"I wonder how the humans will entertain me today?" a beautiful being with eyes bluer than a cloudless sky and luscious gold hair flowing from his head onto his shoulders with a halo above his head asked with a gentle smile.
He could be seen sitting on a chair, his head leaned on his hand. He was observing a small orb, which was, in fact, the world he had to observe.
He was a god—the god light, Luminous. He had always watched over the world as it was his duty. It wasn't a tiring job—he found it more entertaining than anything else—but he could not interfere with what was happening inside the world.
"Day after day, he sat among the stars, watching the lives of the people—the way they lived and how their final moments unfolded."
"Huh? Another Storm. I left the last one alone, but if I don't stop this one, many people will die... Mmm, what to do?" Luminous said with a dissatisfied look.
A Storm was a phenomenon that, on the surface, appeared to be a normal weather condition but, on the inside, contained an entirely different space filled with monsters.
He touched the very small planet, which could fit into his hand, with his index finger.
"I guess this is the only choice... Ahhhh! But I don't wanna... but if I don't..." He sighed, rubbing his head violently.

"Run!!! A Storm's coming!" a person yelled as he ran in the opposite direction.
In the distance, a Storm could be seen razing trees. It was accompanied by hail, lightning, rain, strong winds, and a cyclone.
"Ahhhh! Run!!!" another screamed, trying to escape, but it was ultimately too late.
The Storm swallowed him up. Those who saw these events could only watch helplessly from afar, their faces full of fear and pity. The Storm was headed their way at an alarmingly fast pace.
A woman fell to her knees, her hands shaking and her face streaked with tears. "Oh, Luminous, please protect us. Please steer the Storm away," she prayed, her hands tightly clasped.
The other people saw this woman pleading to their god, and they, too, followed her lead.
"Please, Luminous, save us!" the crowd prayed on their knees.
It was not a large number of people. Helios was a small town located a few miles away from the Royal Capital. The town was named Helios because it was considered a place of hell. Storms came frequently—monsters even more than that. The town was poor; the houses could fall apart at any moment. It was an abandoned place, receiving no support from other cities. The local lord did nothing but drink his wine and live his life as any noble would.
The pleas of the people, staring as the Storm rapidly approached them, could be heard from a good distance away.
"Please! Luminous, grant your divine protection!" The people continued praying. Every single person that could be seen was on their knees.
The Storm approached ever closer... and closer.
The people had previously asked their local lord for support. If only a Seraph had arrived. A Seraph being a person blessed by receiving a Stigmata.
But no one came...
The people were left to die.
"Please! Luminous! Spare us!" The prayers continued, the people's voices louder than before.
The Storm was now at the edge of their town. The first house was devoured by the Storm, then the second, and so on. The people could feel the wind blowing as they tried their best not to get swept away, but they continued to pray on their knees, believing it was their only hope.
The people kept their heads on the ground, their eyes tightly shut. A woman clenched the hand of her child. Some still held a sliver of hope, while others had given up entirely.
The ground began to shake. Rocks rolled and jumped. The noise was deafening, yet none of those who prayed opened their eyes.
Then everything went quiet. The trembling earth stilled. The roaring winds ceased. A few people were brave enough to open their eyes, while others remained frozen in fear.
"Ahhhhhh! A miracle! Everyone! Everyone!" a man yelled in a joyful tone, quickly jumping up from the ground.
Those who had kept their eyes shut opened them. What they saw was breathtaking. The sky was clear, and a warm light shone upon the small village—or what was left of it. The Storm had vanished. The people leaped from the ground, hugging each other. Some cried in joy, while others laughed with relief. Their faces, once stricken with terror, now gleamed with happiness. The once gloomy, oppressive atmosphere had lifted—joy filled the air.
"Praise Lord Luminous!" the people shouted, their voices causing a small tremor.

Meanwhile Luminous sat there, watching the joy of the people after he stopped the Storm. It put his heart at ease, making him faintly smile—if only for a moment. But his mind was occupied with other thoughts.
"I'm glad I saved all those people... but now that I've broken the sacred rule..." He sighed, falling to the ground.
He rolled around, thinking of what would happen next. When a god broke the sacred rule—that being never to interfere with the world they were observing—they would be reincarnated into a random world as a random being.
There was nothing he could do to stop it. He stopped rolling on the ground and stood back up.
"I guess I'll just have to accept my fate. Let's just hope I don't become an insect or something similar." He sighed, shaking his head.
The time came. The voice of the void spoke. It was a beautiful, angelic voice that echoed through Luminous's mind.

As soon as the voice stopped, his form began to break apart, cracking like a fragile vase. A pure white light emanated from the fractures. Luminous didn't panic—he was calm. He knew what would happen due to the choice he had made. He only observed his body breaking apart. It wasn't painful; it merely felt like an ant walking across his skin.
"I wonder what I'll become and where I'll end up. I hope it's..." Luminous said but couldn't finish his sentence.

His body finally shattered, leaving only fragments of what once was.
The place where a god had once sat and watched over the world—the place filled with stars illuminating a dark void—was now empty. The only living being that had resided there was gone.
