Chapter 3 - Disaster of Blood and Light

"Hello? Are you crossing the road or not? Don't block the way for others. Don't you have any self-awareness when you're this fat?"

An impatient voice suddenly sounded beside her.

Glancing over, Gu Chuyin saw an auntie riding a bicycle. Before she could react, the auntie angrily pushed her with a palm.

Gu Chuyin was still lost in thought and unprepared for the push.

She immediately took two steps back and hit her waist on a road sign, causing a sharp pain.

Frowning, she looked at the auntie, who was now disdainfully looking away.

Gu Chuyin calmly said, "Auntie, I see that your forehead is dark. You may have a bloody disaster soon. Please be careful."

"You fat woman, who are you cursing? What bloody disaster? Do you believe I'll make you see blood first?" The auntie, who was about to leave, was now angry and glaring at her as if she wanted to fight.

Gu Chuyin knew how to deal with people like this, those who were all bark and no bite.

She gestured towards the traffic police officer on the opposite side of the road and said, "Try hitting me, and you won't just have a bloody disaster, but also a prison disaster."

The auntie followed her gaze and looked over. Seeing the officer, her arrogant attitude suddenly disappeared.

She snorted angrily, rolled her eyes at Gu Chuyin, and said, "You fat woman, you'll never get married in your life. Don't go around cursing others, or you'll embarrass yourself even more."

After saying this, she rode her bicycle to the other side of the street. Just then, a car suddenly rushed out...

"Squeak!"

"Bang!"

"Ah..."

The sound of screeching brakes, a collision, and a scream mixed together on the street.

Gu Chuyin watched as the auntie's bike flew through the air, spun once, and crashed to the ground. For a moment, she was stunned.

The roadside became chaotic.

The traffic police quickly called for assistance, and nearby pedestrians rushed to help with traffic.

As Gu Chuyin passed by, her gaze swept over the auntie.

There was a small pool of blood on the ground, and the driver next to her was anxiously scratching his head.

The auntie was bleeding from the back of her head, but she was still moving slightly.

When she opened her eyes, she spotted Gu Chuyin in the crowd.

Seeing Gu Chuyin's chubby face and big ears, the auntie suddenly became agitated and pointed at her with a trembling finger.

"It's her! It's her! She cursed me!"

"She's not a good person! You must call the police and arrest her! She'll curse you all!"

The people around her thought she was just talking nonsense from the shock and didn't take her seriously.

Watching this scene, Gu Chuyin calmly withdrew her gaze and left as the ambulance arrived.

She knew the auntie would be in trouble, but she hadn't expected it to happen so quickly.

Following her memories, she walked all the way home.

Gu Chuyin's original home was in a relatively remote area near the outskirts of Jiang City, far from school.

It took her over an hour to walk there. Feeling the pain in her feet, Gu Chuyin took a deep breath.

She had lived for over thirty years and had never walked such a long distance at once.

In front of her was a small two-story house. A wall surrounded the yard, and there were some flowers and plants, making the environment barely acceptable.

However, Gu Chuyin couldn't help but frown.

She owned several properties.

Whether it was a multi-million-dollar mansion or a luxurious seaside villa, any one of them would surpass the small house in front of her.

Was she really going to live in such a place from now on?

As Gu Chuyin was lost in thought, the door suddenly opened.

A middle-aged woman in a floral dress stood there expressionlessly. This was the original owner's mother, Fang Wenxiang.

Fang Wenxiang glanced at her, then tossed her handbag heavily onto the cabinet without saying a word.

She walked into the house, wearing slippers.

"There's rice in the pot. Eat it and leave quickly. Your brother is still napping, don't disturb him."

After saying this, Fang Wenxiang went upstairs without looking at her again.

Gu Chuyin just frowned at her attitude.

Following her memory, she walked to the kitchen and opened the pot.

Her gaze fell on the bowl of white rice and a few vegetables beside it.

Was this lunch?

Was this even meant for human consumption?

A wave of extreme hunger hit her stomach.

This was the first time in thirty-five years that Gu Chuyin had felt so hungry she was about to panic.

She couldn't care less about how terrible the food looked.

She grabbed the chopsticks and started eating.

But after just two bites, Gu Chuyin stopped.

The rice was cold, and so were the vegetables. If she ate this, she would probably spend the entire exam running to the bathroom.

Can a mother really do this?

Faced with the cold, leftover food, Gu Chuyin was so hungry she nearly fainted.

Her body required a lot of food, and skipping meals made her feel dizzy and weak.

Glancing at the kitchen, she found a few eggs and quickly made a simple egg fried rice.

Her cooking skills weren't great, but she could manage.

The portion wasn't large, barely enough for one bowl. Gu Chuyin had always controlled her diet and never overate. But today, she had eaten more than usual.

Even so, her stomach still felt empty. Clearly, this amount of food wasn't enough for the original owner's body.

Gu Chuyin touched her stomach and felt the layers of fat.

She frowned in disgust and didn't have the courage to look down again.

She went back to the bedroom to look for some pocket money from the original owner.

She planned to visit the pharmacy later to buy some plaster for her sore waist.

However, she couldn't find any money. Instead, she ended up staring dumbfounded at herself in the mirror.

She looked at her body, which had gained an extra layer of fat, and her eyes were filled with shock.

Before looking in the mirror, Gu Chuyin still had some hope that she could lose weight and get back in shape.

But now...

What did she see?

On her huge, round face, there were not only layers of fat but also spots!

Looking further down, her neck was as round as her face, and her small arms were as thick as other people's thighs.

Her belly was bulging, and her back was hunched.

It was truly shocking to behold.

In terms of appearance, she was even harder to deal with than the most difficult clients her company had ever transformed.

Staring at the mirror for a long time, Gu Chuyin could barely find one redeeming quality.

Her facial features were relatively well-proportioned, but they were buried under too much fat. If she lost two hundred pounds, maybe she wouldn't be so hard to look at?

Losing weight was the top priority.

After making up her mind, Gu Chuyin searched through the original owner's bedroom.

After rummaging through the cabinets and drawers for a while, she only managed to find seven or eight dollars.

Looking at this pitiful amount of savings, Gu Chuyin frowned.

What could she even do with so little money?
