Chapter 74 - Chapter 74

This bolt of lightning stunned Ivan Vanko.

Ivan Vanko looked up in confusion, but there was no one above him.

But then, the next second, another bolt of lightning suddenly appeared, not far above his head, and then struck him on the head without delay.

Ivan Vanko's eyes suddenly rolled back, and his whole body trembled.

It's not as exaggerated as in the comics, where people's faces turn black after being struck by lightning. The lightning released by Revenge of Light wasn't very powerful, and it wasn't a big deal for a normal person to be hit by it.

However, if it happens continuously, most people wouldn't be able to bear it.

Although this is Marvel, not everyone is immune to lightning.

Inside the cockpit of the War Lord, the display screen in front of Luke was shaking, clearly affected by the strong current of the electric whip.

The lightning shot down by Revenge of Light was also connected through the electric whip and continuously transmitted to the War Lord.

There is no such thing as your own skills not being able to harm you.

This is the real world.

However, Luke had already prepared for this situation. When he built the G-0 War Lord, he incorporated multiple insulation designs specifically for his battle with Whiplash.

So, while the outer layers of the mech might take some damage, Luke would be completely safe inside.

"Ross, are you done?"

"All done, Master. I've locked onto the opponent's Arc Reactor. It'll keep supplying energy to the electric whip," Ross replied with a smirk.

"Well done." Luke asked again, "How long can the machine last like this?"

"Conservative estimate: more than 20 minutes."

"That's more than enough!" Luke grinned. The fun was about to begin.

As another lightning bolt struck, Ivan Vanko shook his dizzy head, trying to force himself awake. The repeated lightning strikes were already messing with his senses.

At this moment, he was sure of one thing—it had to be Luke's doing!

Ivan Vanko had a high IQ. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to recreate an Arc Reactor based on old schematics.

Realizing the problem, Ivan Vanko immediately tried to pull back the electric whip.

However, how could Luke let that happen?

"You wanna take it back? How could you be so irresponsible?"

Luke grinned wickedly, controlling the War Lord to grab the electric whip with his backhand!

Then, the War Lord wrapped the electric whip around his arm twice in a row. Now, through the electric whip, Luke had firmly linked himself to Ivan Vanko.

Luke taunted, "Don't stop! Keep going! Let's have fun together! Yeah, harder!"

Ivan Vanko immediately tried to cut the power, but to his horror, his suit's operating system had failed.

Ivan Vanko's eyes widened. No matter how hard he pulled, the electric whip wouldn't budge.

This was different from Monaco—back then, he held the electric whip in his hands. This time, he had integrated the electric whip into the suit itself.

Now that the system had crashed, he couldn't even exit the suit.

The electric whip continued to discharge into Luke.

Then, there was a sharp "crack" as another bolt of lightning descended directly onto Ivan Vanko's head.

Revenge of Light had triggered again.

Another thick, blinding bolt struck Ivan Vanko.

His body convulsed violently.

Then another one…

And another…

And another…

One after another…

These relentless lightning strikes left Ivan Vanko shaking like a leaf, his consciousness fading fast.

The electrical current traveled through his suit, turning him into something like a lab rat caught in an endless shock experiment.

In Dungeon & Fighter, Revenge of Light has a unique trait—when activated, there's a small chance of triggering lightning when attacking an enemy. However, when the user is attacked, lightning is almost guaranteed to strike.

That's the true meaning of revenge.

And so, an infamous PK move was born, known as "Stand Still and Get Healed."

The Asuras who perfected this technique were considered legends—masters of pain tolerance, paragons of patience, warriors who refused to dodge attacks, noble Asuras, pure Asuras, enlightened Asuras…

Two minutes later.

Ivan Vanko's eyes rolled back, and foam formed at his mouth…

Tony and Rhodey, watching from the sidelines, were completely dumbfounded.

"What the hell just happened?"

Where was all this lightning coming from?!

"Jarvis, analyze the situation!" Tony demanded.

"Sir, this is not a natural phenomenon," Jarvis replied.

"No shit," Tony muttered. He knew it wasn't natural—lightning never strikes the same place twice in a row.

Let alone ten times in a row on the same person.

For someone like Tony, who believed in science, this was borderline witchcraft.

(A certain Thunder God: "I can do this all day.")

Tony had a suspicion—this was probably another one of the Apostle's tricks.

Just like that mysterious orange force field he hadn't figured out yet, this had to be some kind of new tech.

Meanwhile, Luke felt that this moment was missing something.

How could there be no BGM in a moment like this?

So, he snapped his fingers and said, "Ross, play some epic music!"

Ross chuckled. "On it, Master."

Then, from the War Lord's mech speakers…

Something completely unexpected played.

Luke was frozen on the spot.

What the hell is this sound…?

He listened carefully.

This wasn't epic background music.

It was… elevator music.

Or more accurately, something even worse.

"Ross, what the hell is this?!"

"It's the music you requested, Master," Ross replied with an amused tone.

"I said epic music! Not this crap!"

"Which one?" Ross teased.

"Music!"

"But Master, you did say you wanted something exciting."

"No problem," Ross nodded.

"…"

Luke had no doubt.

Ross was definitely doing this on purpose.

At this moment, the battlefield fell into a bizarre silence.

The only sounds were the sharp "crackling" of lightning bolts continuously striking Ivan Vanko and the ridiculous background music playing from Luke's mech.

Tony's expression was beyond words at this point.

Every time the Apostle did something, Tony felt a deep existential crisis.

Inside Hammer Industries' control room, Black Widow watched the spectacle with a bewildered look.

The strange lightning…

The even stranger music…

And, most importantly, the utterly ridiculous atmosphere…

Listening to the increasingly high-pitched screams in her earpiece, Black Widow smirked and muttered under her breath:

"Little bastard sure knows how to put on a show."

This entire fight…

Was absolutely ridiculous.

And yet…

It worked.

Because in this bizarre atmosphere…

Ivan Vanko finally collapsed.
