Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - Bound by Borders: The Last Human Stronghold.

Grey Scorpion argued, "It's not my fault; you're the one who said to let him have some fun, right? And I did try to trick him into killing the boy, but he turned out to be much smarter than I thought." The man he was speaking with stood up and walked over to Grey Scorpion, saying, "This is the last time I'm telling you to go and capture that Green Spirit." With that, he opened a gate, and Grey Scorpion headed towards it.An old mage entered the room and said, "Our boss, Tesior, we found the Green Spirit. He's headed to Huydale's castle with some elves." Tesior replied, "Great! Since there's a battle happening there, we'll join in. Send 200 mages to ambush him in the Silvershade Mirage's Forest, and have 10 mages spread out around the castle to stop him if he tries to run. And if the elves try to protect him, take them out. I want that Green Spirit brought back to me alive."5 days earlier"Are you planning to kill me?" Richard inquired, his voice tinged with apprehension. The Green Spirit responded with a smirk, "Too dim-witted for that. We might just meet again there, Grey Scorpion." With those words, he opened fire at Grey Scorpion, who swiftly took cover behind a shield. In a daring move, the Green Spirit seized Richard's body and leaped through the gate.Meanwhile, Grey Scorpion, sheltered behind the protective barrier, muttered to himself, "Tesior's foolishness! If only he had let me capture him from the start, none of this would have transpired. I could have averted this whole mess."The Green Spirit and Richard stepped out of the portal into a dimly lit area surrounded by torches. Confused, Richard asked, "Where are we? Are we still on Earth? Are we safe?" Green Spirit remained silent, urging Richard to keep moving. As they moved, an arrow narrowly missed Richard, but with a bit of help from Green Spirit, he managed to dodge it.Amid a skirmish between humans and skeletons, Richard was petrified by the unsettling scene. When a skeleton attacked him, Richard fought back without Green Spirit's assistance. Swords materialized in his hands, and despite his fear, he bravely battled the skeletons one by one. After a grueling fight, Richard found himself worn out and surrounded by enemies, still without Green Spirit's help. He threw his swords in a last-ditch effort, causing them to vanish. Just as the skeletons closed in, a knight appeared out of nowhere and swiftly defeated them all.Relieved, Richard turned to thank the knight, only to be knocked unconscious by a sudden blow to the head. One of the knight mates spilled a bucket filled with water on Richard's face and he woke up and noticed that His hands were cuffed with some twine and discovered after that his eyes were covered with some black veil and Richard heard Green spirit voice when he said: "Don't say anything; just let us know who we're with and see what we can do." While eating something, one of them said, " So tell us where are the rest of Corby Stronghold's people?" Richard stood still and didn't answer and that let the same guy ask again" I will ask one more time and I don't usually repeat myself, where are the rest of Corby Stronghold's people?" and still Richard didn't reply, because of that he started taking random punches on his face and suddenly they removed the veil from his face, Richard was looking around him and the only thing he sees darkness with a small fireplace and a man sitting nearby to it, one of the other people start talking to the man who is nearby the fireplace with a weird language that Richard couldn't understand that lead green spirit to gave him the sign to talk to them, and with that Richard said" Who are you, folks? And why did you take me? I was just protecting myself out there?" The same man whom Richard was sure that he is the leader said" Finally, we have heard your voice, we thought that you don't speak English, and that let us think a little bit about which one of the 220 languages you Humans speak, Okay English then so let me ask one more time, where are the rest of Corby Stronghold's people? And believe me, I won't ask again" Richard with a scared tone said" I don't know anything about who you are talking about, I was in another world and I.." Green spirit interrupted him and said" Stop talking already, are you Dumb? You forgot to tell them your last name too, answer them nothing more" The man was waiting for Richard to complete when one of the guards came running and said," Sir Tasar Valfir one of the scouts saw them heading North towards the Silvershade Mirage' forest and Maybe they are going to huydale' castle." That led Tasar Valfir to stand up and say" Are they fool enough to go to a castle engaged in a war now, Let's prepare to catch them before they Leave The forest, and you white human, you are coming with us"Richard was blindfolded again and was brought along with the elves and put on a huge kind of wagon, Richard was so confused and had so many questions