Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Art of War and Nonsense

Titan Vale Headquarters | The War Room

Freya Lenore wasn't used to standing still.

Her entire life had been motion—training, fighting, surviving. The transition from assassin to executive assistant should have been jarring, but it wasn't. She had simply traded one battlefield for another.

Now, instead of knives and bullets, she wielded contracts and negotiations. Instead of hunting enemies in the dark, she dismantled them in boardrooms. The tools had changed. The war had not.

She sat in her private office, a rare moment of stillness before the day consumed her. Unlike Nevaris Vale's absurd mansion, her space was minimalistic—black furniture, hidden weapons, a single window overlooking the city. No distractions. Just efficiency.

She glanced at the digital clock.

5:32 AM.

The day had barely begun, and she had already reviewed three security reports, finalized a dozen contracts, and handled an attempted corporate espionage breach before the sun had even risen.

Freya took a sip of coffee.

Her comm device buzzed.

She exhaled. She already knew who it was.

[ Nevaris Vale ]

6:00 AM

Message: "Freyaaaa. Where are you? I'm boooored."

Freya stared at the screen.

He was texting her. Again.

After dragging her to his mansion yesterday under the flimsiest excuse possible—only to waste her time playing video games and eating junk food—he had the audacity to be bored at six in the morning?

She took another sip of coffee and ignored him.

Nevaris could wait.

For now, she had work to do.

7:00 AM – Training Room

Freya's morning routine was sacred.

One hour of combat training before facing the insanity of Titan Vale Corporation.

The private training room was empty, except for the sleek combat drones lined up against the wall, waiting for activation. She input the highest difficulty settings. No point in taking it easy.

The moment the countdown hit zero, the room exploded into motion.

Freya moved like a shadow—precise, lethal. A drone lunged—she sidestepped, slamming its arm against the mat and disabling its core. Another attacked from behind—she twisted, delivering a sharp elbow to its metal frame before executing a takedown.

Within minutes, the entire squad was down.

She exhaled, steadying her breathing. Still at her peak. Good.

Her comm buzzed again.

[ Nevaris Vale ]

7:15 AM

Message: "Freyaaaa. Are you ignoring me?"

Freya wiped sweat from her brow.

Yes. Yes, she was.

8:00 AM – The War Room

By the time Freya arrived at Titan Vale's headquarters, the executive floor was already awake.

She moved through the halls like a ghost—silent, commanding instant respect. Employees stepped aside. Senior executives, men twice her age, chose their words carefully in her presence.

Freya had no official title beyond Executive Assistant. But everyone knew the truth.

She was the Silent Blade of Titan Vale Corporation.

And if Nevaris Vale was a storm, she was the knife hidden in its eye.

She stepped into the War Room. The table was already surrounded by the company's top executives.

Nathaniel Huffington, COO. Calculated, methodical, ruthless in his efficiency.

Kenji Nakamura, Head of R&D. A quiet genius who saw everything and said little.

Victoria Lang, Chief of Cybersecurity. Paranoid, but for good reason.

Gideon Park, Head of Global Investments. Cold as ice, with an uncanny ability to predict market shifts before they happened.

They all turned as she entered.

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "You're late."

Freya checked the time. "I'm on time."

Nathaniel smirked. "For once."

She took a seat. "What's the situation?"

Kenji tapped the table. A holographic display flickered to life, revealing a company logo.

Astralis Holdings.

A lesser-known conglomerate, yet one with suspiciously deep pockets.

Freya's eyes narrowed. She had seen this kind of setup before—silent investors, hidden connections, strategic moves in the shadows.

This wasn't just corporate competition.

This was something else.

Nathaniel tapped the table. "They're moving aggressively into Eurasia, targeting Titan Vale's interests."

Freya studied the data. "Who's backing them?"

Kenji adjusted his glasses. "We don't know yet."

Freya didn't like unknowns.

Astralis wasn't acting alone. Someone was using them.

She leaned back. "I'll inform Nevaris."

Victoria chuckled. "Good luck. He's been texting me since 6 AM about some nonsense."

Freya rubbed her temples. Of course he had.

9:00 AM – CEO's Office

By the time Freya reached Nevaris' office, she was already bracing for whatever nonsense he had planned.

The door slid open—

And there he was.

Nevaris Vale. Trillionaire. Demon of Contracts. Supposedly the most powerful businessman in the world.

Sitting on his desk.

Juggling three stress balls.

While balancing a pen on his nose.

Freya stared.

Nevaris grinned. "Freyaaa. You're finally here!"

She closed her eyes. Patience.

"You're an actual child," she muttered.

Nevaris hopped off the desk, spinning one of the stress balls in his hand. "Nah. I'm just enjoying life."

Freya folded her arms. "We have a situation."

Nevaris' playful expression didn't fade, but his eyes sharpened slightly. "Oh?"

She tapped the interface, sending the details to his screen.

"Astralis Holdings," she said. "They're making moves on our territory."

Nevaris hummed, scanning the report.

Freya watched him carefully.

And just like that—

The carefree Nevaris faded.

The air in the room shifted.

His golden eyes darkened, the playful glint disappearing—

And in that instant, Freya was reminded why people feared him.

Because Nevaris Vale wasn't just a businessman.

He was a force of nature.

A hurricane wrapped in silk.

He smiled—but it wasn't a Nevaris smile anymore. It was something sharper. Something dangerous.

"Well," he murmured. "Let's have some fun."
