Synopsis
In the fractured kingdom of *Eryndral*, magic is drawn from the *Eternal Flame*—a sacred fire guarded by the *Celestials*, a sky-dwelling clan of elemental masters. For centuries, the *Skybound Covenant* has maintained balance between the Celestials and the ground-bound clans of Flame, Tide, Stone, and Gale. But now, the Flame has gone out, and the land is dying. *Kaelen Ashwind*, the exiled heir of the Flame Clan, is drawn back into the conflict when he discovers he has a rare connection to the Flame. As monstrous *Emberwights* rise from the ashes and the clans descend into chaos, Kaelen must unite his people and journey to the *Floating Isles*, home of the Celestials, to uncover the truth behind the Flame’s extinction. But the Celestials are not the benevolent guardians they once were. A hidden conspiracy threatens to shatter the Covenant forever, and Kaelen must confront his own past to reignite the Flame and save Eryndral from destruction. In a world where the skies hold the key to salvation or ruin *The Skybound Covenant* is a tale of redemption, unity, and the enduring power of hope. #!! Chapter 1 - Chapter 1. Happiness is a delusion

Heavy breathing could be heard with the crisp and sharp sound of a blade colliding with the hard skin of the emberweights. Swinging his blade with precision, he, the one who had been unfortunate enough to encounter these hideous beings who were the result or the indicator of the ending of the "once beautiful" kingdom of eryndral.

The young man was holding his own against the scary creatures from the dark, but it was pretty obvious from his gasping for air to the immense sweating, that he was nearing his limit. The outskirts of kingdom of eryndral was specifically a lot more dangerous and dark compared to the inside of the kingdom as, most of the emberweights were defeated easily by the specific clans with their own individual elemental magic.

The chilling weather of the outskirts of eryndral did not affect him no more as his body had heated so much that his clothes itself were starting to ignite little by little and his being of flame clan played a significant role in it. "No way to escape, nor am i seeing any signs of the ending of these hideous creatures either? It seems the past is still clinging to me hard eh? If i could use my flame magic i would have burned them into ground with a blink of an eye but...." The young man spoke those words to himself as he fiercely swung his sword eliminating a few emberweights in a single swing. "At this point, i can't even feel my arms anymore. My vision is getting blurry and all i can hear is the beating of my own heart..... father, it seems once again i have disappointed you.... don't worry! It seems this time i will be by your side pleading for forgiveness in no time." The young lad could barely pick up his sword anymore let alone swing it, as his consciousness faded into deep slumber of exhaustion and regret, he closed his eyes for the last time as he let go of the sword and accepted his fate with open arms.

Before he completely lost his consciousness, he could feel burning in his deep scar below his left eye but he did not heed it as it was last of his concerns at that moment.

Deep slumber, no hope nor willingness to live another second in this cruel world but was not brave enough to take his own life. Thrown out and abandoned, he tries his best to not give in to his wanting of death....but...the poor boy could only suffer for so long as he eventually gave in being embraced by the cold yet satisfying arms of death.

"Take..t..take..the..fla...flame" a mysterious voice echoed in his consciousness. It was not a familiar voice nor it was something that he had heard before. "Who...who is it?" The young lad questioned his surrounding but no answer was received. The dark and gloomy consciousness which had been thrown into deep slumber due to immense self hatred and regrets, he could not figure out who's voice it was and what was it trying to tell him.

"Take the flame!!" This time the voice was not disrupted and was also not coming from inside somewhere in his slumbering consciousness.

He slowly figured it out that the voice was not from within him this time as he regained his broken consciousness bit by bit.

"Hello!? Are you there? I hope you are not dead or else i am gonna throw you into deep, freezing ocean! And you know what happens to flameweavers once they come into contact with extremally cold water!!" The tone of the voice suddenly changed into something threatening as he opened his eyes wide while screaming in fear. "Yewahh!! Who....who are you?" He jumped out of his resting position taking deep breaths while trying to figure out what was exactly going on.

Besides him, a beautiful woman with sea-green eyes and long, braided hair the color of seaweed was standing besides him with a surprised look on her face. "My apologies if i unintentionally gave you nightmare when you were already struggling so much but you were not waking up at all even after so many days so i tried everything in order to wake you up and fortunately this one seemed to work."

The young woman smiled widely as she spoke those words which the young man was having a hard time to figure out, complimented by his confused look on his face. "You....you are?" Gathering his distorted breathing, he calmly asked her the question as he looked around curiously. "Oh, i would like to once again apologize for the unusual way of waking you up and let me introduce myself first and foremost, i am the Lira Tidesong or also know as the guardian of the tide clan" lira held her head up high as she spoke those words slightly indicating her proudness towards her clan and her people. "You may be one of the flameweavers from the flame clan? Am i right?" She added further initiating the conversation while sitting on the corner of the bed where he was resting.

Waves clashing against various obstacle while creating such a fine sound that could almost be called a melody, the sun that was shining bright and hot paired with the beautiful melody of the waves helped him calm down enough to speak his mind. "As you said, i am from or was from the flame clan but certain events led to my exile from the clan and i am currently working as a mercenary. My name is kaelen ashwind. From what i can figure out it seems that you have saved my life for which i am very thankful to you." He spoke with calm and composed manner which was completely different from the way he spoke just a few seconds ago, his mood was more gloomy and emotionless now, that he knew what situation he was in. "Quite the Chang in personality in a few seconds i would say but I won't pry any further as it is not of my concerns, anyway! I am very happy to see you doing fine even though you woke up after being out cold for seven days straight." She replied in the same manner as him while collecting the medical tools that had been scattered around.

"Wait- how many days!? Seven?!!" His face turned pale while his voice became shaky. He did not waste another second as he jumped out of the bed and ran out from the room.