without any answers still, "Can you please tell me, what is going on, Green Spirit, Please?" Richard said to Green Spirit within him, " What do you want to know boy? there are so many things that I felt already that you don't know, but I have no idea what exactly you want to know" Green Spirit said, " About everything, this world, why they are fighting, why there are elves which I know that they are only a myth they shouldn't be real, or am I dreaming, Please tell me I feel that I am going to lose my mind, at first I thought they are humans but as soon as I saw their ears I knew that they are not." Richard said within him. Green spirit with a serious tone " Okay listen to me very carefully I want you to keep your eyes closed behind that black veil, Okay?", " Okay, I will" Richard Replied. As soon as Richard did what Green Spirit told him to do, Richard started seeing things like a dream, so Green Spirit could tell him and show him at the same time.( 632 Years After The Great War )The scene starts with a young woman entering a great Hall in the castle of Glaucter Fortress which is the last castle of Humans, most of them are chanting about their victory against a bunch of goblins, which they had been hiding within the city for almost 3 years but the City's Soldiers succeded to find their nest underneath the city and Kill them all. While everyone was dancing and drinking Wine, the door opened with the entry of King Tyrian Ironhand the VII Of Ravenspire's House, everyone stood still and stopped dancing and the Whole Hall became quiet, he started his speech and said " Today is the day to prove to the haters that the Last Kingdom of Humans are still standing and Won't Fall ever, those Goblins that were sent to Us for the second time were meant to shake our belief but no, no one will ever succeed To do that. Yes, they have killed more than 2500 people in the past 3 years, but still, we have swept out the whole number that was inside the kingdom, which we found out was 3400 Goblins underneath our dear kingdom, We will never Fall, "Ravens' Flight, Sovereign Might"." and everyone started yelling and shouting with the same Words "Ravens' Flight, Sovereign Might.", "Glaucter Fortress Stood still after the Great Conspiracy against Humans which led to the distraction of Two Castles and only one remained which is Glaucter Fortress and the other became only ruins, The Ruins of Corby Stronghold and the Ruins of castle Ravenloft" Green Spirit Said, Richard Said, " Ok, but can you skip some and tell me why all this happened and why humans were targeted and by whom they were targeted?"(517 years AGW)A new Scene appeared of the king of the Corby Stronghold Standing in the forest of SarrowSong waiting for the Leader of the Goblins, in no time the leader appeared Along with 20 guards of Huge Goblins, "The Leader of Goblins is here what an honor, I was waiting for you to make the deal that we agreed on" The King said, "Well you request to destroy the other two castles of human will be fulfilled don't worry but letting you stay with that Huge Space on your own not going to happen, we will establish some of our Camps their, especially in the silver shade mirage's forest, are we good" The Goblins' Leader said, " But we agreed on that you won't get close to our castle" The King with a sad face said, " that what you agreed on with yourself not with me I didn't say Yes to that, I just said I will see and let you know, and yeah adding to that 300.000 of Copper Dragon Coins to the offer." The scene ended with this.(862 Years AGW - Present )Richard with confusion on his face said within him as before, "So he betrayed his own kind but for what!!?", as soon as They reached Silvershade Mirage's Forest a sound from outside the covered wagon Shouted, " Watch out Mages Spotted ahead."As Tasar Valfir walked forward, commanding his warriors with steadfast purpose, the Elves stood alert, their defenses thrown up high. As he spoke, his powerful voice reverberated through the ranks like tempered steel, " How dare you cut off the royal scout elves' Soldiers!", One of the mages came closer to Tasar Valfir and seemed like he was the responsible for the mage's group and said with a tone full of indifference, " Please walk away we are not here for any of you, we only want that prisoner of yours, better for you to step away if you want to stay alive.", With a furious Look from Tasar Valfir said and his hand on his sword, "You don't know you little prick with whom are you talking? how dare you talk to me like that?", With the same cold look the mages Leader said, " Yes Tasar Valfir We know who you are, the First person after the king and the Best one of the 10 elves fighters, But still you haven't met a worthy opponent yet, so back off." With these words that the leader mages gave, Tasar Valfir Attacked with no previous warning, and in a click the Leader's mages disappeared, Tasar Valfir was Known for his fast moves but still, that leader of mages was faster, and with that, the other mages and elves