Riley rest back on his sit with his eyes closed. The earlier scene kept repeating in his head. He tried shooking off Alex's voice and Lila mocking laughter that kept popping up in his mind.
"Your order Sir." Came the female bartender's voice as she carefully put down the order on the table.
Riley nodded dismissively, poured himself a glass and gulped it down in one go. The more he drank, the more the echoes of their voices kept getting louder and louder in his head.
"You dare raise your hands on me?"
"I never loved you, can't you tell from the beginning? A moment of curiosity, that's what you are."
"Brother, you're still as stupid as ever? Hahaha."
"Why? Just why was all this happening to me?" He mumbled, juggling a whole bottle in a go. "Noo! Get the fuck off my head." He shook his head, holding it with one of his hands as he reached out to take another bottle but found them all empty.
"Two more!" He drunkenly called out to the bartender who hurriedly brought them. "Good."
"The hell? How did you manage to drink this much?" The male figure that just walked in said, reaching out to grab the bottle that Riley is already halfway through gulping down.
"Leo? You're here." Riley said, struggling to open his half closed eyes.
"Yeah? Look how wasted you are. Gosh, just how much have you drunk?" Leo asked, putting the bottle back onto the table. "Wait… Why's there a red handprint on your right cheek? What happened?"
Riley's gaze drifted off, his eyes glazing over as the memories came flooding back. "Alex...we broke up," he muttered, his voice barely audible.
Leo's expression darkened, his eyes narrowing. "So? What did he do?" he asked, his tone low and menacing.
Riley's eyes snapped back into focus, and he let out a humorless laugh. "He...he showed me my worth," he said, his voice dripping with bitterness.
Leo's face twisted in anger, and he reached out to gently touch the red handprint on Riley's cheek. "I warned you, didn't I? But you were too blind in love."
"I just…I
"Pull yourself together, will you? It's not that it's the end of the world anyway. Someone would love you like you ever imagined." Leo comforted, placing his hand on Riley shoulder. "Now, let's get you out of here."
"I don't want to go yet, I just want to drink." Riley protested, swating Leo's hand away form his shoulder.
"You wanna drink yourself to stupor because of that bastard? Nah, ain't gonna happen when I'm here." Leo said pulling Riley up and wrapping his arm around his shoulder.
Leo paid for the drinks and pulled Riley out of the bar. As they stepped into the chilly night air, Leo realized he hadn't driven himself to the bar. "Did you bring your car?" he asked Riley, who shook his head, still dazed.
Leo sighed and hailed a taxi, helping Riley into the backseat. As they settled in, Leo wrapped a supportive arm around Riley's shoulders. "We'll get you home, and then we'll deal with that jerk Alex," he said, his voice firm and reassuring.
"We're here." The taxi driver said as he stopped in front of the address he was given.
""Don't bother about me, I can take care of myself." Riley slurred as he got down from the cab. "You're in no sh...."
"Seriously, I'm good. Just go home before your boyfriend bombards my cellphone with calls." Riley cut him off, waving his hand dismissively as he stumbled towards his apartment building.
"Okay, take care." Leo waved as the taxi took him away.
Riley felt the emptiness build up inside him instantly, but he's not going cry anymore. He would think of Alex as a fleeting moment too. He's forgettable, yeah, so he would forget him like he never existed in his life.
He stumbled on his feet and fell down, hurting his knee and palm in the process. "Dammit." He mumbled, standing up and reaching out to the door handle of his apartment. He decided to rent a small apartment for himself and not live in the big house.
Just as he was about to twist the handle after inserting the key, he heard footsteps behind him. Alerted, he turned back to have a look but he was instantly grabbed by two huge men. The drunkenness and dizziness he was feeling a awhile ago was instantly gone.
"Let me go!" He struggled hard to free himself from two men. In the process of his struggling, he noticed the cars that was packed. How come he didn't heard the sound of car packed behind him or was it here before him? Guess he was too drunk to notice.
Actually, there were many of them, ten to be precise. "What do you want from me?" Riley asked but their grip on him only tightened.
"Save yourself the stress, Omega." said one of the men holding him.
Of all the parked cars, there's one that looked more luxurious than the others. He's not that fond of car brands, he didn't know the name of the car, perhaps, this was not the time to be concerned about such trivial things.
Riley assumed all the men standing to be the guards with how they were dressed. One of the guards walked to the side of the luxurious car, as if going to open the door for someone. Riley stopped struggling, saving his strength for whoever that is going to stepped out of that car and waited patiently for the guard to open to door.
The guard reached for the door knob and opened it slowly and silently. He stepped aside after opening the door, and stretched his hand forward, signaling the person to come out.
'Why's it taking long for the person to come out?' Riley thought, his patience wearing thin.
The person inside the car emerged with a deliberate movements. As the figure stepped out into the light, Riley's jaw dropped, his mind went blank, and he felt like he'd been punched in the gut as he stared at the last person he expected to see.
"You…"
