Leon smiled. "You seem to have plenty of free time too."

Penny picked up Sophie and asked Leon, "Do you like this cat? Can you give it to me?"