started fighting, and Tasar Valfir shouted, " Let's Kill them all boys, don't let anyone of them alive, and protect that prisoner it seems he is more valuable then I thought." The numbers of the mages were way higher than the Elves but still, the Elves had the upper hand since they knew how to fight in any forest, Silvershade Mirage's Forest was empty of any kind of Monsters Since the Great war that gave them an advantage to fully focus on the mages. Tasar Valfir Saw that the mage Leader was standing far away from the fight and watching the fight, and he got the opportunity to attack him, with quick moves, Tasar Valfir avoided the other mages and went straight away to him, the mage leader saw him coming and a sword made of magic appeared on his hand and waited for the elves Leader to come with a smile on his face. After a lengthy clash between them, neither side managed to gain the upper hand. The mage's army got swapped out by the elves, but their leader stood alone. Realizing the odds turning against him, he used some kind of magic to push Tasar Valfir away and then made himself vanish in an instant afterward."let's camp here guys, gather the bodies of our fighters and put them on the wagons we will not bury our dead in this shitty forest, hurry up guys, and don't forget to light up those mage's bodies far away from our camp, and you bring to me that prisoner to my camp right now." Tasar Valfir said."Stay silent around that leader; he's not known for his tolerance towards prisoners. That's why I better take control since he inevitably is going to call for us after the mages arrive." the Green Spirit whispered, as Richard remained bound in the wagon."After a few minutes, the guards extracted Richard from the wagon and They cut the ropes binding his legs. "Should I take the lead and talk to him, or do you want to handle it?" Richard whispered to the Green Spirit. However, he received no response from the Green Spirit. As they approached the leader's camp, the guards removed the veil covering Richard's eyes, guiding him inside where Leader Tasar Valfir awaited."So, are you going to tell me what's going on, or should I figure it out myself?" Tasar Valfir's voice dripped with anger. Richard stood, biting his tongue, afraid that saying something might lead to regret. After a few tense minutes, Tasar Valfir stormed up to Richard, ready to throw a punch. The green spirit spoke through Richard's tongue, "I'm just a regular person in a place I shouldn't be, at the wrong time. Mages want to capture me because I stumbled upon one of their secret passages by mistake. That's why they're after me."Tasar Valfir seized Richard, pushing him against the wall, and scoffed, "Do you think I'm a fool to believe all this nonsense?" The green spirit, still using Richard's voice, responded, "I can prove it to you. Consider it a payment for letting me go. I know you plan to sell me to that awful fortress of Glaucter. Those humans there don't deserve to have me handed over to them." Tasar Valfir raised an eyebrow, remarking, "Okay, interesting. A human who hates humans. We'll see after we complete our mission."So Richard was held back as a prisoner in the wagon by the guards. Richard said to Green Spirit," How do you know about the secret path or are you just buying more time for us?, Green Spirit avoided answering him and he asked Richard to close his eyes to complete the story and show him what happened.(518 years AGW)After one year of the deal that humans called afterward "The Doomsday Pact: Humanity's Ruin" The goblins attacked the castle of Ravenloft and they changed one of the strongest castles to ruins in 2 days by attacking the city from inside since the castle got one of the largest sewers in the realm, and that was for them the biggest weakness since the goblins could enter the city easily unspotted, and for that Glaucter fortress was ready for any attack and more than 3000 of the survivals of the castle of Ravenloft peasants were seeking help and run into Glaucter fortress, indeed they helped them but it costs the Fortress a lot of time to check with each one and in the same time they were preparing and expecting an attack in any moments, The goblins, showing their intelligence, decided not to attack the fortress right away since it was known of their great army. Instead, they waited for two years while the King of Corby Stronghold kept pressuring them to attack. Eventually, they began preparing to attack Glaucter Fortress. The goblins prepared an army of 14,000 to face off against a mere 7,000 human soldiers. However, upon being detected by the watchtowers of Glaucter Fortress, the goblins were bombarded with fireballs, decimating over 4,000 of their troops. The battle raged on for 8 days, with the humans emerging victorious, slaying over 9,000 goblins and capturing 700 and the rest fled. In contrast, the human losses amounted to just 800 soldiers.Word spread that the King of Corby's Stronghold had conspired with the goblin leader. He was apprehended when seeking refuge