Chapter 78 - Chapter 78

Tony remained alert, staring at Luke, who was approaching.

The two stood opposite each other, exactly 3.1416 meters apart.

"Let's shake hands and make peace. I actually think that fighting like this is quite boring," Luke said nonchalantly.

Tony still wanted to ask—you're so damn big, how the hell am I supposed to shake hands with you?

"Hey," Luke suddenly raised his head and said, "Look, there's a guy flying in the sky with a hammer!"

Tony instinctively looked up. And, well—there was nothing in the sky. He'd been fooled.

The War Lord suddenly lunged forward and grabbed Tony.

Tony was lifted high into the air, held firmly in the massive mechanical grip of Luke's War Lord.

"I got you!"

At this moment, Tony was like a toy model trapped in the hands of a giant child. No matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't break free.

"Jarvis, increase the power to maximum!" Tony commanded.

However, even with the Ark Reactor pushed to full output, he still couldn't break out. He was firmly trapped in Luke's grasp.

He tried prying at the fingers, pushing with all his might, but it was like trying to bend steel with his bare hands. The War Lord's grip didn't budge.

He was stuck.

The War Lord was powered by colorless crystal blocks, a pure energy structure that required no reaction or conversion. It was plug-and-play, clean, and completely pollution-free—just flat-out stronger than the Ark Reactor.

Then, as Tony stared in shock, Luke pinched one of his arms.

And then, Luke began slamming Tony into the ground.

Again and again.

Like a pissed-off toddler throwing a tantrum with his toys.

"Vibranium! I told you to use vibranium! I vibrate! I vibrate!"

Tony was tossed left and right, his body spinning wildly inside the suit.

Physically, he was fine—vibranium's impact absorption was ridiculously overpowered—but that didn't stop the intense feeling of weightlessness from making him sick.

Anyone could imagine the Playboy's physical tolerance.

After just a few dozen seconds, Tony felt like his stomach wasn't even his own anymore—he was about to vomit inside his own damn suit.

Luke was straight-up reenacting that Hulk vs. Loki scene, except this was on a whole other level.

Hulk was about 2.5 meters tall when transformed, and he could casually yeet Loki like a ragdoll.

Luke? He was tossing Tony around like a damn grasshopper.

Then, Luke had a new idea.

He used two huge mechanical fingers to pinch Tony's head.

And then, the Berserker skill Soul-Eating Hand was activated!

Soul-Eating Hand:

Grab an enemy and absorb its energy.

Then, release the absorbed energy to deal additional damage.

As the Berserker's signature early-game skill, Soul-Eating Hand was a total cheat move.

In the DNF game, this skill could grab enemies even if they were in dominant or defensive states, no matter how big they were.

There were only a few exceptions.

For example, the Ammunition Expert's Neil Sniper, which granted a dominant state.

Or the Elementalist's Meteorite Disillusionment, which had a similar effect.

Enemies that couldn't be launched into the air or were classified as "elf-like" creatures couldn't be grabbed.

But in Marvel?

Yeah—nothing in Marvel had those restrictions.

Luke had suspected for a long time that this move might be broken as hell in the real world.

Now, he finally had a chance to test it.

Would his mecha's Soul-Eating Hand actually turn into some kind of Energy-Draining Hand?

The moment Soul-Eating Hand activated, Luke felt a strange force flow through his body.

It was like a black hole had opened inside him, unleashing an immense suction force outward.

This force traveled through his body, into his mecha arm, and then into Tony.

And in return, a flood of powerful energy surged back into the War Lord, channeling straight into Luke's body.

Luke's eyes suddenly widened.

For a moment, he felt like his whole body was swelling up—like a balloon about to burst.

"Holy shit, I'm gonna explode!"

The energy he had just absorbed from Tony's Ark Reactor had rushed into his body all at once!

He was completely overloaded.

If even a little more came in, he'd explode just like those martial arts heroes who absorbed too much power and exploded into fireworks.

And then, in his moment of panic, Luke suddenly felt a new channel open up inside his body.

This energy was now flowing outward—traveling to his feet and into the War Lord.

"The system!"

Luke exhaled in relief.

Thank God for the system.

If he hadn't had this failsafe, he would've just blown himself to kingdom come.

At the same time, all the energy he was absorbing from Tony continued flowing into the War Lord.

The screen in front of Luke flickered, showing that the War Lord's energy reserves were now completely full.

And even more energy was pouring into its core.

Inside the cockpit, on the central console, Luke had designed six slots for installing Infinity Stones in the future—just to represent his raging ambition.

And now, something incredible was happening inside the War Lord's core.

A small colorless crystal block, originally used as the War Lord's power source, was undergoing an unbelievable transformation.

It started turning red.

Then, it began growing larger.

As more and more energy surged into it, the small crystal expanded into a large red crystal.

"What the hell? Did I just unlock some kind of Star-Absorbing Technique?!"

Luke was dumbfounded.

As the core's colorless crystal transformed into a massive red crystal, even more energy was still being drawn in.

Meanwhile, inside Tony's suit, panic was setting in.

His screen was flickering violently, way worse than when he was tangled in Ivan Vanko's electric whips.

Jarvis reported that the suit's energy levels were dropping at an insane rate.

"What the hell did you do?!" Tony shouted in disbelief.

Luke didn't even respond.

He was too focused on the War Lord's core transformation.

Luke had never expected that this ridiculous move would actually bring down Iron Man in the end.

As the Ark Reactor's energy reserves hit rock bottom, Tony's entire suit shut down.

It was now nothing but a hollow shell.

Although the Ark Reactor was still running atomic-level reactions, the rate of energy loss was far greater than the rate of output.

Iron Man had officially been drained dry.

With his power source gone, his suit shut down entirely.

Tony Stark was now completely trapped inside a metal coffin.

A major flaw of the early Iron Man suits was that if they lost power, they couldn't open.

This flaw wasn't solved until several generations later.

At that moment, Luke's AI assistant, Ross, suddenly sounded an urgent warning.

"Warning! Master, the absorbed energy is too enormous. Your body can no longer handle it. Immediate release is advised, or irreversible consequences may occur!"

Luke's expression shifted.

He could feel something was definitely wrong.

The large red crystal in the War Lord's core was no longer stable.

Luke quickly let go of Tony.

With a heavy thud, Tony collapsed to the ground, completely motionless.

Meanwhile, inside the War Lord, Ross's voice rang out again.

"Immediate release is advised!"

The red crystal in the core was now glowing ominously.

Luke knew what he had to do.

With no time to waste, he aimed at the sky and roared:

"Excalibur Blast!!!"

A massive, blazing-red sun erupted in the night sky.

Then, with a deafening roar, it shot across the sky—

—straight toward the moon.
