Chapter 26 - Chapter 16: Complete Betrayal (Page 1/2)

Inside the valley, it was a scene of devastation.

There were numerous deep pits emitting black smoke on the ground. In the relatively flat area, two people stood facing each other, filled with killing intent towards each other.

"Undead Mage Daniel, surrender now." An old man with white hair had a cold smile on the corner of his mouth.

Undead Mage!

This is a type of existence with a very high bounty in the Light Faction. As long as one is killed, the gold coins obtained would be enough for him to live a worry-free life. Even with this reward, there would be a chance to enter the Light Church for further studies.

In order to track down his whereabouts, he searched everywhere. It was not easy for him to find out that the other party was hiding in this insignificant novice village. Therefore, he did not hesitate to humble himself to be the small village chief of the novice village and explore everywhere.

Unfortunately, the other party was very well-hidden. After spending several months, he still couldn't find any clues and was almost on the verge of giving up.

Fortunately, just a few hours ago, he felt a powerful presence near the Grey Wolf territory. After coming to investigate, he finally found the other party's whereabouts.

"Old man with one foot in the coffin. Who will win and who will lose is not certain. Don't think I'm afraid of you just because you are one rank higher than me!" Daniel's already pale face was now even paler and extremely weak. Even the harsh words he said were weak.

"Shasha..."

A sudden sound of footsteps came.

"Huh?"

The two turned their heads simultaneously and saw a young man walking from the direction outside the valley. When he came closer, they saw the young man's appearance clearly.

"It's you?"

The village chief, who still had an impression of Jack, was slightly stunned. He never expected this daring adventurer to appear here.

Jack glanced at the two of them and immediately understood what was going on. His gaze finally fixed on the old man, smiled and waved, and asked knowingly, "Old man, why are you here?"

While speaking, he threw a detection skill -

[Flame Mage ·???]

Very good. Just like Daniel, except for the title, everything else was naturally a question mark, and even the name could not be known.

"...Humph!"

The old man snorted and said, "Leave here, otherwise I... Wait!"

Suddenly, he noticed something. A glint flashed in his eyes as he stared at Jack in disbelief, "Such an evil presence. Compared to you, the Undead Mage is as sacred as if he has received the Light's baptism!"

In order to accurately describe the other party's darkness and strangeness, he couldn't help but use rather disrespectful words.

Jack: "..."

I'm a law-abiding good youth. Am I really that evil?

Suppressing the urge to complain, Jack quickly walked to Daniel's side and whispered, "Can we win?"

"If you didn't come, I might still have a glimmer of hope of winning. Now that you're here, we're definitely going to lose." Daniel reached out and patted Jack's shoulder, very pleased.

Although this disciple was accepted not long ago, the fact that the other party was willing to come and help was quite valuable.

"You, him... So what should we do now?" Jack almost wanted to curse.

"I can secretly cast a spell to activate a teleportation array to send us away." Daniel whispered, "The prerequisite is that you need to block this guy for at least twenty seconds. Otherwise, all previous efforts will be wasted."

Twenty seconds!

Hearing this, Jack nodded. To Daniel's surprise, he asked, "Is there any other way?"

"There should be none." Daniel couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth.

If you're not willing, why did you nod?

"What are you two whispering about?"

Despite being shocked by the vaguely exposed evil presence of the other party, as a Spirit-level Mage, how could he tolerate the two openly plotting in front of him.

Kill the Undead Mage first. Take this brat to the Light Church. I will surely receive the bestowment from the Church's messenger!

Thinking of the bright future ahead, his eyes shone with an unconcealable greed. He raised the milky-white staff in his hand and prepared to attack.

"Your mentor is really immoral. He actually wants the disciple to take out the most precious treasures to help him escape." Jack shook his head and helplessly took two steps forward, "Give it to me!"

The old man: "..."

Daniel: "..."

The two were stunned simultaneously.

Give it to you?

What does that mean?