at Glaucter Fortress after the goblins demolished Corby's Stronghold in revenge for his attacks on their camps in the Silver Shade Mirage Forest. Following his treachery against the fortress and humanity, he met his end with a beheading.Richard interrupted Green Spirit and said "...but the question that was on my mind is why there are no villages nor humans outside the last human kingdom.", Green Spirit said, "Just hang on I'll complete one more thing just don't jump the events."The King of the Elves, Ralnor Yinpetor, learned about the devastating wars between orcs and humans, as well as the widespread destruction across the Celestria continent. Being the peacemaker of three continents (Celestria, Zephyria, and Dunewindia), and overseeing two isles - Sable Sanctuary, inhabited by animals and a few monsters, and Shadowsoul Isle, controlled by mages and filled with various monsters - he swiftly journeyed from Dunewindia to Celestria. Upon arriving, he visited Glaucter Fortress and met its ruler, King Drest the Warden II.Without a preamble, King Ralnor Yinpetor questioned King Drest about the reasons behind engaging in battle with the orcs. King Drest, a wise and experienced knight, promptly recounted the events leading to the conflict. Upon hearing the tale, King Ralnor Yinpetor wasted no time in seeking an audience with the orc leader. Despite an initially uncomfortable meeting, he discerned that the root of the problem lay with humans, despite its origins tracing back to the former king of Corby's Castle.King Ralnor Yinpetor enforced a harsh punishment upon humans, forbidding them from owning land outside of Glaucter Fortress. Any human found residing elsewhere faced immediate execution. Despite a three-week grace period before the judgment's implementation, many humans opposed the decree, resulting in numerous casualties within the first week. Despite King Drest the Warden II's repeated attempts to persuade King Ralnor Yinpetor to reconsider, his efforts proved hopeless.Richard, his voice tinged with confusion, questioned, "So does that mean they're completely restricted from leaving?" The Green Spirit clarified, "No, they're free to travel, but each journey requires permission from one of the resident elves of Verdant Vale, where Glaucter Fortress is situated. They issue a permit detailing the departure and return times. When they spotted you near the ruins of Corby Stronghold, they apprehended you, fearing you were associated with the rebels and might divulge their whereabouts." Understanding dawned on Richard, "So they're tracking that group because they're living outside the fortress?" The Green Spirit, aiming to conclude the conversation, responded, "I'm not certain, but it's likely." Richard addressed the Green Spirit and the guards with determination, "I have a plan. Trust me, I don't want to die. I'll speak to their leader, confessing everything." The Green Spirit's tone turned furious, "Are you out of your mind? If they discover my presence, we'll be executed on the spot. The elves have hunted me for ages."The guards escorted Richard to the leader's camp, where Tasar Valfir, upon approval, freed him from the ropes and blindfold. He warned, "I hope what you have to say is worth my time. I'm exhausted, so make it quick." Richard, trembling with fear, pleaded, "Please promise me you won't interrupt until I've said everything." Despite the Green Spirit's attempts to silence him, Richard continued. Tasar Valfir, eyeing Richard suspiciously, reluctantly agreed, "Fine, but if it's bad news, I can't guarantee your safety."Richard requested a moment to sit down, inviting Tasar Valfir to do the same, emphasizing the importance of his words. He proceeded to disclose to Tasar Valfir the entirety of his connection with the Green Spirit, explaining that he hailed from a different realm and that the Green Spirit was intricately bound to him, making separation impossible. Richard expressed his commitment to aiding Tasar Valfir and noted the stark differences between the current Green Spirit and its previous incarnation. Throughout Richard's revelations, Tasar Valfir listened attentively, offering no visible reaction. Richard further mentioned that during their last interaction, it was the Green Spirit who had communicated with Tasar Valfir, not Richard himself. Tasar Valfir rose and began searching for something, a matter understood by the Green Spirit. Green Spirit interjected, saying, "There's no need for the Spirit Flame. I'm here, Tasar Valfir, the Slayer of Robros Pakrana. This should be sufficient confirmation that everything Richard has told you is true." Startled, Richard quickly interjected before Tasar Valfir could respond, asking about the Spirit Flame and the identity of Robros Pakrana. Tasar Valfir calmly explained, "Centuries ago, we discovered that in the presence of any kind of spirit, a unique element called the Spirit Flame would spontaneously manifest. Since then, we've used it to detect if any spirits are controlling humans. As for Robros Pakrana, he was a half-elf who attempted to seize the throne by inciting rebellion. Believing himself to be the one prophesied to rule the realm, he slaughtered thousands of elves and humans. None could defeat him until I finally ended his reign with my own sword."With a playful tone, the Green Spirit remarked, "Oh, you mean when you patted him on the back and claimed he was fighting you." Tasar Valfir, his tone angry, retorted, "Are you truly saying this to my face? How dare you!" Richard, attempting to defuse the tension, interjected, "I apologize, sir. He didn't mean it. Please hear me out. I simply wish to return home. I'll comply with your wishes and assist in locating the group. Could you please help me in return by allowing me to leave?" Tasar Valfir, with a sarcastic smile, responded, "Are you joking? We've been searching for the Green Spirit for quite some time, and now you both wish to depart. Nonetheless, I'll consider your proposal. Perhaps I'll assist you in returning, but only you. That Green Devil Spirit will remain our guest for an unspecified period."After he finished speaking, he commanded the guards to take Richard back to the wagon. He also ordered them to increase the guard's presence, indicating the heightened importance of the prisoner without disclosing the presence of the Green Spirit within him. Finally, he informed the guards that they would resume their journey to Huydale's Castle the next day.The following day, they continued their journey toward Huydale's Castle. After multiple hours of travel, they passed through the forest and found themselves just a few meters away from the renowned bridge known as "The Forgegate Crossing." From this vantage point, they could clearly witness the ongoing battle between the dwarfs and the orcs.Ten days earlier, in the prison of Huydale's Castle, the dwarf Prince, Varhir Anvilfall, interrogated a goblin prisoner loudly, pressing for information on the whereabouts of their missing dwarf soldiers. After hours of relentless questioning and torture, the goblin admitted that the dwarfs had been captured and handed over to the orcs as part of a deal. Learning this, Prince Varhir urgently appealed to his father, King Varhir Anvilfall the Fifth, for an army to rescue the imprisoned dwarf guards. However, the king refused, fearing that such action could escalate tensions with the orcs, especially since the dwarfs had previously agreed not to trespass into orc territory. Despite his father's hesitation, Prince Varhir was determined to save the guards. With only 10 companions, he resolved to defy his father's orders and go on a risky rescue mission.( 8 days before the battle )The rescue mission unfolded quietly, initiated under cover of darkness to avoid detection. They successfully located and liberated the guards. However, as they made their way out of the orc camp, they were spotted. Despite this, they managed to flee into the forest. Upon learning of the intrusion, the orc leader ordered his forces to prepare for a full-scale attack on Huydale's Castle, seeking retribution for the dwarfs' breach of their borders and secret entry into their camp.In the meantime, King Varhir Anvilfall the Fifth was enraged upon learning of his son's actions. He promised that Prince Varhir would be dealt with severely for defying orders, once they had addressed the impending orc attack.( 2 days before the battle )Grung, the orc leader, rallied his troops as they advanced toward Huydale's Castle, proclaiming, "Today will go down in our history as a great victory. With over 30,000 orcs by our side, those little people won't stand a chance against us. Show them no mercy; I want every one of their fighters dead by day's end. But spare the miners; they're still providing us with gold and silver. Let's give them a harsh lesson and remind them who's in charge."( the battle - Present )The dwarf army, numbering over 20,000 soldiers armed with their latest weapons, stood ready at The Forgegate Crossing to confront the approaching orc forces. Led by Prince Varhir Anvilfall, the dwarfs faced the intimidating sight of the massive orc army. However, relying on their engineering skills, they had prepared a formidable defense with siege machines and ample ammunition strategically positioned around the castle perimeter.(A few meters away from The Forgegate Crossing )The royal army of the Elves, accompanied by Richard as a prisoner, observed the battle from a distance in hopes of locating Corby's stronghold group. Richard, under the watchful eye of Tasar Valfirn, questioned the purpose of their mission, expressing confusion as to why such a task fell upon the royal army. Tasar Valfir explained with a smile that their objective was not merely to eliminate an outlaw human group but rather to prevent them from rebuilding Corby's Stronghold, which involved stealing goods from Glaucter Fortress. The Green Spirit interjected, jesting about the hypocrisy of their actions despite claiming to prioritize peace in the realm.Their conversation was interrupted by a guard who presented a scope to Tasar Valfir, revealing a scene from the battle where Prince Varhir Anvilfall and a few guards were surrounded by several orc generals and fighters, indicating a dire situation for the prince.Tasar Valfir hurried towards his horse, calling for three royal guards to accompany him. Richard followed closely, expressing his eagerness to help rather than remain idle. Despite receiving no immediate response from Tasar Valfir, Richard continued, reminding him of their combat abilities against skeletons. Tasar Valfir, with a wary expression, acknowledged Richard's words but questioned his reliability.Richard insisted on his willingness to assist, prompting Tasar Valfir to ask if he could trust him. Without hesitation, Richard nodded, affirming his desire to help. Tasar Valfir quickly cut the ropes binding Richard's hands and instructed a guard to provide him with a horse. Without waiting for Richard, Tasar Valfir rode towards the battlefield, leaving Richard to follow alongside another guard. During their ride, Richard hesitated to inquire about Tasar Valfir's motives for intervening in the battle, eventually asking the guard for insight. The guard explained that Tasar Valfir's friendship with Prince Varhir Anvilfall motivated him to assist, despite potential consequences.During their talk about Tasar Valfir's actions, a sudden magical fireball hit the horse Richard and the guard were on, stopping their conversation suddenly. The guard was killed by more fireballs, and Richard, armed with his magic swords, prepared to defend himself against ten mages. Though the Green Spirit offered to handle the situation, Richard wanted to face the mages himself, asking the Spirit for full power.Richard refused to give up, and one of the mages asked him to surrender peacefully. Instead, Richard stepped forward, surrounded by a green aura and his swords shining brightly. With skillful moves, he fought the mages bravely. Though it was tough, Richard won the fight, showing he could overcome challenges and survive.Meanwhile, TasarValfir continued riding his horse toward the battle, striking down multipleorcs with a single blow each. He was accompanied by three royal guards. As heapproached Varhir Anvilfall to lend assistance, he was suddenly thrown from hishorse by Grung, the orc leader. Grung attempted to deliver a finishing blow, but the other three guards intervened. Despite their efforts, Grung swiftlydispatched two of them, then retrieved his legendary curved swords, crafted byone of the greatest dwarfs in history, and effortlessly cleaved the remainingguard in two. Tasar Valfir was pinned beneath his fallen horse, unable to move.Seeing his plight, Varhir Anvilfall took action, breaking free from the siegeimposed by the orc generals and engaging Grung in combat to divert hisattention away from Tasar Valfir. Grung focused his attacks primarily on VarhirAnvilfall, who skillfully dodged the onslaught while launching counterattacks.Eventually, Tasar Valfir managed to rise and join the fray. However, as hestruck Grung from behind, Grung swiftly evaded the blow and retaliated againstTasar Valfir. Despite this, Tasar Valfir successfully avoided the attack, andtogether with Varhir Anvilfall, they executed coordinated attacks againstGrung. In a sudden turn of events, Grung unleashed a ferocious assault againstthem both, overpowering them and preparing for a final devastating blow.Richard suddenly appeared, dealing a severe blow to Grung's legs. Just asRichard was about to finish him off, Grung softly demanded a one-on-one battlecalled the Clash of Fates. This request stopped the ongoing battle, leavingeveryone except Richard to understand its gravity. The Green Spirit intervened, warning Richard against killing Grung and incurring the vengeance of thePhantom Sentinels. Confused, Richard asked about these Sentinels, but the GreenSpirit brushed off the question and explained that Grung was asking for a duelto spare his life—a challenge typically reserved for leaders or high-rankingindividuals during a battle or war. Despite his injuries, Grung stood up andnominated one of his generals as his champion, challenging Tasar Valfir to dothe same. Tasar Valfir stood up and firmly stated, "No, he will notbe..." Richard cut in, expressing his willingness to be the champion. Heassured Tasar Valfir that despite his lack of experience in battle, he wasdetermined to prove himself and defend himself, especially considering his paststruggles. Reluctantly, Tasar Valfir agreed, acknowledging Richard'sdetermination.  The Phantom SentinelsGrung then exclaimed triumphantly to his chosen champion, urging him to ensure a swift and decisive defeat for Richard by calling him by the little worm.Grung continued, outlining the terms of the agreement: if their champion won, all present would surrender unconditionally. Furthermore, there would be a contract between the Elves and them, granting them control over StormSpire Peaks territory and an annual delivery of 2T of Pure steel, all under the protection of the Phantom Sentinels. Expectations were high as Tasar Valfir stepped forward, but instead of changing the champion, he calmly agreed to the terms. However, he added conditions of their own: if their champion lost, the orcs must return to their territory and remain there for the next 5 years. Additionally, they must pay 100,000 Copper Dragon Coins for the damage caused to The Forgegate Crossing's bridge. All of this, too, would fall under the protection of the Phantom Sentinels. The dwarf prince Varhir Anvilfall exclaimed with concern, "Tasar Valfir, are you out of your mind? Entrusting our fate to a mere child is sheer madness. I refuse to accept this. Let me be the champion instead." Tasar Valfir met Varhir Anvilfall's gaze with a resolute expression and replied in just two words, "Trust me."Richard felt the weight of the huge responsibility on his shoulders. If he failed and died, it would mean disaster for everyone. Sensing his fear, The Green Spirit said, "I know you might not want my help, but this time, it's necessary. The orc you're up against is one of the greatest champions in orc history." Before Richard could object, The Green Spirit took control, ready for the fight. Then, unexpectedly, Grung agreed to Tasar Valfir's terms. At that moment, the orc general attacked Richard, but he dodged with agility and summoned a massive sword. What followed was a fierce battle, with Richard skillfully avoiding the orc's strikes and fighting back. The Green Spirit inhabiting Richard's body wasn't proficient in sword fighting, so instead, he hurled the magical sword and unleashed a massive green fireball at the orc general, swiftly ending his life.Everyone was in shock at what they had witnessed. Grung's voice thundered furiously, "You treacherous lot, bringing a mage to fight your battles! How dare you deceive me like this, Tasar Valfir? I noticed him summoning an extra sword at first, and I was willing to accept it, knowing that some elves possess such abilities. But to attack with mage powers is intolerable. We shall have our revenge once we are free again."Tasar Valfir didn't react to Grung's accusations. Instead, he simply smiled faintly when Richard defeated the orc General. Varhir Anvilfall rushed to Richard, embracing him tightly. "Where did you come from, buddy? What a fight! I knew you'd win when Tasar Valfir backed you. But this exceeded all my expectations." Richard, still recovering from the fight, fell to the ground exhausted, drained from the immense energy exerted by The Green Spirit. After 6 days of the fight, the dwarf called it afterward by The Forgegate Showdown since the battle was on The Forgegate Crossing' bridge.Richard awoke in a modest chamber, his attire now unfamiliar and peculiar to him. Suddenly, The Green Spirit warned him, 'Never insult a dwarf's attire or craftsmanship, or you'll swiftly regret it. Rest while you can, for I overheard Tasar informing the dwarf prince that we'll be escorted to Volsa's Castle in two days, accompanied by royal guards.' Curious about Volsa's Castle, Richard inquired, and The Green Spirit explained that it is the seat of the Elf's Kingdom.Twodays ago, Tasar Valfir lounged in a chair crafted bydwarves, its comfort tailored to their stout frames. He quipped, 'Wouldn't itbe simpler if you just asked me to leave instead of subjecting me to thischair? So, spill it. What did the king yell at you yesterday? I heard he was asred as a ripe cherry.' The dwarf prince chuckled, passing Tasar a cup of RootWine before taking a swig from the bottle. 'Haha, funny, but it's a bit morecomplicated. My father's furious about my actions. He's given me just ten daysto convince him why I shouldn't spend the next decade locked away. Can youbelieve it? Ten years! Is he out of his mind? I was only trying to help ourpeople, to save my guards from those vile creatures.' Tasar drained his cup androse from his seat. 'Yes, but let's not forget your actions only escalatedmatters with the orcs, nearly destroying the bridge. Besides, there's thePenitence Compact your father signed with them under the protection of The Phantom Sentinels, acknowledging his defeat in the war.' The prince's eyes gleamed. 'Exactly! You're my savior, Tasar. How could I forget about the Penitence Compact? It could be the key to my father forgiving me.' Tasar pondered, 'And what then? Are you going to plead with them, saying, "Please, I want to be a good dwarf. Can you please annul that pact and leave us be?" The prince chuckled and replied, "Oh, I wouldn't phrase it quite like that. But it's a solid plan. We provide them with 2 tons of gold and iron each month, and..." He was abruptly interrupted by one of the royal elf's guards. "My apologies for the interruption, sir, but it's urgent. The Corby's group has been spotted camping in The Ruins of Castle Ravenloft by our scouts." Tasar's expression turned serious. "Prepare yourselves. We'll depart in three days. Keep the scouts monitoring their movements closely."
